RiverCare and BeachCare Manager (maternity cover)

Salary: £31,971p.a. pro-rata (£39,964p.a. FTE)

Location: Home based in the East of England, with travel in the Anglian Water region and occasional travel across England.

We are looking for a passionate and outstanding programme manager to join our RiverCare & BeachCare programme for a period of maternity leave. Delivered by Keep Britain Tidy, in partnership with programme funder Anglian Water for nearly 25 years, the programme aims to inspire community ownership of local blue spaces through training and support to become empowered, self-organising volunteer groups. This is an exciting role in a fast-paced charity and a welcoming, ambitious team.

The successful applicant will have experience of overseeing and monitoring large-scale volunteer programmes, working with a wide variety of partner organisations, and hold a good knowledge of environmental sustainability, and ecological challenges in the water and marine environment.

You will be an effective communicator and networker, highly organised and able to manage a small team, a self-starter able to work to deadlines without close supervision. You will be working as part of a regional and national team. Some travel within the region and across England will be required, as will occasional weekend and evening work.

Role Purpose:

Responsible Finance is the membership association for the UK’s Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs). CDFIs are community lenders, committed to delivering positive social impact, and offer fair and affordable finance to businesses, social enterprises and to people unable to access it elsewhere.

This is a pivotal moment to be joining the CDFI sector. Responsible Finance and CDFIs are poised for exciting growth following two record-breaking funding announcements in late 2024 which has seen the sector backed by Government and leading financial institutions including the British Business Bank and JPMorgan Chase. This follows Lloyds Banking Group becoming the first mainstream lender to invest in the CDFI sector earlier in the year.

The Government has also announced it is backing Responsible Finance to develop a roadmap for growth, and a new APPG for CDFIs has been set up with the official launch set for May 2026.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to ensure that CDFIs from all sectors receive the policy and regulatory support they need to thrive.

You will manage key aspects of Responsible Finance’s policy work including consultation responses, briefings, MP outreach and building a supportive network of MPs, and writing articles to highlight key issues with the Government and our stakeholders. You will also lead on the production of RF’s annual impact report.

No prior knowledge about CDFIs is required so long as you have a keen interest to learn about the sector and are passionate about increasing access to fair finance for businesses, underserved communities and people.  Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a candidate experienced in Policy to take forward our work with the Government and other stakeholders on supporting the growth and resilience of the UK’s Community Development Finance Institutions.

• Policy: Supporting Responsible Finance’s work with the Government including on key initiatives such as the CDFI roadmap, the new APPG for CDFIs, and managing relationships with key departments such as Department for Business and Trade, HM Treasury, and the Financial Conduct Authority, as well as relationships at a policy level with partner organisations.
• Representation: Attending events and roundtables representing Responsible Finance.
• Consultation responses: Identifying and responding to Government and other stakeholder consultations to advocate for the CDFI sector, working closely with members to inform your responses.
• MP Engagement: lead Responsible Finance’s programme of MP outreach to continue to build a base of supportive MPs and peers within parliament.
• Partnership working: Contributing to relevant campaigns and policy forums to strengthen Responsible Finance’s influence on policies that impact the sector.
• Communications: Write clear and engaging policy briefs, reports, and articles to communicate Responsible Finance’s priorities to the Government and other stakeholders. This includes writing a monthly stakeholder newsletter article.
• Impact report: Lead on Responsible Finance’s annual member Impact Report, published annually in May.
• APPG: Spearhead Responsible Finance’s role as secretariat for the new APPG for CDFIs.
• Horizon scanning: Monitor the latest research, track political debates and identify new policy developments in the areas of community finance, inclusive growth and financial inclusion.

This is a varied and dynamic role, and candidates will need to work closely with the wider team to align our policy work with our programme work. Skills and Experience:

This role requires the following skills and experience:

• Strong demonstratable experience of delivering results in a policy role.
• Highly self-motivated and able to drive your own work forward, but equally a team player with a collaborative working style.
• Excellent communication skills including: 1) concise and plain English writing skills and ability to synthesise information into an easy to comprehend format/narrative; 2) public speaking in order to represent Responsible Finance at events.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable working with stakeholders at a range of levels, and building buy-in.
• Experience analysing and synthesising data and presenting findings clearly and succinctly. Fluency with applications such as Word and Excel is essential.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and get the information needed from busy people.
• Willingness to travel and represent Responsible Finance at events.

Working as part of a small organisation, you will need to demonstrate flexibility and willingness to pitch in to help other members of the team.

An understanding of CDFIs would be helpful but is not essential.

SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn Ward of Camden, London, dedicated to supporting residents and young people living in an area of high deprivation.

