York Carers Centre is an independent charity that helps unpaid carers in York access the support they need. We currently have an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a genuine interest in using their experience and skills to support young people.
A key part of the role will involve maintaining a high quality, effective service through the delivery of one-to-one support for the most vulnerable high need young people and liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies, including developing relationships with schools, to ensure young carers and families access relevant information and support for their needs.
The posts involve organising and delivering activities/group work. Applicants will require excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to use their experience and creativity to effectively plan and deliver a variety of initiatives which ensure young carers have fun, develop healthy networks and improve their health and wellbeing.
To be successful, you will need:
· To be able to work effectively and engage sensitively with children and young people aged 5 – 18 years
· To be empathetic and compassionate with excellent communication and engagement skills
· Experience and skills in building positive relationships with young people and their families, enabling them to lead healthy, fulfilling and purposeful lives
· Experience of providing one-to-one support and advocacy to children and young people
· Experience of effectively planning and delivering fun and creative activities for vulnerable young people that overcome social isolation and help to improve individuals physical and emotional wellbeing (could be a separate job role)
· A confident practitioner, preferably with a relevant qualification. However, emphasis will be placed on your experience of delivering effective support to vulnerable young people that promotes positive mental health and emotional well-being
· To be proactive to motivate and deal confidently and effectively with challenging situations
· To evidence experience of developing effective partnerships and working in collaboration with a variety of agencies and stakeholders
· To work within the boundaries of confidentiality and work effectively and engage sensitively with a wide range of clients
· Experience of responding to referrals and escalating safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures
· Experience of, and/or understanding of, mental ill health (desirable)
· A good understanding of the negative impact that caring responsibilities may have on children and their development and be committed to York Carers Centre policies and procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and adults
· To be highly motivated with excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage own workload with minimum supervision
· To be an excellent team player, well organized with good attention to detail
· To be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including some evenings and during school holidays
· A working knowledge of the voluntary and statutory services in York (desirable)
· Full clean driving licence and access to a car for work with business insurance
The roles will involve flexible/hybrid working travelling to and working from a range of outreach venues in the York area.

The Role
As a referral co-ordinator support worker, you will support with receiving and managing our referrals for their safe accommodation. You will also lead on their achieving great futures programme, transforming how they support children, young people, and their families to improve outcomes, practice cultures and service delivery by looking across a wide range of areas in children's services by creating early links with social care upon arrival in their services. Some other duties include:
- Coordinating all aspects of referrals for the group regarding: enquiries, referral coordination and placements. Maintaining ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure service user safety.
- Ensuring complete and accurate information is provided on referrals and where necessary chase up information and evidence to support.
- Providing appropriate information to the wider team to ensure they have all relevant information to deliver quality support and manage risk.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills.
ABOUT YOU
They’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a support role supporting clients who have experienced domestic abuse and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals and families. You’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families they work with, with top notch communication skills. It is desirable if you have had experience of working within a Domestic Abuse Service.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills.
You will work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, however there may be expectation to work some evenings up to 8pm and occasional weekends and bank holidays.

Job Purpose
Our Bright Futures programme provides mentoring, employability, and wellbeing support for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller young people aged 14 – 25 years. We believe that increasing opportunities for young people is crucial for the future of their communities. We work directly with them through tailored mentoring and consistent support to build motivation, confidence, and resilience. The aim is to enable the next generation to overcome socio-economic barriers, engage in wider society, and be active changemakers for their community.
We are in an exciting growth phase and are looking for 2 Project Workers for the team to rapidly extend programme reach and impact. As part of the team, the Project Workers will together be involved in overall programme planning, delivery, and community outreach with a focus on skills development and employment prospects. In coordination with the Project Lead, you will develop collaborations with employers and training providers, and Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller community members to identify relevant training, learning and work placements for young people. You will work directly with young people and their families through community outreach initiatives to raise awareness as well as deliver individual and group sessions on a variety of themes and issues.
Role and responsibilities

Collaborate with Project Lead to develop skills, training and employment opportunities for young people.

Foster effective working relationships with employers, training providers, and community members to secure training and work placements.

Undertake engagement and outreach initiatives for young people and their families to generate interest and encourage enrolment.

Coordinate with mentors to provide practical employability support for young people through skills assessments, personal development plans, training/job search and signposting, etc.

Organise and deliver individual and small group sessions as well as thematic events such as industry awareness talks, campus visits, interview skills workshops, or exploring self-employment.

Maintain project administration including online database system, stakeholders and referrals network directory, and session reports.

Capture feedback and input into the monitoring and evaluation of the programme including funder reports and applications.

