The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring appropriate governance and compliance with charity commission requirements and our obligations to our funders. Leadership experience in the charity sector or in a service organisation supporting people with disabilities is essential.

- Knowledge and experience of the voluntary sector
- Direct experience of operational management in a health or social care sector and service providing organisation
- Experience of managing contracts
- Evidence of successful collaborative working with public sector management, professional practitioners and/or commissioners

Overview of the Role
As a Welfare Benefits Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in making benefit claims and accessing the support they need. You will join a busy team that supports thousands of disabled people and carers across the borough and specifically provide a bespoke home visiting service to our most vulnerable clients.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Benefit Claims Assistance:

Provide guidance and support to individuals in understanding their eligibility for various welfare benefits, including Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, and Attendance Allowance.

Assist clients in completing benefit application forms accurately and efficiently.

Stay updated on changes to welfare benefit regulations and policies to provide accurate information to clients.

Home Visiting Service:

Conduct home visits to assess clients' needs and provide personalised support in accessing welfare benefits.

Victim Support is proud to have been commissioned to provide an Affected by Crime (ABC) service across Humberside which will provide a single point of contact for victims of all crime, whether or not they have reported to the police, to receive support and information.
The ABC service will be a valuable point of contact for anyone affected by crime at any time to contact and receive help, support and information. It will be a busy and fast paced hub, receiving calls of varying nature from a variety of people. We have opportunities available to work within the Humberside ABC service and are looking for dedicated, passionate and empathic people to join and enhance our team.
The Children & Young People Support Worker (known internally as a Victim Care Advocate- Cope & Recovery CYP) role will provide a support and advocacy service to children and young people who have been affected by crime. This role is initially for a fixed term period, ending on 31st March 2025 to cover secondment.

About the role:
Your role as a CYP caseworker will be as a single point of contact for children and young people who have been affected by crime along with their wider family, parent or guardian. As a Caseworker, you will;
- receive incoming referrals from a range of sources including the police, other agencies & individuals
- assess needs & risks & action plans with those affected by crime
- use our case management system to update case notes & record risk & needs
- give up to date information to victims of crime about the criminal justice system process
- liaise with other agencies to provide advocacy for the service user
- work with other criminal justice system agencies to ensure a trauma informed & victim friendly response
- promote the service ensuring the service is accessible & open to all
You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations. You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. Using your organisation and planning skills, you will work with carers with learning disabilities to create and implement a timetable of speakers, workshops, and training sessions to support carers in their role. You will also provide one-on-one advocacy support to carers, assisting them in increasing their knowledge of caring and ensuring they have access to necessary information.
You will also provide advocacy to ensure people with learning disabilities can secure their rights and entitlements, maximise their income, deal with crises and work to prevent them, access services and the community, and be valued as citizens.
About the person
You will have:
- experience of working with people with learning disabilities or other vulnerable groups
- experience of supporting vulnerable people in crisis or preventing crisis with a range of issues including finances, debt, housing, managing change, accessing rights and entitlements
- ability to work using own initiative, prioritising work, case management and time management
- ability to adapt communication depending on the needs of the person
- excellent IT skills including using Microsoft Office packages
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
As part of your professional development in the role, the successful candidate will be supported to complete their Level 2, or Level 4, Advocacy qualification as appropriate.

Your new role
We are looking for a new Tenancy Management Worker to join our small and friendly team to manage a caseload of customers who have complex needs including mental health conditions, substance misuse, homelessness, and a possible history of offending.
Your job will be to work closely with these individuals to promote independent living and help them to achieve and sustain their tenancies. This is a challenging and varied job which is often rewarding, particularly when the people we have supported achieve their own goals and move on to build better lives.
What you will need to succeed
You will need experience of working with people with complex needs ideally in a supported or social housing setting and have the resilience to support people with a diverse range of mental health conditions to overcome barriers to independent living.
It is important that the right candidate is an excellent communicator, able to listen and understand people’s needs but also confident communicating and liaising with other local services and partner agencies to ensure each person has the right support in place.
An excellent working knowledge of safeguarding practices for protecting vulnerable people is also key to this role and the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate proven experience of this.
Ideally, an understanding of the issues which arise within the social housing sector or experience working in a similar role would be an advantage.
You will need to be a good team player, with the ability to work well with others and be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
This is an essential car user role as it requires extensive travel to and from tenants’ properties in Lancashire.

Established in 1997, Jigsaw4u provide a range of services for children, young people and families experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties in South West London. As a member of our Senior Management Team (SMT), you will help to deliver and shape Jigsaw4u's vision and strategy.
