ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a dedicated School Mental Health Practitioner to join the Harris Federation’s central mental health team and make a meaningful impact in secondary schools across London.
You will be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team led by our Lead Mental Health Practitioner, receiving regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development and helping to shape the future of mental health support in education.
In this full-time, term-time plus role, you will be allocated to three Harris secondary schools, where you will deliver mental health support to students aged 11–18. You will work directly with students through 1:1 sessions, group work and whole-school wellbeing initiatives, helping to shape a culture of mental health awareness and support.
You will be based in schools for four days per week, primarily in South, South East and South West London, and occasionally in North London. Travel between schools is required. One day per week is set aside for team meetings and professional development.
As a term-time plus role, the full-time equivalent salary will be adjusted pro rata. The actual salary will be £33,016-£38,238 (37.5 hours per week, term time + three weeks).

We are growing our team and developing a full-time role to 2 Part-time Comms Officers (0.6FTE) each working 22.5 hours per week to help take our charity’s communications to the next level. We support a rapidly growing community of patients and carers living with eosinophilic diseases and have a global network of healthcare and research professionals reaching 68 countries.

The Comms Officers will each bring their individual skills to the team and together will develop and deliver our charity’s communications strategy, changing the lives of people across the world who live with these rare and life impacting diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the strategy and daily running of all the charity's social media channels. This includes creating content, campaign planning, responding to messages and general housekeeping, engaging with online communities and looking for new and innovative ways to grow our audiences
- Liaise with external stakeholders and charity partners on Comms matters and joint campaigns
- Evaluate and report on activity and impact with suggestions for improvement
- Manage and update website content, including news articles, keeping information up to date with the latest research and guidelines

The World Obesity Federation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our MAPPS project team as a Health Systems Co-Ordinator. Purpose of the role:
Seasonal Worker Scheme (SWS) call handlers will be responsible for responding to a variety of forms of contact made through the SWS support line. You will work as part of a small but dynamic and friendly team responding to a variety of callers and contacts. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include answering incoming calls and contacts, making callouts, sending emails, drafting referrals to external agencies, and maintaining accurate data. You will form part of a triage service that will signpost callers and contacts to identified third parties who can deal appropriately with their enquiry. You will ensure all actions and data are recorded accurately and promptly to aid relevant follow up and close out of issues. You will be person-centred and deal with a variety of worker issues, including dealing with workers who may be in situations of exploitation. About Us
Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is a human rights charity that supports tropical forest peoples to protect their lands and livelihoods. We have 70 people on the team including human rights lawyers, anthropologists and social scientists working with communities and local organisations around the tropical belt. The role focuses on providing high-quality support to individuals in mental health crisis. You will assist clients during their stay, helping to reduce immediate distress and develop plans to prevent future crises. This includes working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary mental health services to ensure effective, multi-agency support. All interventions should reflect the organisation's values and commitment to recovery, co-production, and person-centred care, while following established policies and procedures.
This is on a shift rota across 7 days with shift starting as early as 07:00 and potentially finishing as late s 21:30 on the late shift.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
You will have demonstrable experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis needs, with a strong understanding of a range of mental health conditions, crisis management, and how to communicate with dignity and respect. You will be knowledgeable in relevant mental health legislation, including CPA processes, and committed to recovery-focused approaches. Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you will support and induct peer staff and volunteers while working effectively with statutory services such as the NHS. You will have a good awareness of health and safety and safeguarding responsibilities, alongside strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills to maintain clear and accurate records. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working across a shift pattern to include weekends.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and management

Through stable, person-centred care, you'll play a vital role in empowering women to rebuild their lives and embrace brighter futures.
In this role, as a Night Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provided person centred support to our residents, working to ensure the safety and wellbeing. Our residents have experienced multiple forms of exclusion, such as historical/ongoing abuse, involvement in the criminal justice system, mental health challenges, drug and/or alcohol dependency and enduring high levels of violence and coercion. You will build trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins. Your role will focus on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
Responsibilities include:
- Holding a caseload, conducting key work sessions which are personable to resident needs
- Carry out regular welfare checks, safeguarding checks, and general living checks
- Encourage residents to take part in activities and events both within the service and the community
- Keep support plans up to date on a regular basis

- Provide line management support and supervision to wellbeing workers (e.g. counsellors, practitioners, therapists, link workers and trainees).
- Work alongside a team of leads to support the running, development and management of the service.
- Lead induction, mentoring, and training of new staff, trainees, and volunteers.
- Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.
Core Clinical
- Carry out individual general counselling assessments of children and young people and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide guidance and oversight for complex or high-risk cases.
- Ensure all interventions are evidence-based, child-centred, and trauma-informed.
- Develop and oversee counselling protocols, therapeutic pathways, and risk assessment frameworks.
Safeguarding and Risk
- Lead and give oversight for safeguarding concerns, embedding a safeguarding-first culture across the service.
- Work to ensure all counsellors, staff, and link workers, are trained, confident, and compliant in safeguarding practice.
- Implement robust risk assessment and management processes.
- Monitor safeguarding incidents, identify themes, and strengthen safeguarding practice.
- Liaise with schools, health, social care, police, and other agencies in safeguarding matters.
Service Development
- Work with the Service Manager, Leads and Clinical Leads to strengthen and expand counselling provision, including group work.
- Triage referrals and represent the service in multi-agency triage meetings.
- Promote and develop opportunities for community participation and youth voice in service design.
- Build strong relationships with schools, health services, local authorities, commissioners, and community partners.
- Represent the service at local and regional forums, influencing CYP wellbeing strategies.

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
- More than 2 years post-qualified at graduate or post graduate level Counselling Diploma or equivalent [of two years minimum duration including personal counselling or psychotherapy].
- BACP Registration or Accreditation and/or other eligible Professional Accreditation e.g. UKCP/HPC.
- Strong team-management and line-management experience is required, including demonstrated experience in supervising, developing, and supporting staff.
- A good level of understanding in therapeutic or counselling theory and practice and working to short-term models.
- A sound understanding of child developmental processes, Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding issues and procedures, along with proven experience in safeguarding young children.
- Solid experience in delivering counselling and/or therapy and assessment, along with experience with dealing with complex cases.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working, with the ability to work within time-limited frameworks.