If successful you will be based at “The ARC Youth Club”, an estate based youth led centre with integrated music studio, kitchen, games and "chill-out" space. The ARC engages approximately 250 young people per year and plays a vital role in their welfare and development outside of school. In holidays we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people who may otherwise miss out.

You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

The Notts Recovery Collective is a new, unique 5-yr Lottery-funded project:  it will develop a Member-led community of people in recovery, to shape a bold, inclusive, and sustainable future for recovery support in Nottinghamshire.

Over the next five years, the Collective will engage people in recovery, train and support volunteers, and foster skills-based and employment opportunities for people with lived experience.  We are looking for candidates who can guide The Notts Recovery Collective to be a proactive, inspiring model of what happens, when people in recovery are trusted to lead.

We are seeking an experienced individual to work in co-production with – and being led by - a Members Committee/ Steering Group:

• To lead on the development, vision and strategic direction of the Notts Recovery Collective, co-producing this development in collaboration with a Members’ Committee/Steering Group.
• To take an outward-facing, visible role to establish and promote the Collective within Nottinghamshire partner and community networks, ensuring the Collective has a distinct identity and benefits from supportive partnerships.
• To lead on the growth of peer support groups across the County, including scoping out and brokering suitable community venues.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Central Bedfordshire mental health recovery and prevention service which covers Ampthill/Flitwick, Biggleswade, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard.

As a Community Wellbeing Navigator you will be at the heart of the recovery service, delivering all aspects of the service, building positive relationships with those using the service and strong links into the wider community services within Central Bedfordshire.

You will offer focussed 1-2-1 support where needed, to assist people to navigate through the range of other services within the community. You will offer guidance and information that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps or continue to be isolated and disconnected from their communities, ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.

You will also deliver group wellbeing sessions and facilitate drop-in sessions that provide a safe environment for service users to talk openly and develop practical tools, techniques and coping strategies in order to manage their own wellbeing.

In addition, you will assess individuals’ suitability for the service and signpost where necessary. There will also be opportunity to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and build links with local organisations.

You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them.

Service Delivery

• Work within the mental health recovery service across localities in Central Bedfordshire, ensuring outcomes that support individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs in line with both Mind BLMK’s agreed recovery model and requirements and funders contract requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Carry out assessments on individuals’ suitability for the service in line with the Access to Service processes and procedures and the needs, priorities and support required by the individual.
• Undertake 1-2-1 support with individuals which enables them to explore the situation affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan based on their needs, goals and wishes.
• Offer personalised support and information with the aim of building skills, confidence, resilience and knowledge of tools, techniques and wider resources including linking people to the range of community support services and activities available and seeking solutions to any barriers to access.
• Deliver and facilitate groups, both face to face and online. This includes topic and session planning, facilitating informal drop in and discussions and supporting service users to gain practical tools and techniques to support their wellbeing and learn new coping strategies.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through Guarantor Membership and other opportunities available through Influence and Participation.
• Identify and assist with the development of service uses to deliver peer lead groups using their specialisms and interests.
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).

Job Description

The Listening Place (TLP) is an award-winning charity providing face-to-face, compassionate and non-judgemental support for people who feel that life is no longer worth living.  Since opening our first site in Pimlico in 2016, we have grown to four sites and our service is delivered by over 850 active volunteers. 
 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, dedicated team and play a vital role in helping TLP to grow and support more people struggling with suicidal feelings. You will manage two key growth areas in fundraising: community and corporate. By crafting exciting partnership proposals and delivering high-quality events, you will help TLP build on its fundraising success in these areas.  You will use your relationship management skills to keep donors not just satisfied but motivated to support TLP.

Scope and purpose

The Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager will be the second most senior position in the fundraising team and will lead on the development of TLP’s community and corporate fundraising streams. Having seen significant growth over the past five years, from circa £50k per annum, to more than £400k, the post holder will oversee the continued development of these fundraising streams. The post holder will achieve a strong return on investment by proactively identifying new leads, effectively stewarding supporter relationships and providing an engaging and exciting ways for individuals to support The Listening Place. As a senior member of the fundraising team, the post holder will also build a successful, committed team, driving performance and contributing to the strategic direction of TLP’s fundraising function. 
 

Duties and responsibilities

1. Deliver the continued growth of corporate and community fundraising at TLP (combined £475k target in 2026/27) in line with investment in this area to help ease the pressure on major donor and trust fundraising.
2. Generate new corporate and community fundraising leads by mapping TLP’s volunteer and supporter networks as well as exploring cold leads which align with TLP’s mission and vision.
3. Develop engaging, inspiring materials to help secure new corporate leads including presentations, brochures and video.
4. Represent TLP externally at corporate and community events, networking opportunities, and sector forums to raise awareness and build strategic partnerships. 
5. Deliver and oversee excellent stewardship with all corporate and community supporters, establishing effective, long-lasting relationships with supporters and stakeholders including a creative approach to thanking supporters.
6. Develop materials and build a personal brand which inspires volunteers to participate in TLP events or to run their own fundraisers.   
7. Manage an exciting and engaging roster of annual events for volunteers and corporate fundraisers to participate in, including creating new events based on supporter data, as well as looking for ways to improve existing events and phasing out events where necessary.
8. Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance, using data and supporter feedback to refine strategies, improve engagement, and encourage growth. 
9. Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to forecast income in community and corporate fundraising as well as setting budgets that enable us to deliver on ambitious targets whilst still delivering a competitive return on investment. 
10. Establish effective relationships across the staff and volunteer network which creates a culture that supports fundraising within TLP whilst also enabling volunteers to focus on TLP’s core mission and vision.
11. Build a dependable, detail-oriented team to support the administrative management of corporate, community and individual giving at The Listening Place whilst encouraging their development as TLP fundraisers in their own right.

Person specification

Essential requirements 

• Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills able to translate TLP’s model into compelling materials and pitches. 
• Strong interpersonal skills - a relationship builder with a flexible, entrepreneurial approach, the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with donors, volunteers and internal stakeholders.
• Highly organised - excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise own workload and multi task to meet targets and deliver events.
• Good understanding of event management including problem solving skills and an ability to adapt quickly when encountering obstacles.
• A strategic mindset, with the ability to identify trends, plan ahead and build clear plans based on data.
• Computer literate - familiar with common Office programmes and fundraising databases.
• Clear understanding of and ability to apply the legislation affecting corporate and community fundraising. 

Desirable 

• Successful track record of delivering community fundraising programmes and activities.
• Fundraising / marketing qualification.
• Experience of managing volunteers. 
• Knowledge and appreciation of mental health issues/suicide prevention in the UK.

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve & Discovery Centre is a welcoming and inclusive workplace. Primarily an office-based role within the incredible Discovery Centre building at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Ensuring data retained by Sussex Wildlife Trust is relevant and up to date. The Volunteer Coordinator supports the Discovery Centre team and helps with daily operations of the visitor centre whenever possible.

About Us

Advocacy Support Cymru (ASC) is a registered charity with offices in Cardiff and Swansea. We provide Independent Mental Health and Mental Capacity Advocacy Services across most of South Wales, employing 55 employees.

About you

You will have significant experience working with vulnerable adults and/or children, either within health or social care setting, or indirectly, for example as a carer. You will understand and have experience of working effectively in an intra-agency context with Health and Social Care Professionals.

Previous direct experience in the role would be preferred but training will be provided.

We have created an exciting new position in our team for an ambitious and confident relationship fundraiser. Working as part of the Partnership Team and line managing one Partnerships Officer, the Partnerships Manager position will secure critical income from new and existing corporate partners through compelling pitches and excellent stewardship.

The position will build on existing partner relationships with high-profile businesses like Superdrug, the Perfume Shop and Johnson & Johnson, aiming to grow their contributions, as well as making approaches to new prospects in relevant sectors, working closely with the Director of Partnerships.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Corporate Partnerships Development

• Ensure achievement of annual income target for corporate partnerships
• Take primary responsibility for managing the current pool of medium and large corporate partnerships, including global partners (working with Operation Smile Inc), to ensure their growth and longevity – strategic input into the growth of each partner will be essential
• Develop and implement plans for partner activity to maximise all income channels, including corporate philanthropy, employee engagement, cause-related marketing and more
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of new corporate fundraising prospects, creating propositions/proposals and making approaches, working with the Director of Partnerships
• Enhance our employee engagement and community fundraising offer with simple, easy-to-do fundraising activities, linked to key moments in the calendar
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to partners and internal stakeholders
• Represent Operation Smile UK in global corporate partner discussions, applying any global strategies to develop successful fundraising plans for the UK
• Lead on the development and management of any corporate partner cultivation events

Additional Responsibilities

• Line manage one Partnerships Officer, supporting them to manage inbound community fundraising requests and existing relationships, as well as smaller corporate partners
• Oversight of community fundraising income target delivered by the Officer
• Create and maintain annual corporate partnerships and community fundraising budgets and business plans, including activities from current supporters and forecasting new business income

• 2 years’ experience in a corporate partnerships or business development role
