Job Purpose
Working closely with the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will:

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
As Head of Services Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Independent Age’s services and maximising our impact for older people facing financial hardship. Reporting to the Director of Services, you will lead service development, innovation, quality, evaluation and strategic change across our service provision (information, advice and external training) ensuring they remain effective, evidence-led and responsive to changing needs. We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with experience of leading complex projects, organisational change and service improvement programmes.
You will be skilled at turning strategy into delivery, bringing together people from different teams and disciplines to develop practical solutions that improve outcomes. You will be comfortable using data, insight and evidence to drive decision-making and have a track record of stakeholder engagement and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.
You will also bring experience of impact measurement, evaluation, quality assurance or performance frameworks, with the ability to use evidence to demonstrate value and improve services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and work across organisational boundaries. An understanding of the needs of older people, the wider ageing sector and the role that data, learning and collaboration play in delivering social impact would be advantageous.

Job Summary
The Service Manager - Z House will provide operational leadership for Z House, Caring in Bristol’s emergency accommodation service for young people aged 18–25 experiencing housing crisis.
The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Z House is a safe, welcoming, well-managed and psychologically informed service, where young people are treated with dignity and supported to move towards greater stability and appropriate longer-term accommodation.

Role Summary
The Outreach Manager is responsible for driving the expansion of the Schools Consent Project’s reach, engagement, and impact across London and the South East. Samaritans is the UK and Ireland’s leading suicide prevention charity. While we are best known for listening to those who need us, we also work to influence change through our policy, advocacy campaigning and relationships with political stakeholders.
The Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team of five works alongside people with lived experience, our campaigners, supporters and volunteers to push for the public policy and legal changes that will help us achieve our vision. We work to achieve system change through our work with the Westminster parliament, UK Government departments, policy makers and service leads, alongside our offices in the nations. What you'll be doing:
You'll lead our public affairs and advocacy campaigns work focused on influencing decision-makers and driving advocacy campaigns.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing our advocacy campaigning activity across England and line managing the Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer, ensuring that our advocacy campaigns are rooted in lived experience, and that our supporters have a positive ongoing experience.

About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.
Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role
The Development Director (New Business) provides strategic leadership for Impetus’ new business development, prospect pipeline and high-value funding opportunities. The postholder will have responsibility for identifying, cultivating and converting new corporate, trust and foundation, and high-net-worth donor relationships, as well as continued relationship management for key, established relationships.
In 25/26, the Philanthropy and Partnerships team generated £11m in philanthropic income, alongside £2.8m in probono contributions. The Development Director will play a key role in delivering Impetus' growth ambitions, helping to increase philanthropic income to £14m by 2029.
Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the role will translate the fundraising strategy into clear new business priorities, pipeline plans and prospect engagement approaches, ensuring a strong flow of qualified opportunities and sustainable growth in high-value income.
Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy and Partnerships, the postholder will personally lead and support significant six and seven-figure prospects and strategic funding opportunities, while overseeing the stewardship and retention of current partners.
Working collaboratively across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and with colleagues across the organisation, the Development Director will ensure a joined-up approach to donor acquisition, pipeline development, prospect conversion and stewardship, maximising income, partnership value and long-term impact within the agreed fundraising strategy.

- Personally lead on six and seven-figure level priority prospects and strategic funding opportunities, managing the full fundraising cycle from qualification to close.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow our fundraising function. You will develop income from businesses, community organisations and individuals, building relationships that help turn local generosity into meaningful, long-term support.
You will have the freedom to identify opportunities, develop new ideas and build fundraising activity from a relatively blank slate. While we already have an established base of supporters and fundraising materials, there is significant scope to develop new relationships, improve supporter engagement and create sustainable sources of unrestricted income.
Working closely with the Charity Manager, staff and Trustees, you will play a key role in building a fundraising function capable of making a significant contribution towards the foodbank's future.
Fundraising Manager
Location: Braintree, Essex (hybrid working considered)
Contract: 2-year fixed term, part-time, 25 hours per week, with scope to increase in future
Salary: £18,000–£20,000 per year (£27,000–£30,000 FTE)
Annual Leave: 33 days including bank holidays (F.T.E)
What you'll be doing
- Developing and delivering fundraising activity across corporate, community and individual giving.
- Building relationships with local businesses and developing opportunities for partnerships, sponsorship, employee fundraising and other forms of support.
- Developing relationships with churches, schools, community groups and other local organisations.
- Growing individual giving, including encouraging one-off supporters to become regular donors.
- Identifying and approaching new supporters and proactively developing fundraising opportunities.
- Developing campaigns, appeals, newsletters and other communications that inspire people to support our work.
- Creating a structured approach to supporter stewardship, ensuring donors understand the difference their support makes.
- Building and maintaining a clear pipeline of fundraising opportunities and relationships.
- Maintaining accurate supporter records and ensuring appropriate GDPR and data protection practices.
- Monitoring fundraising activity and income, evaluating what works and reporting progress to the Charity Manager and Trustees.
- Developing and implementing an annual fundraising plan.
- Representing the foodbank at meetings, networking events and within the local community.

- You have experience in fundraising, business development, sales, income generation or another role involving securing financial support.
- You are confident building relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- You are comfortable approaching people, making the case for support and asking for financial contributions.
- You are an excellent communicator, both in person and in writing.
- You are proactive, self-motivated and enjoy working independently.
- You can turn ideas into practical action and are comfortable building something new.
- You are organised and able to manage multiple relationships, opportunities and priorities.
- You are confident using databases, spreadsheets, email and standard office software.
- You share our commitment to treating people experiencing hardship with dignity and respect.
Experience of charity fundraising, corporate partnerships, individual giving, community fundraising or supporter databases would be an advantage, but we welcome applications from people with transferable experience from other sectors.

Strategic Community Development Lead
Based in Oldham

Oasis is looking for a Strategic Community Development Lead who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to lead Oasis Hub Oldham through the next phase of its growth.
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Community Development Lead who will bring fresh vision, take the community on the next stage of its journey together as a movement and bring innovation as well as stability to the charity.
About us
Oasis Hub Oldham is a local charity that is embedded in two communities in Oldham – Hollinwood and Leesbrook, where there are also four Oasis Academies. Our vision is for communities where everyone is included and no one is left out.
Key responsibilities
This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the local charity, ensuring the youth and community work is aligned to the the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Academy Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.
Some of the specific duties of this role include:
· Establishment and coordination of a range of provision such as family support, youth work, holiday clubs, volunteering and community empowerment projects.
· Maintaining and building supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups.
· Leading policy and process oversight.
· Planning, resourcing and coordinating the community plan, measuring impact.
· Strengthening the local Oasis Movement.
About you
This is very much a relational and project management role. As such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
· A strategic mindset, and experience of leading community delivery and growing projects.
· Innovative use of resources and budget management to maximise funding, with a track record of securing income.
· A thorough knowledge and understanding community work.
· An education to degree level or equivalent and /or relevant professional qualification.
