Rape Crisis South London are currently looking for a highly skilled and passionate professional Adult Counsellor to join our organisation on a part-time basis (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays).
The successful candidate will have good knowledge within the Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) movement; experience working with the effects of Trauma, especially Sexual abuse trauma; experience of providing counselling by using an intersectional lens and able to demonstrate an understanding of how overlapping identities shape women’s experiences of trauma, particularly those from Black and minoritised ethnic backgrounds.
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and experience of working integrative, maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries and adhering to the ethical framework the organisation’s professional body. These are innovative roles to develop social prescribing in the local NHS. Based in one of the six Primary Care Networks (PCN) you will work in different GP practices across that Network to deliver their specific priorities. You will join a team of ten Social Prescribing Link Workers working in Haringey PCNs and be part of a wider community-based Borough team which offers information, signposting and short-term support across the eight localities in Haringey.
Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing through referral to non-medical Social Prescribing Link Workers, who give time, focus on ‘what matters to me’ and take a holistic approach, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.
Social prescribing can help to strengthen community resilience and personal resilience and reduces health inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities. It particularly works for people with long-term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.
At the centre of the social prescribing process is the Social Prescribing Link Worker, working with GP Practices in a Primary Care Network, who connects patients who are referred to a range of activities and services in the local area depending on their needs, interests and capacity for engagement. This is a complex role as the SPLW will need to have good interpersonal skills to engage with the patient and have a comprehensive knowledge of the services and activities available in the local area.

Are you passionate about supporting families with the guidance and support their need to live within the community and thrive as a family? We are recruiting for a Therapeutic Worker to join our specialist Family Residential Service in Sheffield. The service provides drug and alcohol recovery support for parents and their children in a residential setting.
The Role
Your role in our therapeutic community will be key. You’ll manage a caseload, assess the people who use our service and manage their care plans. It will mean developing and applying a range of therapeutic approaches to meet their individual needs, whether that’s employment, education, health, or their ability to interact socially. You’ll be the one who sees that everything is coordinated from the moment they’re referred to us to the time that they leave.
As a Therapeutic Worker, you will support individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme to achieve outcomes that help create long-term recovery. Using the Therapeutic Community “community as method” model you will empower individuals, families and communities to be confident about recovery.
You will support the day to day running of the therapeutic community, ensuring service user needs are met and the best possible care is provided in an environment that promotes a culture of recovery in line with a recovery orientated system of care and the Quality Principles. Managing a service user case load, providing end-to-end care co-ordination from admission to discharge planning ensuring care plans meet the needs of both service users and stakeholders. Whilst also being confident to deliver therapeutic groups, activities, and specialised interventions in accordance with the TC manual and the needs of the service.
Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Support Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.
This is a full-time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week. You will be expected to work a 6-week rolling rota which includes evening and weekend working.
The service is based close to Eccelsall Road/Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus area of Sheffield, it is easily accessible. Situated in a large Victorian Building, fully refurbished in 2022, there is free on-site parking as well and is also easily access by multiple bus routes.

About You
You will need:
- An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within drug and alcohol recovery.
- Experience of working with families, and individuals in the substance use sector or related field.
- The ability to be innovative and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker. Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide phone-based holistic support for women with complex needs who want support or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.
This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver a call and email-based case work system. Who are we?
St. John's is a non-maintained specialist provision, working with autistic people, the majority of whom also have learning disabilities. Some of our learners have co-occurring conditions such as epilepsy, hearing or visual impairments, or mental health needs. We also support autistic learners who have an additional profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) syndrome. Floating Support Worker
We have a new role available for a Floating Support Worker to work with vulnerable Adults across the seven West London Boroughs to support them maintaining tenancies after time experiencing homelessness.

Location: West London Area
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time (37.5hrs)
Salary: £27,636 Per Annum (ILW) Plus Pension and Other Benefits

About the Role
As a Floating Support Worker, you will work with adults who have experienced homelessness to help them maintain their accommodation and improve their quality of life. Supporting people across the seven West London boroughs, you’ll provide tailored, person-centred support that empowers people to live more independently.
Key Deliverables include:
• Interview and assess clients in order to determine suitability for the service.
• Following initial assessment to go through a programme of work with clients accepted to cover accommodation needs, independent living skills, support with work and learning and social and emotional issues, then subsequent referrals to relevant agencies.
• Where clients have moved in to accommodation, the worker will provide support through a programme of regular visits. These may include support and advice or more structured life-skills training as required.
• To be available to deal with clients who need help or advice, either by phone or on a drop-in basis.
• Create a package of support around the client, signposting where appropriate.
• To be available to represent Depaul UK at meetings concerning the client, supporting or advocating on their behalf.
• Keep clear and relevant records and statistics, and to ensure good communication with the project workers and project evaluators.
• Make a positive contribution to team meetings, Case management meetings and make a contribution to any policy reviews and consultations.
About You
You’ll be committed to supporting vulnerable people to build their confidence and independence. You’ll also bring:
• Able to work on own initiative but at same time able to exercise sound judgement in knowing when to consult with peers and clients to meet the service KPI’s
• A clear understanding and ability to implement risk management, information sharing and data security arrangements.
• Awareness of and commitment to equal opportunity and diversity practise. Ability to promote and implement diversity practice and policies and treat colleagues and clients fairly and with respect.
• Demonstrate ability to use IT to a level which will enable high quality reporting to be carried out. This should include an ability to use data capture systems including running queries and reports.
• Experience of helping vulnerable people with setting up benefits and maintaining their accommodation, especially people who have experienced homelessness.
• Experience of working with people who are categorized as vulnerable or have complex needs such as mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic violence and offending behavior. (this list is not exhaustive)
• Knowledge and understanding of the criminal Justice system and benefits system.
• Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and professional boundaries when working with vulnerable people.
