The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) is a Liverpool Diocesan employee who is responsible for leading and promoting safeguarding across Liverpool Cathedral, ensuring that safeguarding is embedded throughout its ministry, governance and operations. Working closely with the Dean, clergy, staff and volunteers, the postholder will provide both safeguarding leadership and practical support to foster a culture in which safeguarding is understood by all as a shared responsibility, and the welfare of children, young people and adults remains central to Cathedral life. The postholder will maintain robust safeguarding records and oversight of safeguarding data, using information and trends to inform team decision-making, monitor risk, identify emerging safeguarding issues and support the ongoing development of policy, practice and organisational learning. They will maintain strong partnerships with statutory agencies, partner organisations and the Diocesan Safeguarding Team (DST).
The CSO will provide professional safeguarding advice and guidance, support the development of safer working practices, deliver safeguarding learning and development opportunities, and assist with the identification, assessment, and management of safeguarding risks. The postholder will also act as a key point of contact for safeguarding concerns and allegations, ensuring that these are managed appropriately and in accordance with statutory requirements, Church of England guidance, and National Safeguarding Standards.
Although based at Liverpool Cathedral, the CSO is an integral member of the Diocesan Safeguarding Team and will receive professional supervision, support and line management from the Deputy Head of Safeguarding (DDSO) and the Head of Safeguarding (DSO). The postholder will contribute to the delivery of the Diocese's safeguarding strategy and the implementation of its safeguarding plans, while holding lead responsibility for safeguarding practice within the Cathedral.

Context of role:
The Outreach Officer plays a key role in raising awareness of services, strengthening community
partnerships and supporting the delivery of high-quality bereavement support activities across the

Role overview
Shine supports a community of over 15,000 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, including 10,000 adults (25+).
You will be delivering high-quality support and creating opportunities for adults living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their carers, supporting Shine members to lead healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives by improving condition management and fostering connections within the Shine community.
This role will focus on adults (25+), you will be primarily working within the Adult Services Team. However, there will be occasions when you will work across age groups to ensure the best outcomes for our members.
The role is home-based and ideally you will live within an hour commute of London, within Essex, Kent or Sussex as you will be attending clinics in London and the Southeast as required. There would be occasional travel required across wider areas and nationally including attendance at events, conferences and meetings at our head office in Peterborough.
The role is full time 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday with working core hours 9am-5pm with some flexibility to cover events evenings/weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver innovative support across your region to improve health, social, and emotional outcomes for members.
Attend specialist clinics to engage with members and professionals.
Provide information, advice, and guidance to our adult members and carers, including hard-to-reach communities.

In this brand-new role, you will take the lead on supporting our young carers, volunteer mentors, and partner schools—making a real, lasting difference in the community and to the young carers we support.
Our vision is for all young carers to flourish. Through long-term mentoring, group programmes, and our annual Aspirations Conference, we help young people succeed in education, build confidence, and unlock future opportunities. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic self-starter who is genuinely passionate about helping others thrive.
You’ll be right at the heart of our service delivery—whether you’re working directly with inspiring young people, empowering our volunteer mentors, or collaborating with the wider team on fundraising and events. Alongside being part of a supportive team, this role has a degree of autonomy, meaning you'll need the excellent organisational skills to manage your own day, the interpersonal spark to build strong relationships, and the flexibility for evening work.

Service delivery lead in Wiltshire of all YCDT programmes
Volunteer recruitment, training, management and supervision
Supporting young carers to achieve their educational potential
Monitoring and evaluation
Inspiring and empowering Young Carers to fulfil their potential
