The Public Interest News Foundation (PINF) is the UK’s first charity that exists to promote high-quality journalism. Last year, we launched an ambitious ten-year mission to regenerate local news in the UK. We believe that local news is a vital part of the fabric of local communities, drawing people together around shared facts and pride in place at a time of disinformation and division.
We are pursuing our mission by (1) sourcing new funds for local news; (2) advocating for supportive government policies; and (3) celebrating local news providers from the UK and around the world that are Accountable, Sustainable, in the Public interest, Innovative, Representative and Engaging (ASPIRE).
Over the last year, we have successfully encouraged the UK Government to launch an unprecedented new £12m Local News Fund. We have also built support for our mission from US and UK donors. And we have launched initiatives such as the Tenacious Journalist Awards, to recognise and support independent news providers who are having a significant social impact.

Purpose of the Role
The Programmes Officer will support the PINF team across our three workstreams: the Local News Fund; Local News Campaign; and Local News Futures programme.
· Through the Local News Fund, we work with grantmakers and social investors (including government-backed fund managers) to unlock new economic resources for local news across the UK.
· Through the Local News Campaign, we work with the BBC, big tech firms, central and local government, MPs, Peers and regulators to shape a positive enabling environment for local news across the UK.
· Through the Local News Futures programme, we work with academics, civil society organisations, journalism support organisations and local news providers to showcase models of local news with the most positive impact.
The Programmes Officer will provide support with events, research and campaigns across these workstreams, and will also provide support with our organisational functions, including communications, fundraising and governance.
By providing efficient and effective support to the team, the Programmes Officer will unlock new potential for PINF to deliver our charitable purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Events
· Support the Deputy Director with the successful delivery of the annual Local News Forum by:
o Maintaining a comprehensive and up to date project plan
o Contributing to the effective marketing of the event within PINF’s network of independent local news providers and stakeholders
o Managing ticket sales and maintaining an accurate database of invitees and participants
o Contributing to effective working relationships with partners and suppliers, including venues and sponsors
o Managing speakers
o Supporting budget administration, including tracking agreed expenditure and processing spending in line with approved budgets and under the oversight of the Deputy Director

Campaigns
· Support the Campaigns & Communications Manager with our campaign objectives by:
o Managing relationships with independent news providers participating in our annual Indie News Week
o Supporting budget administration for campaign activity, including tracking agreed expenditure and processing spending in line with approved budgets and under the oversight of the Campaigns & Communications Manager
o Supporting key campaign moments including parliamentary events, party conferences, roundtables and other online and offline events
o Providing logistical and administrative support for key campaign moments, including by maintaining participant and invitation lists, tracking RSVPs and preparing background information for colleagues
Communications
· Support the Campaigns & Communications Manager with our communications objectives by:
o Managing the ‘contact’ email inbox
o Supporting the delivery of engaging content across PINF’s blog and newsletter, including gathering stories, opportunities and other relevant material, in collaboration with the Campaigns & Communications Manager
o Managing PINF’s social media channels including LinkedIn, BlueSky and Instagram
o Updating elements and pages across our website

Fundraising

Digital Fundraising Officer - 12-month Maternity Cover
The Veterans' Foundation is entering its second decade with a clear ambition to build a more sustainable, diversified and data-led fundraising model. Following ten years of rapid growth driven primarily through lottery acquisition, the organisation is now evolving its approach to strengthen supporter engagement, improve retention and maximise fundraising performance across a wider range of income streams.
This role will play an important part in that transition. As the Foundation launches a new website, develops its use of Salesforce and strengthens its supporter communications, the Digital Fundraising Officer will help deliver effective digital fundraising and engagement activity across multiple channels. The postholder will support campaign delivery, manage digital content and platforms, and use data and insight to improve performance and supporter experience.
Principal Duties
The main duties of the Digital Fundraising Officer are:

The International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC), a learned society, is a charity and company limited by guarantee and registered in the UK. ISAC is a federation of Member Societies and delivers education via a number of different modalities including an in-person congress, peer reviewed journals and an online academy. Over recent months, ISAC carried out a strategy review and is now progressing priority strategic objectives. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer to advance a number of priorities under a general “communication” heading.
The Communications Officer will initially be employed part time (0.6 FTE) on a temporary basis (12 months). They will be line managed by the ISAC CEO and must be able to work within a pre-existing team. Principle duties and responsibilities will be to assist the Trustees and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the areas of Member Society and Industry engagement. Additional duties will include helping to develop SOPs to operationalise ISAC’s Communication Strategy, populate ISAC’s social media accounts, contribute to the redesign of ISAC’s website and provide cover for the CEO and Executive Officer, as required.

Outline Job Description
The ISAC Communications Officer will project manage the following areas of activity under the supervision of the CEO and in liaison with the Executive Officer.
1.1 Member Societies
The Communications Officer will:
1.1.1 Work with ISAC’s Member Society Engagement Group which is a sub group of the society’s Executive Committee, to realise their strategic objectives.
1.1.2 Make contact with each of the Society’s Member Societies (currently 107).
1.1.3 Undertake research if contact details are out of date to make the initial contact.
1.1.4 Open a dialogue with the Member Societies.
1.1.5 Request updated contact details and society information as required.
1.1.6 Produce a paper summarising the different areas of activity undertaken by ISAC’s Member Societies.
1.1.7 At the request of the CEO, send the Member Societies regular newsletters and updates about the Society and the benefits of membership.

1.1.9 Diarise AGMs or key annual / biennial meetings for when member society key personnel may change and proactively request updated information as these take place.

1.2 Liaison with Commercial Companies

1.2.3 Identify commercial companies (pharmaceutical / diagnostic) to add to ISAC’s industry database.
1.2.4 Aid ISAC’s Industry Liaison Group to complete an industry review and produce a strategy document to identify opportunities to increase commercial support for both the Society itself (if required) and for the biennial International Conference of Chemotherapy and Infection (ICC).
1.2.5 Identify key prospects.

Go Beyond has given over 21,000 vulnerable children life-changing residential breaks since 1994. Young carers who spend their days looking after parents. Children living in poverty for whom a school holiday means hunger, not adventure. Children who've been bullied or bereaved and need a week away from their ordinary life.

The Supporter Engagement & Fundraising Communications Manager will own the supporter communications function end to end. This is a project management and strategy role — not an execution role. Hft has turned a corner. After navigating a period of significant financial and operational challenge, we have delivered a major turnaround, reducing a £17 million deficit, stabilising our workforce, and restoring confidence across every level of the organisation.
Now, with a new and focused Executive Team working closely with our Senior Leadership Teams, clear governance, and a collective understanding of the need to embed sustainable improvement across all areas of the organisation, we are moving from recovery to transformation.
The Opportunity
You will lead the development and delivery of an integrated, organisation-wide approach to quality, safety, safeguarding and great practice. Your focus will be on ensuring people are supported to live safe, meaningful and aspirational lives. This role brings together quality assurance, safeguarding, safety and practice into a clear and consistent approach across a complex, national organisation.
You will drive and oversee quality, safety and governance systems that support them. You will maintain clear oversight of performance, risk and compliance, and provide assurance, insight and challenge to the Executive Team and the Board. You will ensure regulatory compliance, safeguarding, and health and safety systems are robust, responsive, and consistently upheld, but, importantly, rooted in the understanding that all of this is to make sure that the people supported have great lives.
Working closely with operational leaders, you will identify underperformance and support improvement. You will use data, audits, incidents, and feedback to generate insights and drive continuous improvement. You will also help shape a shared understanding of what great practice looks like across services.

Selection Process
We will be shortlisting applications on an ongoing basis. If your application is shortlisted, we will invite you to a pre-screening interview with a member of the senior hiring team. If you are successful at this stage, the final assessment process will include a competency-based interview, a presentation, and the opportunity to meet with key stakeholders to get to know the team and Hft.
