Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families impacted by poverty in Manchester and Salford.
We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We give clothes, bedding and baby equipment to struggling families, along with toys and books which are important for children’s wellbeing and development.
We support engagement in education by helping families with the costs of school uniform and run Book Roadshow events in schools to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We work to raise awareness about child poverty and help thousands of children and their families every year.
We are looking to recruit a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our growing team, as we take Wood Street Mission to the next level. You will be responsible for managing and delivering our Grants and Trusts income stream, developing long-term relationships with funders, and building on our small but successful track record. The Grants and Trusts Fundraiser is a pivotal role in helping us to accelerate our growth even further so we can help more children to thrive free from poverty.
The role is flexible between the office in Manchester and working from home.
Purpose of post
As the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating the charity’s work across our five projects into compelling, high-quality applications for a range of audiences. Working collaboratively with the wider charity team, you will have a hands-on role in understanding our projects to ensure you can authentically convey our mission and our impact to funders.
You will provide excellent care to existing and new supporters, ensuring reporting requirements are met and that funders are kept informed of how their support has enabled the charity to continue its work.
A key responsibility will be to contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan. You will work to identify, secure and develop a robust pipeline of grant funders to maximise income and enable continued growth and sustainability of Wood Street Mission’s work.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. To contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan as agreed with the Fundraising Lead, to support the charity’s strategy
2. Meet agreed key performance indicators and to monitor and report on these targets
3. To keep up to date with funding policies and grant giving organisation news to inform the fundraising plan
4. To work closely with the Fundraising Lead and other members of the team to ensure a coordinated approach and excellent level of care for supporters, through appropriate and engaging communication methods
5. To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising targets
6. Frequently report on progress of Grants and Trusts fundraising to the Fundraising Lead
7. Work with the wider charity team to build a bank of individual stories and information for each of the five projects, to develop a Case for Support which can be adapted to different audiences
8. To work with the Fundraising Lead and the charity team to carry out a Full Cost Recovery exercise across all five projects, to provide a clear overview of the charity’s income and expenditure budget
9. Write comprehensive and persuasive applications to funders and prepare tailored presentations for a range of supporters
10. Build, nurture and account manage relationships with grant giving organisations, providing impact assessments, case studies and progress reports as required
11. Implement an effective stewardship process to maximise income and encourage long-term support, so funders feel appreciated and understand how their support has made an impact
12. Ensure grants are acknowledged promptly and reporting requirements are met within agreed timescales
13. To work alongside colleagues within the charity to identify potential grant funding opportunities and potential cross team working opportunities to ensure the charity maximises income across all income streams
14. Maintain up-to-date and accurate funder and volunteer records on the Beacon database, and to input data, donations and consent preferences, ensuring all data processing is GDPR compliant
15. To provide general administrative support to the Fundraising team
16. To represent Wood Street Mission as required at special events, and to proactively seek out new funding prospects and networking opportunities
17. To act as an ambassador for Wood Street Mission and promote the charity
18. To champion the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice, upholding a high standard of fundraising that is legal, open, honest and respectful
Other areas and general work duties:
1. Work collaboratively on a daily basis with the wider charity team, including the Finance, Marketing, Administration and Project Development/Worker team

3. To attend and participate constructively in staff meetings, supervision and appraisal
4. To implement Wood Street Mission policies and guidelines as set out in the staff handbook
5. To undertake training to develop knowledge, skills and confidence as agreed with your manager

Personal Specification
Experience:
· Experience working in a fundraising or customer care environment
· Experience of working towards targets and with a wide range of stakeholders
· Experience of writing and developing funding applications, proposals and budgets
· Experience of delivering presentations to different audiences in a variety of settings
· Experience of using a CRM for data analysis and reporting
· Success in securing high-value trust and grants (Desired)

About the Role
One of Learning with Parents’ objectives over the next five years is to evidence how best to drive inclusive parental engagement. We are looking for an individual with experience in monitoring and evaluation to join our team.
The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for evaluating our programmes to capture the impact we have, inform improvements internally and share insights externally. The role will begin with implementing an existing evaluation plan and develop into leading improvements and innovations in our evaluation strategy. It will involve primary research, such as leading focus groups in schools, as well as analysis of quantitative and qualitative data generated by our platform and surveys of parents and teachers. It will also involve reporting this data and supporting others to do so. The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for maintaining tools and processes around evaluation and ensuring strong internal and external communications of findings.
This is a role which involves extensive collaboration across different internal teams and with external stakeholders such as schools and funders.
Areas of Responsibility
Evaluation design and planning

Improve, develop and innovate on existing evaluation strategies to better capture our impact and the voices of our stakeholders – school leaders, teachers, parents and children.

Liaise with project leads to ensure that evaluation is planned into projects from the start.

