Stella Maris is the official maritime charity of the Catholic Church.  We are looking for a Regional Port Chaplain for the East Englia Ports to support seafarers, fishers and their families.

In this unique and rewarding role, you'll be the welcoming face of Stella Maris in your region, visiting ships, listening to crew members, and offering practical, pastoral and spiritual support to anyone in need, regardless of faith or background.

About the role

No two days are the same.  You might spend the morning visiting ships and listening to crew members' stories, help someone contact their family back home, support a seafarer in crisis, or offer a quiet moment of prayer on deck.

You'll also recruit and support a team of volunteers, work closely with other maritime charities and local partners, and build strong relationships with parishes, dioceses, and port authorities.  You'll be part of a nationwide network of Stella Maris chaplains, supported through regular meetings, retreats and professional development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Visit ships regularly to meet seafarers and fishers, responding to their pastoral, practical and spiritual needs.
• Provide practical help such as transport, communication access, and emergency or crisis support.
• Offer spiritual care to Catholic seafarers and facilitate the religious needs of those from other faiths.
• Recruit, train and support Stella Maris volunteers.
• Work collaboratively with other maritime charities.
• Maintain strong relationships with local parishes, the Diocese of East Anglia, and port stakeholders such as the Harbour Master, shipping agents and welfare committees.
• Support local fundraising and awareness initiatives alongside the charity's national team.

About you

You'll be someone who takes joy in helping others.  You don't need maritime experiences, what matters most is your empathy and ability to offer pastoral support in practical ways.

You may come from a background in chaplaincy, parish ministry, community work or social care.  You'll share our commitment to upholding the dignity of every seafarer and fisher.

• Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and management, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience.

• Champion innovation and best practice in mass participation fundraising, staying up to date with sector trends.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Proven experience delivering successful mass participation or challenge events, ideally within the charity sector.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills, including supporter stewardship and partnership working.
• Experience managing budgets, logistics, and risk assessments for large scale events.
• Confident using digital tools and CRM systems to support event delivery and supporter journeys.
• Creative, proactive, and results driven, with a passion for fundraising and community engagement.
• A collaborative team player with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

About the role and you

We are looking for a data professional to support and manage significant changes in the way our charity uses, processes and manages data. We are looking for a Data Scientist/Analyst to help us make this change. You will be based in the LFF Research Team, reporting to our Director of Research and Impact.

This role will facilitate better use, processing and management of data across the organisation. It will focus on four areas:

• Data systems and structures
• Data analysis
• Data visualisation
• Data security and compliance

The postholder will work alongside experienced researchers to develop a new portfolio of priority projects to enhance our work. With no fixed task list or assigned service, this role offers the freedom to explore and innovate, identifying where data, data science, and data systems can drive real change.

This role will be remote or hybrid - we have offices in Bromsgrove, Epsom and Edinburgh.

The Digital and Operational Lead will lead the development and day-to-day delivery of the eoa’s digital systems including our AMS and SSoT (iMIS) and member community platform (Thrive by Higher Logic), operational infrastructure, and working environment (office and WFH).

The role will ensure the smooth running of core business systems and services, embedding a data-driven, member-focused approach and supporting the delivery of our ambitious sector growth strategy.

Systems, Technology, and Intelligence

• Lead the delivery, development, and optimisation of our digital infrastructure, including implementation of AI, liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure business critical systems are maintained, secure, and future-proofed.

The Public Fundraising Manager will lead the individual giving, in-memory, legacies, challenge events and community fundraising activities, building on strong foundations that are already in place across these areas. The Manager will be responsible for around £400,000 of income per year, largely across challenge events, community fundraising, and individual giving. You will be an ambitious professional individual who will go above and beyond to help raise the charity’s profile, build the supporter base, and deliver exceptional standards of donor care to grass roots supporters.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the postholder will have experience in at least one or more of the key public fundraising areas: individual giving, challenge events, community fundraising, legacy and in memory fundraising. You will be an exceptional relationship builder with strong emotional intelligence and influencing skills, providing a creative and ambitious approach to fundraising with evidence of public speaking and crafting compelling proposals and impact stories.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Head of Acquisition
Location: Hybrid working with some travel to Hearing Dogs offices in either Buckinghamshire or East Yorkshire.
Salary: Circa £56,000 per annum.
Contract: Permanent, full-time hours. 

