About the role

EJF is scaling up its global work, and in particular expanding our portfolio of training and support to partner organisations on the front lines of environmental and human rights issues across the Global South. The Finance Officer is one of several new roles being recruited to support this growth.

Reporting to the Global Head of Finance, the Finance Officer will be responsible for end-to- end financial processing, donor reporting and partner finance support across a portfolio of geographies and grants. The role works closely with colleagues across the world and gives broad, hands-on exposure to international project finance, multi-currency operations, donor compliance, audit and sub-grant management.

The role is offered on a full-time basis, although we are open to part-time arrangements for the right candidate. Key responsibilities

Management accounts and reporting

• Contribute to the production of accurate and insightful monthly management accounts for use by senior leadership.
• Support project managers with project budgeting, forecasting, internal reporting and re-planning.
• Prepare donor and project reports in the format required by funders, within agreed reporting timetables, for review by budget holders, the Head of Finance and senior management.

Sub-grants and partner support

Month-end, year-end and audit

• Support month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals and review of financial data.
• Lead audit liaison on project audits within the portfolio.
• Assist with preparation for the annual organisational audit and with responses to audit queries.

Records and systems

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation using cloud-based storage.

Essential skills and experience

• Demonstrable commitment to EJF’s vision, mission and values and a determination to change the world for the better.
• Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), fully-qualified AAT, or a minimum of three years’ relevant finance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, including the ability to build and interrogate spreadsheets for budgeting, reporting and reconciliation (lookups, pivot tables, formulas).
• Day-to-day hands-on experience with Iplicit or a similar cloud-based accounting system.

• Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Finance Manager | £700 per day Umbrella Co. | Remote | 18-Months +

For a government organisation based in London, we are recruiting an Inventory Finance Manager to lead delivery of day-to-day inventory accounting during an organisation-wide ERP implementation programme. The interim inventory Finance Manager will focus on maintaining high-quality BAU inventory accounting delivery, while working closely with the ERP programme teams to share knowledge, provide input on system-wide inventory processes, and support readiness.

Main Duties:

• Lead delivery of the day-to-day inventory accounting
• Support the Financial Accounting Team with BAU Inventory accounting and process delivery
• Support the ERP implementation team activity across the Inventory accounting lifecycle
• Collaborate with the ERP programme teams to share expertise, input into design decisions, and suggest improvements to the inventory accounting lifecycle
• Support the local design phase of the Oracle Fusion Cloud system for day-to-day inventory accounting management processes
• Support system integration testing for all inventory accounting processes end-to-end and support real-life users of the system (UAT)
• Support the Oracle Fusion cutover phase, completing inventory data migration, and the final transition.

DMI is looking for a motivated Finance Manager to join our friendly team in London. Working closely with the Head of Finance and the finance team in the UK, and liaising with relevant staff in DMI’s international offices, the successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring that DMI’s finances are managed effectively and in line with internal policies and statutory requirements.

More specifically, the Finance Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

1. Supporting the Head of Finance in ensuring that DMI complies with relevant financial legislation and regulatory requirements in the UK and internationally. This includes supporting the year-end financial reporting and audit processes across the DMI group, together with payroll, VAT and other statutory reporting requirements where relevant.
2. Leading on improving and transforming finance processes and systems across DMI. This includes identifying opportunities to automate workflows, improve reporting, strengthen controls and increase efficiency using digital tools, AI and other technologies where appropriate.
3. Developing and maintaining financial models, reports and tools in Excel to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and organisational decision-making.
4. Preparing and consolidating project and HQ budgets, cash flow forecasts, management accounts and other financial reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
5. Working closely with colleagues in DMI’s international offices to review monthly financial performance, strengthen financial processes and support planning for future periods.
6. Supporting donor financial reporting and ensuring expenditure is incurred and reported in line with donor requirements and organisational policies.
