As a key member of the Trusts & Grants team, The Trusts & Grants Fundraiser will work closely with the Trusts & Grants Manager to raise funds from a portfolio of charitable trusts in accordance with Child Bereavement UK’s budgets and targets.

Initiative, creativity, excellent organization and writing skills are required, together with the ability to develop persuasive proposals and nurture effective relationships with key stakeholders across Child Bereavement UK and externally.

This role comes at a particularly important time for CBUK when the charity is looking to evolve and grow services, diversify into new areas, and raise significant funds for ongoing work. The Trusts & Grants Team are a vital part of the charity’s expansion into new areas, and the post-holder will have the opportunity to work with frontline staff to develop new projects and bids.

Main Responsibilities

Leadership

• Create timely and compelling bespoke proposals and applications to charitable and corporate trusts, Lotteries and Government bodies.
• Develop and deliver to donor care plans to provide excellent supporter care to trust funders; aim to involve supporters in the achievement of the Child Bereavement UK mission and maximise the value and longevity of their support – providing accurate and informative reports and invitations to project visits and events where appropriate.
• Support in the development of new case for support and project documents; work with front-line staff to develop new bids and budgets.
• Keep up to date with Child Bereavement UK’s work, key priorities and future plans to effectively match with supporters’ interests and identify opportunities for support.
• Contribute to the Trusts and Grants annual business planning process as well as monthly planning and budget reforecasting.
• Undertake rigorous identification of prospective grant funders and detailed research into strong leads (through desktop research and face to face/virtual networking).
• Work closely with colleagues in other areas of fundraising and other departments across the charity, as well as volunteers and supporters to build strong working relationships and maximise cross selling opportunities.
• Ensure the effective management of all relevant information, including maintaining accurate information for prospects and donors on the charity’s database (Sales Force).
• Utilise a range of internal work and planning tools to ensure bids are of a good quality, relationships are maintained, and internal stakeholders are included in any decisions.
• Develop personal knowledge of trust fundraising, including completing relevant training and regularly reviewing relevant press and publications from relevant organisations.

Remuneration

The Woodland Trust is looking for an experienced Conservation and Wildlife Officer to join the Snaizeholme Project team, supporting the conservation and long-term management of the Snaizeholme Estate. The role will focus on conservation-led wildlife management, including protecting and enhancing local Red Squirrel populations, habitat and species monitoring, and delivering practical land management across a diverse landscape. Working closely with landowners, partners, volunteers and local communities, the successful candidate will combine strong ecological knowledge with excellent communication and public engagement skills to help create a thriving, resilient landscape for wildlife and people.

The Role:

• This is a homebased role, requiring regular travel to locations within the Snaizeholme landscape and wider area, sometimes to remote locations. You would be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of your area of responsibility. Occasional travel to regional offices and overnight stays will be required.

The Candidate:

• Experience assessing, monitoring, and managing wildlife and habitats to deliver conservation objectives, particularly in upland environments.
• Skilled in wildlife and habitat surveying, species identification, and practical conservation management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building experience with farmers, land managers, ENGOs, local authorities, volunteers, and community groups.
• Confident in public engagement, including presentations, guided walks, and volunteer coordination.

• Competent in Health & Safety management, including lone working, risk assessments, and working in challenging terrain/weather conditions.

What you’ll do
 

As International Partnerships Lead for the Middle East, Africa and Europe, your role is to provide world class customer service and support to over 250 international schools from around the world. You will build and maintain excellent working relationships with your partner schools, supporting them to make the most of the Unifrog platform. Solutions and customer service focused, you will make sure that all interactions with Unifrog are prompt, positive and successful. 

You will cover the Middle East and Africa, with possible opportunities for international travel for school visits or conferences once a year.

Your key responsibilities will include:
 

• Being the first point of contact for our international partner schools in the region. 

• Working with your partner Area Manager to improve Unifrog engagement across the region and making sure schools are making the most of the platform.

• Monitoring, auditing and analysing usage across partner schools, identifying schools that need additional support to use the platform effectively.

• Provide resources and strategies to partner schools to maximise staff and student engagement with Unifrog, identifying and promoting best practice across partner schools.

• Delivering targeted training sessions for partner schools via workshops and webinars. This could be a video meeting with a counselor, a webinar with lots of teachers attending from around the world; or an in-person visit to one of our partner schools subject to travel restrictions.

• Onboarding new schools that join us. You will make sure that they are properly set up on our platform and have a strong plan in place so that they and their students can get the most out of Unifrog.

• Responding to queries and troubleshooting issues and providing on-the-spot support via phone, email and video calls.

Main purpose of the job

• To support the organisation’s day-to-day finance, HR and impact data administration. This includes maintaining and strengthening financial controls, contributing to monthly and year-end financial processes, and supporting with finance/HR reports as required.
• To collect, manage and analyse data to improve service quality, demonstrate impact, and meet reporting requirements. The post holder will ensure information is accurate, compliant and used effectively to support decision-making, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure management information is produced accurately and on time, which will support effective strategic and operational decision-making across the organisation.

Main Tasks

Finance Administration and Financial Control

1. Process income sales invoices, grant claims and associated receipts and payments, ensuring timely receipt of all revenue.

2. Process purchase ledger invoices and associated payments.

3. Calculate accruals, prepayments and internal recharges.

4. Complete bank reconciliations.

5. Maintain and update the organisation’s asset register.

6. Maintain project files in line with funding guidelines.

7. Record cash account transactions, including weekly cash issues to relevant budget holders, ensuring all returns comply with financial procedures.

8. Monitor individual budgets and highlight any issues or concerns to the appropriate colleagues.

9. Liaise with the charity’s auditors and provide information required to support the annual audit.

10.  Assist in the design, management and co-ordination of appropriate finance and administrative systems as required.

11.  Ensure day-to-day financial processes comply with the Financial Procedures Policy.

12.  Contribute to procurement and value-for-money activities.

Impact, Data and Reporting

13.  Support the organisation to collect, analyse and use data to improve service quality, demonstrate impact, and meet regulatory and funding requirements.

14.  Support the development of evaluation frameworks and tools, including surveys, feedback forms and outcome trackers.

15.  Collect qualitative and quantitative evidence, including case studies, feedback and statistics.

This is a pivotal role at the intersection of finance and operations, helping to ensure the smooth and effective running of key organisational functions. • Be the main point of contact for all finance and operational queries

• Manage the organisation’s core financial operations, including monthly Management Accounts, project finances, VAT returns and financial reporting, while working closely with external bookkeepers to ensure effective financial management and compliance, while working closely with the COO on financial oversight and planning

• Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting, Mid Year Forecasting and audit processes, preparing financial information, liaising with budget holders and external accountants, and ensuring timelines, reporting requirements and supporting documentation are delivered accurately and on time, while working closely with the COO on final review and strategic adjustments

• Support the Head of People and Development with the delivery and implementation of the internal People Strategy (specifically focusing on refining recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes, as well as providing support with grant reporting and budgeting requirements for funders)

• Manage day-to-day operations across the organisation, including onboarding new staff, supporting HR processes, coordinating office management and equipment setup, liaising with IT support providers, arranging organisation-wide cyber security training, and ensuring the smooth running of operational processes while identifying areas for improvement

• Identify ways to enhance operational processes to support the growth of the organisation.