Dementia Direct is an advisory service for people living with Dementia and their Carers.
You will provide practical support and advice pre and post diagnosis. You will connect those you support with resources, activities, groups and their community. The support you provide will sustain, as far as is possible, peoples’ independence, lifestyle and relationships.
We are looking for a friendly, caring and compassionate team player with a practical and solution focused approach to supporting people. Experience of working with people living with Dementia, their families and Carers will give you a distinct advantage.
The support you provide could be face to face in the individual’s home, over the telephone, virtually or in writing.
You will work with partners from other services, such as the Memory Service, GPs, health and social care, to build good working relationships and strong referral pathways.
You will have the opportunity to raise the profile of people living with Dementia their family and Carers by conducting outreach in the community and working with local organisations and community groups.
Main Duties
You will be a key source of support, ensuring the needs of people living with Dementia, their family and Carers are recognised and a plan put in place to meet them.
You will provide support that empowers Carers and people living with Dementia to access appropriate services including support in their local and wider community. Those you support will be enabled to overcome barriers to accessing support and will feel valued and included. Carers and people living with Dementia will be involved in the development and delivery of plans relating to their support.
You will take referrals from the wider community and colleagues from health and social care. You will work with Carers and people living with Dementia to enable them to maintain their independence, improve their wellbeing and help them to feel more in control of their lives. The support you provide will assist those living with Dementia to adjust positively to their condition and enable them to live well.
You will be part of a supportive and inclusive team that work together to ensure people living with Dementia and their Carers are valued, included, confident, listened to, independent and supported.
Key roles and responsibilities:

Maintain and effectively manage a caseload providing structured, practical and solution focussed support with agreed outcomes, and signpost appropriately based on level of need.

Be a key contact for people living with Dementia, their family and Carers.

Take referrals for people living with Dementia, their family and Carers, carry out an assessment of need and develop individual support plans.

Enable people living with Dementia, their family and Carers, to plan ahead, particularly in relation to money and legal matters and their wishes for their future welfare.

Provide information in a timely manner in a format that suits individual needs.

Work with volunteers to provide a befriending service for those living with Dementia.

Deliver and develop Understanding Dementia training, for Carers to build an understanding of Dementia and coping strategies.

Act on behalf of people living with Dementia, their family and Carers where necessary by making telephone calls, writing letters and attending meetings in order for them to access the appropriate services and support.

Work with the Carers’ Support Service to provide wrap around support for Carers of people living with Dementia.
Working in and with the community:

Promote positive attitudes in public services and in the local community by providing information and training to raise awareness of the impact of living with Dementia and help communities to increase their capacity to support people living with Dementia.

Ensure that groups and individuals have access to information and support that is culturally appropriate. Proactively work to minimise the obstacles for those people living with Dementia, their family and Carers who find services difficult to access.

Host Memory Cafés, support groups and other activities throughout North Lincolnshire working with volunteer resource, and ensure venues are accessible.

Develop and maintain a good local knowledge of relevant services and groups and named key contacts.
Recording and monitoring:

Review the progress of support plans ensuring movement towards achieving planned outcomes.

Be responsible for ensuring all caseload and outreach data is recorded accurately and in line with policy and procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and work within Safeguarding standards.

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and bright graduate as a crucial member of our Programmes Team. The Programmes Officer’s role is to coordinate a range of projects relating to the identification and support to children/young people provided with the opportunity to attend boarding and day schools through the bursary programme. You will join a small, close-knit team of 14 staff all passionate about the role that independent and state boarding education can play in lifting the life chances of the most underserved and vulnerable children. The role has a broad remit to support all those in the Programmes Team and so offers exciting opportunities to gain a strong understanding of all aspects of the charity’s work.

Location: This role can be offered on a hybrid basis. RNCSF’s hybrid workers are located at our offices in Shepherds Bush, West London (a shared educational charity office hub) on 2 days per week. Significant UK travel may be required for pupil home and school visits.

About the role: You will be the first point of contact for victims/survivors of domestic abuse. You will use approved risk assessment tools to triage victims of domestic abuse to the correct BCWA service, for example our refuge or outreach services, or signposting them to external agencies where appropriate. We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approximately 4 miles apart on a rota basis.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.

As a Senior Nurse you will be a team leader to a small group of nurses and HCAs (Play and Care Workers), taking responsibility for line management. You will lead your team in acting as key workers to a small caseload of service users and act in a link role allocated to the team, for example Infection Control or Clinical Audits. You will be managing shifts, providing leadership to the team to ensure that all care is delivered in accordance with Richard House policies and procedures.
We’re looking for someone who is empathetic and resilient, can work under pressure, and can communicate sensitively with our families and colleagues. Our award-winning service supports young carers aged 4-19 to manage their caring relationships while also enjoying their childhoods. About this role
The MENA Death Penalty Caseworker will undertake a range of activities in support of Reprieve’s work on cases of individuals on death row or at risk of the death penalty across the MENA region, including casework and investigations into individual cases and the broader death penalty landscape, support to Reprieve clients, and support to partner organisations and lawyers in the MENA region and beyond.
The MENA Death Penalty Caseworker is an integral member of the MENA Team, and will work closely with the Media, Campaigns and Digital, and UK and US Policy teams, and the Directors and Deputy Directors.
Location and salary
This role is a full-time, permanent contract based in our London office. The annual salary is £40,964 full-time per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.
Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% per week from the London office, and the rest from home. Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office.