The RSPCA York, Harrogate & District Branch is seeking to increase its fundraising activity in order to secure the funding neccessary to completely rebuild the York Animal Home. We are looking to bring on an experienced individual to design, launch and lead our capital campaign and raise the remaining funds needed to complete the project.
The Capital Campaign Lead will take overall responsibility for planning, leading and delivering the £5m capital appeal over the next few years. This includes developing the case for support, managing campaign phases, cultivating major donors and funders, and ensuring strong governance, reporting and stewardship throughout the campaign.
The York Animal Home was built in 1980 and no longer meets modern welfare, licensing or operational requirements. Demand for our services is rising sharply, while the complexity and scale of cases continues to grow. As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will help ensure London Youth is a credible, influential voice on issues affecting young people and the organisations that support them. Sitting within the Fundraising and Communications Directorate, you will work closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and youth participation, communciations, fundraising and delivery colleagues to deliver demonstrable external influence and impact.

You will successfully represent the voice of London Youth's members and the young people they support, helping to secure greater recognition, investment, and support for youth services. At a time of significant change across the youth sector, you will play a central role in campaigning for systematic change and in building the profile of London Youth and the wider voluntary sector as the Government's 10-year National Youth Strategy, Youth Matters, is implemented. What you will be doing
You will lead the development and delivery of London Youth's policy and public affairs work, building a clear and consistent understanding of the London and national context for young people and youth organisations. You will monitor emerging political and policy developments and relevant funding announcements, providing insight and analysis to identify opportunities for engagement. You will draft swift organisational responses to key policy announcements, in collaboration with the CEO and communications team, and ensure relevant intelligence and opportunties inform the work of the fundraising team.
You will develop, maintain, and communicate evidence-based policy positions, insights, and priorities, convening our members regularly to inform clear policy asks and advocacy. You will shape briefings and consultation responses that reflect the needs of London Youth's members and the young people they support. You will shape policy positions and provide high-quality briefings ahead of key senior-level engagements.
You will oversee and track our policy influencing activity, identifying emerging policy developments, coordinating internal input, engaging stakeholders and representing London Youth in external policy and public affairs forums, and reporting on the impact of our policy work.
You will strengthen policy work through insight and engagement, analysig relevant data and research from our membership and working with the Learning and Impact Lead to ensure insights from London Youth's network inform policy development. You will also identify opportunities for members and young people from our Youth Board to engage in policy work, including through consultations, networks, and events.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with key London and national stakeholders, identifying opportunities for partnership working with other organisations and ensuring London Youth has a visible, credible voice in debates affecting young people.

What you bring to the role
Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong understanding of how policy is developed in the London and national context, and experience of engaging with political agendas on behalf of a charitable or membership organisation.

● Own and deliver key communications projects including website development, the
annual Impact Report, and organisational campaigns—from strategy through to execution,
ensuring quality, impact and measurable results
● Drive and shape communications and advocacy strategy, identifying opportunities to
amplify survivor voices, influence key audiences, and build Ella's profile as a thought leader
on trafficking and exploitation issues
Key Responsibilities
Integrated communications & Marketing
● Lead the delivery of Ella’s communications and marketing strategy across digital and offline
channels.
● Create clear, compelling and consistent content that reflects Ella’s values and brand.
● Lead communications projects such as website development, the annual Impact Report and
organisational campaigns.
● Maintain shared content calendars and planning tools to ensure joined-up delivery and
integrated communications.
Digital, Website & Social Media Content
● Create and manage content for Ella’s website, ensuring it remains current,
engaging and accessible.
● Plan and create social media content in collaboration with colleagues across the organisation.
● Monitor digital performance and engagement, using insights to improve reach and impact.
Programme, Impact & Ethical Storytelling
● Work with programme teams to gather stories, outcomes and insights in an ethical,
trauma-informed way.
● Develop case studies and impact content that demonstrate Ella’s work to funders, partners
and the public.
● Ensure survivor voices are represented respectfully, safely and with consent.
Stakeholder & External Communications
● Support communications with funders, partners, supporters and wider audiences (with
particular focus on supporting the development of our individual giving programme).
● Assist with press releases, briefings and external opportunities as required.
● Ensure messaging supports both awareness-raising and the development of Ella’s supporter
pipeline.
Advocacy and Campaigning
● Support the design and delivery of Ella’s advocacy and campaigning pilot activity focused on
2–3 priority issues affecting survivors.
● Develop accessible, survivor-centred messaging that highlights systemic barriers and
opportunities for change.
● Coordinate advocacy-related content across channels, including blogs, social media,
briefings and campaign materials.
● Work with colleagues to test, monitor and refine advocacy approaches during the pilot phase
● Help document learning and recommendations to inform the future development of a
permanent advocacy function.
Monitoring, Reporting and Good Practice:
● Track communications and campaign activity and contribute to internal reporting.
● Ensure all communications comply with safeguarding, data protection and accessibility
standards.
● Maintain organised records of content, assets and approvals.