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to build confidence, companionship and connection for people with hearing loss, is seeking a Head of Acquisition to lead and grow recruitment across individual giving, legacy and regular giving channels, as well as attracting new volunteers and service users.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support. This is coupled with the provision of emotional and practical support services for anyone with hearing loss.

Following a strategic review, the charity is now entering an exciting period of growth and expanding their Individual Giving programme within the Performance Marketing and Communications Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK.

Playing a pivotal role in this transformation, the Head of Acquisition will drive sustainable income growth through innovative, data-driven acquisition campaigns targeting new supporters, donors, lottery players and legacy pledgers that deepen engagement and bring the charity’s brand story to life. The role will ensure that every acquisition activity clearly communicates the impact of Hearing Dogs’ work, connecting supporter action to life-changing outcomes for people who are deaf or have hearing loss. At the same time, the post-holder will be responsible for championing strategies to reach more people who can volunteer for, and benefit from, the charity’s vital services.

The ideal candidate will be a leader in supporter or customer acquisition in a not for profit or commercial environment, with a strong track record in delivering successful campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, face-to-face, direct marketing and fundraising products (eg lottery, legacy and regular giving). You will have experience in developing strategic investment cases and multi-year acquisition strategies, grounded in data insight and performance engagement. You will have also have a background in brand-led campaigns and communicating organisational impact to engage and convert audiences. Finally, you will have excellent communication and relationship management skills.

The Cathedral has a particular responsibility to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Cathedral community. It shares this responsibility with the Diocese of St Albans. This work is wide‑ranging, and the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) plays a central role in maintaining good safeguarding practice.

This part‑time role (15 hours per week) becomes vacant as the current postholder retires after four years, with time planned for handover with the person appointed to the role now. The CSO works with senior staff and the governing body to help lead policy development, training, reporting, and compliance with Church of England guidance. They report to the Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care and receive regular professional supervision from the National Safeguarding Team, with occasional networking with other CSOs.

Safeguarding is recognised as a shared leadership responsibility. The CSO meets weekly with senior clergy to review cases and will also work with the newly appointed non‑executive Safeguarding Lead on Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body.

A core part of the role is promoting safeguarding awareness across the Cathedral community and understanding all activities involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The CSO provides professional advice on concerns raised, ensuring responses follow law and national policy, and works closely with diocesan and national safeguarding teams on complex cases. They also ensure appropriate support for survivors and proper management of those who pose risk.

About You

The Cathedral is seeking candidates with strong knowledge and professional experience in relation to safeguarding issues and proven experience working collaboratively in teams.

The post will require some flexibility in working patterns and will therefore require occasional weekend working and the ability to respond to urgent cases.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification and relevant experience and expertise in child and/or adult protection.

About the Role

As Fundraising Manager, you will work closely with, and be fully supported by, the Director to execute and implement PILC’s fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on trusts and foundations. You’ll be a skilled fundraiser with demonstrable experience in securing income from trusts and foundations.

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time), or part-time, with flexible working around core hours

Salary: £41,814 - £47,464 per annum (from 1 April 2026)

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong, strategic pipeline of trust and foundation prospects aligned with organisational priorities and funding needs.
• Grow PILC’s individual donor and supporter base.
• Work closely with the Director and project teams to translate our legal and advocacy work into clear, compelling funding propositions.
• Manage the full grants cycle, ensuring excellent stewardship and compliance with funder requirements.
• Build new relationships with trusts and foundations and steward relationships with existing funders.
• Secure income from trusts and foundations, including developing multi-year or higher-value grants over time.
• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with PILC’s Ethical Fundraising Policy and relevant regulations.
