About the Role

The Mental Health Recovery Worker supports individuals within the community, to improve mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured interventions. At times this may mean deescalating crisis.

The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

About the Recovery Lounge Service

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues, experience of working in a small service within a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets and have the ability to Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have good communication, motivational and negotiation skills and understand the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities.

You’ll support Parkinson’s UK Advisers with issues relating to welfare benefits and employment and you’ll take a lead role in ensuring knowledge and resources in this area are up to date and relevant.

• Provide accurate information on all aspects relating to welfare benefits and employment issues.

• Work as part of a specialist team, take a lead role in keeping abreast of developments in the field.

• Provide direct support to people affected with Parkinson’s and their families on welfare benefits and employment issues in line with service guidelines.

• Provide information, support and training on welfare benefits and employment issues relating to those with Parkinson’s to Parkinson’s UK colleagues.

• Ensure that the responses made to enquiries and referrals are delivered within agreed protocols and procedures and provide a professional service at all times. Including maintaining accurate and timely records in line with service procedures.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience in an information and advisory setting benefits and employment related 

• Substantial proven experience in working with people on resolving benefits and employment related issues (at least 1 year of experience within the last three years) 

• Experience of supporting people within a tribunal setting 

• Excellent knowledge of welfare benefits, universal credit and current welfare reforms and experience of carrying out benefit calculations 

• Ability to cope with challenging or emotional enquiries and clients and to work in an empathetic way with a strong customer-orientated approach 

• Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace with experience of online case management systems and an understanding of the importance of data quality

This international non-profit organisation with headquarters in London, represents national, regional and international associations, as well as leading solar sector corporations. Joining a small, proactive and collaborative team, the People and Culture Officer will work closely with the Operations Lead and CEO as the organisation’s HR expert. Initially, the role will focus on recruitment and onboarding to support the organisation’s strategic growth. Over time, there will be scope to develop the People and Culture function more broadly. The successful candidate will have experience in recruitment, HR administration or people operations, alongside a strong understanding of UK HR and employment practices and a relevant qualification. Experience working within a non-profit, membership or international organisation would also be desirable.

Main purpose of the job

• To support the organisation’s day-to-day finance, HR and impact data administration. This includes maintaining and strengthening financial controls, contributing to monthly and year-end financial processes, and supporting with finance/HR reports as required.

Role Purpose

As Reception and Office Administrator, you will play a key role in the team; providing a warm, efficient and professional reception service, and being the first point of contact for enquiries.

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work on people experiencing homelessness across London. As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients. Every relationship you build and every gift you secure will help create real opportunities for our clients to move away from homelessness and towards safety, stability and independence.

You will take the lead in developing and managing meaningful relationships with major donors, creating thoughtful and engaging journeys that bring them closer to our work and the difference it makes day to day. Alongside nurturing existing supporters, you will identify and secure new funding opportunities, building a strong and sustainable pipeline of donors and driving forward this new area of income generation within the team. Working collaboratively across SHP, you will connect philanthropists with our services in a way that feels personal, impactful and rooted in the realities of our work, while contributing to the wider fundraising targets that enable us to keep delivering life changing support.

Hybrid working for us means a mix of in office working in Kings Cross and home working. Currently two days in the office (usually Wednesday and Friday) with the rest from home. 

About you:

• You have experience building relationships with donors, supporters or partners, and know how to turn those relationships into meaningful income or long term support.
• You’re a confident communicator, able to bring a cause to life through conversations and written content that genuinely connects people to impact.
• You’re proactive and driven, comfortable spotting opportunities, growing a pipeline and following through to secure results.
• You’re organised and detail focused, able to manage multiple relationships and keep accurate records using CRM or similar systems.
• You’re motivated by purpose and excited by the chance to help shape and grow a new area of fundraising that directly supports people experiencing homelessness in London.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer to join the EDI function on a part-time basis, with a particular focus on supporting the Witness Service.

This role is home-based but will require occasional travel within England and Wales.

The Role

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer will support the National Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead to achieve delivery of meaningful and evidence-based equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives across the charity, with a particular focus on the Witness Service. This will include work to help develop the Witness Service, and the charity more widely, to be proactively antiracist.

The EDI Officer will provide advice and guidance in relation to a wide range of EDI queries, including areas such as equality impact assessments, reasonable adjustments and interpretation services. You will help to boost Witness Service employee and volunteer engagement in EDI initiatives and promote best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of EDI queries.
• Review and support with the completion of Equality Impact Assessments.
• Support staff and volunteer network leads to grow their networks and engage the Witness Service.
• Develop evidence-based resources around a range of EDI topics.
• Promote antiracism at all opportunities.
• Support the delivery of EDI project work.
• Undertake data analysis and reporting.
• Provide administrative support for projects and meetings, keeping accurate records.

About You

You will be passionate about helping to shape inclusive environments that allow our employees, volunteers and service users to feel safe and supported. You will use your EDI knowledge to work with internal and external stakeholders, championing lived experience and intersectionality.

You will need:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience of supporting the delivery of a range of EDI initiatives.
• Strong understanding of equality legislation and best practice, as well as current challenges affecting EDI.
• Experience of analysing data and produce data reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Passion for advancing equality, diversity and inclusion with an intersectional focus.
• Organised and methodical approach with the ability to plan and prioritise a highly varied workload effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong IT and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages.

About the Witness Service

The Witness Service provides free, independent support to any witness giving evidence in criminal courts in England and Wales, both for the prosecution and the defence. The trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence. The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.

About the role

The Doncaster Therapeutic Service is based within therapeutic services in the Resettlement Team in South Yorkshire. The Resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies, the Refugee Council Resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.

The Psychological Therapist role is designed to provide one-to-one psychological therapy to resettled refugees presenting with mental distress. We have adopted a psychosocial perspective and use a specially tailored care model to address the needs of our clients. The team have supported resettled adult refugees in South Yorkshire by providing short-term one-to-one therapeutic support since September 2017.

Contract and hours: Fixed term, part-time, 7 hours per week.
