About Us:
Thank you for your interest in our Country Manager role. ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Since 2006, we have successfully neutered nearly 20,000 cats and dogs, significantly impacting Romania's severe overpopulation of animals.
Job Overview:
As the Country Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of ROLDA in the UK. This is a remote position (for now) that requires strategic thinking, people management skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to achieving our organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement growth strategies for the organisation.
Drive initiatives such as increasing adoptions, fostering programmes, volunteer engagement, and support fundraising activities.
Support Fundraising Manager with income generation growth
Research and Insight:
Represent the charity externally and liaise with other charities, including other ROLDA branches.
Stay informed about industry trends, research, and insights to inform organisational strategies.
People Management:
Empower and develop the small operational team, including volunteers providing leadership and necessary resources for successful completion of initiatives.
Support the recruitment of volunteers.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment and strong relationships with stakeholders.
Manage and evaluate team performance, providing guidance and feedback as necessary.
Maintain effective communication with the UK and international team of ROLDA and its partners, collaborators.
Financial Management:

What's the role about?
For the key strategic business partnership within the dairy sector the role will visit farmer-suppliers and provide in-person habitat advice, and speak with farmers remotely (via Teams / Zoom) to understand their farming operation and provide habitat advice.
You will use this insight and experience to help inform the marketing tools and advisory programme for broader supply chain (other farms) within the partnership.
For other Fair to Nature farmers, and businesses directly linked to them, you will prepare for and complete advisory visits and follow up with applicant Fair to Nature farmers and share the benefits of Fair to Nature certification. Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of land management practices that deliver nature and wider environment benefits on farmland.

- Understanding of agricultural systems and how conservation management may impact on farming practice.
- Able to communicate effectively with farmers and advise them on land management for nature.

Friends of the Holy Land has a small network of volunteer supporters around the country and an expanding number of financial donors. To be successful, you will have experience of working with in house Health and Safety systems, covering risk areas associated with volunteers. You will have a NEBOSH certificate and be a member of the institute of Occupational Safety and Health. You will have an in-depth knowledge, and up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, particularly those that relate to the voluntary/charity sector. You will have experience of risk assessment, inspection and auditing procedures, with experience managing the health and safety of either properties or transport. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to build effective working relationships with volunteers.

We are looking to recruit a HOPELINE247 Manager to enable the delivery of an outstanding suicide prevention helpline, through the effective management of HOPELINE247 advisers, alongside the promotion and development of the service.
What you will do:
Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.
Ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered through effective quality assurance processes.
Manage staffing and resources effectively to ensure the efficient running of the helpline service.
Risk assess and provide advice and guidance to the team, in relation to safeguarding matters, in line with policy and procedures.
Provide ad hoc rota cover to support a range of clients via multi-channel communications, adhering to HOPELINE247 remit at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A proven track record of building and managing an effective team, supporting their development and managing their performance.
Previous experience of building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings.
Previous successful experience of working in suicide prevention or mental health.
Awareness of the issues around safeguarding and how these can affect young people and adults at risk.
Degree level or a professional qualification in Health, Nursing, Social Work, Community Work or a related discipline.
Salary: £34,224 per annum (Scale point 29), progressing by increments to £36,869.25 per annum (Scale point 32). As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £10 per night shift. This will be paid on a monthly basis along with the salary.
Hours: 33 hours per week
Working arrangements: This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 07:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week. 33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

Managing all aspects of the customer sales journey, this role will lead and deliver an effective, timely and professional customer journey and experience, maximising income potential and repeat business to ensure performance against team sales targets and to enable the society to continue to improve its offering for autistic people.
This role will work closely with colleagues across Autism Know How, Marketing, CRM and Business Development departments, and other relevant NAS teams where required.
