Dementia UK is currently seeking two Database Officers to lead on the delivery of processes within the Database Services team.
As a Database Officer, your primary responsibility will be managing a substantial volume of data files from a variety of sources, seamlessly importing this information into our fundraising database. You will handle supporter data ensuring a high level of accuracy, while being directly responsible for running the majority of data imports as well as handling enquires coming into the Database Services shared inbox and running regular data cleansing routines.
In addition, you will be expected to maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed. Working with the Supporter Care, Finance, and Fundraising teams to ensure income is accurately coded across all fundraising streams and maintaining the accuracy of database process guidance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection guidelines including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will bring previous experience in using databases for data entry, maintenance, and importation. A high level of computer literacy is essential, and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required. Your ability to function effectively within a team, coupled with your initiative in prioritising and organising your workload, will be key to success.
With the charity’s move from Raiser’s Edge to Dynamics 365, you will also be involved in the testing of the new database, training of end users, and the writing of new process documentation. This role is part of a brand-new service which is being delivered across Liverpool and will provide dedicated energy and welfare support to individuals who are vulnerable and in or at risk of fuel poverty.
As Energy Adviser, you will provide a multi-channel advice service, including home visits, to fuel poor and vulnerable consumers who are struggling to pay their bills or require better deals on energy. That advice will include:
- guidance on the most appropriate payment methods.
- information on how to access help from energy suppliers.
- energy efficiency measures and ways to save on bills.
- information about Smart Meters.
- maximising benefit and other income.
About the Role
Advice Giving
- Deliver a multi-channel advice service, including home visits, to clients regarding their energy needs and income maximisation support, ensuring advice provided meets the requirements of Citizens Advice quality standards.
- Ensure all case recording and other record keeping is completed within agreed timescales and conforms to the Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standards
- Use sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and to identify the next course of action.
- Use a range of information sources to find relevant information, then interpret and communicate this to clients, enabling them to tackle fuel poverty and financial hardship for the long-term.
- Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer internally or to other specialist agencies as appropriate.
- Meet the individual performance targets set as part of this project.
Research & Campaigning
- Take an active role in the research and campaigns process by identifying trends and social policy issues and communicating these to the Project Supervisor and Research & Campaigns Co-ordinator.
- Keep up to date with current research and campaigns priorities, initiatives and plans.
Administration
- Collect and record all relevant information given during interviews on to Casebook to meet the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the project.
- Be self-administering and undertake general administration tasks e.g. taking messages; photocopying, collating, filing; processing post etc.
- Professional development
- Pass the City and Guilds NEA Level Energy Awareness exam within 2 months of starting the role.
- Keep up to date with relevant energy advice issues and maintain an up to date working knowledge of all new relevant legislation through:
- Attending training opportunities.
- Reading monthly subscriptions, relevant publications and Citizens Advice Updates.
- Prepare for and attend supervision sessions/team meetings/staff meetings/forums, as appropriate.
- Identify and implement your own learning and development needs.
Other duties and responsibilities
- If required, work from a variety of Citizens Advice Liverpool outlets across the city as required over the course of the week.
- Promote the aims, policies, and membership requirements of the Citizens Advice service.
- Ensure all processes and procedures that relate to the responsibilities of the role are delivered with a high level of awareness of the organisation’s equality and diversity ethos and policies.
- Be a positive ambassador for Citizens Advice Liverpool.
- Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues.
- You will also need to have passed the City and Guilds NEA Level Energy Awareness exam within 2 months of starting the role.

About Cosmic
Cosmic is a small but mighty children’s charity dedicated to supporting the incredible work of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith. We provide vital funding for life-saving equipment, specialist staff training, and pioneering research. We also deliver our own emotional and practical family support services - making a real difference for children and families when they need it most.
The Role
This role will be pivotal in connecting Cosmic with the families we support and our NHS units across both hospital sites, by managing service delivery and fostering continuous engagement. The postholder will lead and coordinate our new Post-Discharge Support service, working closely with families, the NHS Family Liaison Team, and counsellors. They will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of service delivery projects - focusing on the experiences and impact on both NHS staff and families - while ensuring efficiency and value for money through careful cost assessment.
NHS Engagement & Relationship Management
▪ Build strong partnerships with PICU and NICU teams to embed Cosmic’s presence, raise awareness, and identify areas for support.
▪ Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and deliver projects that improve patient, family and staff experiences - maintaining an up-to-date pipeline of funding needs.
▪ Liaise directly with families on the units to understand their needs and explore how Cosmic can offer practical and emotional support, helping to build trusted relationships and inform future service development.
▪ Organise engagement activities and events to promote Cosmic across the units, ensuring consistent branding and visibility.
▪ Represent Cosmic at senior staff hospital meetings, forums and working groups, sharing feedback and opportunities with the wider team.
▪ Manage project timelines, budgets, KPIs and reporting to senior management and funders.
Engagement Campaigns
▪ Create, promote and mobilise staff on our units to deliver a yearly schedule of engagement campaigns. Work with staff to develop new and existing campaigns; creating and implementing the plans as appropriate.
▪ To keep abreast of any key or newsworthy/trending national developments and topics relating to PICU & NICU care and the NHS and develop campaigns as appropriate.
Post Discharge Support Project
▪ Manage development and delivery of Cosmic’s new pioneering family support service after intensive care.
▪ Develop, in partnership with the units, service delivery models that include services provided, and their impact.
▪ Develop project budgets with the COO, monitoring and evaluating them to ensure projects are delivered on budget.
▪ Oversee ongoing evaluation and development of the service to ensure it meets targets and desired outcomes.
▪ Work with our supporters and past patients and families in the development of projects and services.
▪ Work closely with the Family Liaison Nurse, who will interact directly with families benefiting from the service, to ensure their needs and experiences inform the ongoing development of the project.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
▪ Develop and implement data metrics and gathering points to measure and analyse the impact of Cosmic’s services, supporting outcomes reporting and strategic decision-making.
▪ Utilise strong IT skills for database modelling and data interpretation, ensuring timely data capture in collaboration with clinical staff to enhance service delivery and promote awareness.
▪ Monitor and report on the impact of Cosmic’s work to support funding efforts and improve overall effectiveness.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a confident and organised professional who can manage high-impact projects, work effectively with NHS colleagues, and deliver meaningful services for families and staff. You’ll need to be comfortable juggling multiple priorities while keeping a clear focus on outcomes and relationships.

The Junior Salesforce Administrator role supports the effective use and ongoing development of the Churchill Fellowship’s Salesforce CRM platform and related applications. Working closely with the Salesforce Team and other internal teams, you will ensure our data remains accurate and accessible, help to improve business processes, and provides user support and training across the organisation. Salesforce Administration and Support:
