Opportunity

Oasis is looking for a Strategic Community Development Lead who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to lead Oasis Hub Oldham through the next phase of its growth.

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Community Development Lead who will bring fresh vision, take the community on the next stage of its journey together as a movement and bring innovation as well as stability to the charity.

About us

Oasis Hub Oldham is a local charity that is embedded in two communities in Oldham – Hollinwood and Leesbrook, where there are also four Oasis Academies.  Our vision is for communities where everyone is included and no one is left out.

Key responsibilities

This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the local charity, ensuring the youth and community work is aligned to the the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Academy Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.

Some of the specific duties of this role include:

· Establishment and coordination of a range of provision such as family support, youth work, holiday clubs, volunteering and community empowerment projects.

· Maintaining and building supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups.

· Leading policy and process oversight.

· Planning, resourcing and coordinating the community plan, measuring impact.

· Strengthening the local Oasis Movement.

About you

This is very much a relational and project management role. As such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

· A strategic mindset, and experience of leading community delivery and growing projects.

· Innovative use of resources and budget management to maximise funding, with a track record of securing income.

· A thorough knowledge and understanding community work.

· An education to degree level or equivalent and /or relevant professional qualification.

What the job involves
We're looking for a Fulfilment Manager to join us on a fixed-term contract until the end of February 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in how we support our fundraisers, supporters and people affected by prostate cancer, ensuring the smooth delivery of fulfilment services across the charity. You'll manage our relationship with an external fulfilment partner, making sure services are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively and in line with agreed standards.

You'll join us at a pivotal time as we begin working with a new supplier. Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, supporter care, health information, digital and customer operations, you'll lead on supplier performance, service improvements and process optimisation. Using data and insight, you'll identify opportunities to enhance the supporter experience, protect income and help ensure our fulfilment service continues to meet the changing needs of the charity.

Alongside leading our fulfilment service, you'll manage and develop our ecommerce function. From stock forecasting and product development to supplier management and shop performance, you'll ensure our online shop delivers a great customer experience, supports fundraising objectives and continues to grow its reach and impact.

You'll also provide line management support to the E-Commerce Executive, providing guidance, feedback and development opportunities to help them thrive.

You’ll be process-driven, always looking for simpler, smarter ways of working, and comfortable managing complex operational activity while keeping everything running smoothly. Strong attention to detail is essential, particularly when working at pace or with large volumes of data and multiple suppliers.

You’ll bring experience of forecasting, stock management and using insight to guide decisions, along with the ability to support, coach or motivate others, whether formally or informally. Ideally, you’ll also have line management experience.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team, to support the Head of Procurement to take the department to the next level.

You will use your commercial focus and expertise to drive best practices in our projects, managing various aspects of spending from RfQs for tail-end to tendering on our eProcurement portal for large project procurements.  You will find yourself constantly challenged to come up with innovative ways of thinking and working closely with stakeholders to lead on procurement understanding, driving value for money, strategic projects and managing the supply chain.

You will get involved in a huge variety of projects, from ICT equipment to Marketing and Events, and everything in-between – this means you’ll need to be dynamic and flexible and able to manage your own time well. Sustainability, Social Value and EDI are important to the Trust as a Charity, and so you will strive to embed this in our supply chain with the key suppliers that we work with.

This is an exciting role that the ideal applicant can really make their own and would suit someone who is a self-starter with energy and drive, and a good background in procurement.

The Role

This is a new post and a significant one. As Business Development Manager, you will be the first dedicated commercial function in NEYDL, the only person in the organisation with responsibility for sales and income generation from commissioned services and traded products. You will report directly to the CEO and sit on the senior management team.

Your core mission is to grow NEYDL's earned income across two distinct strands: securing commissioned services and contracts with local authorities and other organisations in the North East; and developing a national market for NEYDL's training products and DigiDAD platform, enabling professionals and organisations across the UK to improve the support available to young dads in their communities.

There is no pipeline to inherit. You will need to identify the right routes to market, build relationships from scratch with commissioners and buyers, and develop the BD function as you go. The CEO will provide strategic direction and support, but you will need to be confident operating with autonomy, exercising commercial judgement independently, and getting on with it.

What you will do

Identify and pursue opportunities for commissioned services and contracts in the North East with local authorities, NHS commissioners, family hubs, children’s services and other public and voluntary sector organisations
Develop a national market for NEYDL's training products and, in time, licensing offer, working across both statutory and voluntary sector audiences. This will include selling training directly to local authorities, NHS bodies and VCSE organisations; testing demand from VCSE organisations for a licensing model that enables them to deliver NEYDL's approach locally; and exploring whether local authorities would fund or commission a local VCSE partner to do so. A key part of this role in year one/two is testing assumptions about which funding and delivery models have most traction.
Promote DigiDAD as a free resource to professional audiences, growing registrations and building relationships with organisations that can champion it with young dads
Develop and manage a BD pipeline, setting targets and reporting progress to the CEO and board
Represent NEYDL at sector events, networks and conferences nationally to build profile and relationships
Develop proposals, tenders and partnership bids, working closely with the CEO and programme team
Work closely with the DigiDAD Engagement Officer to share leads and coordinate activity via an agreed tracker, and with the DigiDAD Programme Manager to ensure BD and digital growth strategies remain aligned
Contribute to marketing and communications activity that supports commercial growth, including supporting the launch of our new national brand
Play an active role as a member of the senior management team, contributing to strategy, planning and organisational leadership.

We need someone with commercial experience in winning commissioned services, contracts or selling products and services to public and voluntary sector organisations. You will be relationship-focused, self-directed, and comfortable building a function without established infrastructure or a team behind you.

You will need to understand the professional landscape in which NEYDL operates: family support, early help, children’s services, family hubs. You don’t need to be an expert in young dads, but you will need to speak credibly to the people who commission and deliver family support, and to understand what drives their decisions.

Job purposeTo grow NEYDL's earned income across two distinct strands: securing commissioned services and contracts with local authorities and other organisations in the North East; and developing a national market for NEYDL's training products and DigiDAD platform, enabling professionals and organisations across the UK to improve the support available to young dads in their communities.Key responsibilities

Income generation and business development

Identify and develop opportunities to secure commissioned services and contracts with local authorities, NHS bodies, family hubs, children’s services, early help teams and voluntary sector organisations
Lead on the sale of NEYDL’s training products to professional audiences nationally, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
Where relevant to other business development activity, make professionals aware of DigiDAD as a free resource and refer interested contacts to the DigiDAD Engagement Officer for onboarding and follow-up
Develop and maintain a BD pipeline, setting annual targets in conjunction with the CEO and reporting progress to the board
Identify new markets, audiences and partnership opportunities and make evidence-based recommendations to the CEO on where to focus BD effort.
Proposals, tenders and bids

Lead on the development of proposals, tenders and commissioned service bids, working closely with the CEO and programme team to develop compelling cases
Maintain awareness of relevant commissioning frameworks, procurement processes and funding opportunities that align with NEYDL’s offer
Ensure all proposals and tenders accurately reflect NEYDL’s costs and margins and are consistent with the organisation’s financial requirements
Relationships and profile

Build and manage relationships with commissioners, buyers, strategic partners and sector networks nationally
Represent NEYDL at sector events, conferences and networks, raising our profile with the professional audiences we want to reach
Work collaboratively with the DigiDAD Programme Manager to align BD activity with the growth of the DigiDAD platform
Support the launch and positioning of NEYDL’s new national brand, contributing to marketing and communications activity that supports commercial growth
Organisational leadership and management

Contribute to organisational strategy and annual planning as a member of the senior management team
Report on BD performance and progress against targets to the CEO and board
Work closely with the DigiDAD Engagement Officer (managed by the DigiDAD Programme Manager) to ensure a joined-up approach to professional audience engagement

Targets

Year 1 milestones

The following milestones have been agreed with our primary Year 1 funder and represent the BDM's near-term priorities:

By six months:

Approaches made to at least 25 contacts, including commissioners in all Family Hub areas in the North East and warm VCSE collaborators
By twelve months:

Marketing and outreach completed with at least 100 contacts (warm and cold)
Training delivered at least 10 times
Indicative conversion targets achieved: approximately 3% of cold contacts and 25% of warm contacts progressing to a training booking (these are assumptions to be tested and refined through year one)
Evaluation and review of year one learning completed; year two targets developed
Longer-term targets (to April 2029)

The following targets relate to the areas of work this role will contribute to, alongside the DigiDAD Programme Manager and wider team:

Professionals trained through NEYDL's training products: 50 by April 2027; 350 annually by April 2029
New professional DigiDAD registrations: 750 by April 2027; 1,400 annually by April 2029
New young dad DigiDAD registrations: 510 by April 2027; 1,000 annually by April 2029

The Business Development Manager will play a central role in building the relationships and income pipeline that drives the training targets. DigiDAD registration growth is led by the DigiDAD Engagement Officer and wider team, with the Business Development Manager contributing through referrals identified in the course of other work.

Alongside these targets, NEYDL currently holds commissioned service contracts with several local authorities: Durham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Gateshead. A key priority for the Business Development Manager will be to maintain and strengthen these relationships, ensuring contracts are renewed and the value of our work to each commissioner is clearly evidenced. Beyond existing contracts, we are keen to secure commissioned funding in areas of the North East where we currently have limited or no presence.

We are looking for a Young Women & Girls Senior Advocate – NEST service

Salary: £33,000 - £35,000

Location: Based across Advance’s London Women’s Centres – Hammersmith, Finsbury Park and Stratford with travel across London for community appointments.

Hours: 35 Hours per week, with some working from home

Contract: Fixed term until March 2027 (possibility to extend)

About the role:

The NEST service provides trauma informed, community-based support to young women and girls aged 14-25 at risk of entering or becoming entrenched in the Criminal Justice System. The role of the NEST Advocate is to provide dedicated one-to-one support to young women and girls, building trusted relationships and coordinating practical support to build their confidence and help stabilise their lives across areas including education, housing, health, employment and interaction with justice services.

As a YWG Senior Advocate you will be responsible for managing a small caseload of young women and girls, while also supervising two YWG Advocates, providing formal and informal supervision and support. This will include oversight of safeguarding for the girls and young women they work with and supporting the quality control of the service, including regular dip-checks and data input.

About You:

To be successful as the YWG Senior Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

• A strong understanding of the challenges facing young women and girls, including the impacts of gang involvement, exploitation, mental health, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.
• Knowledge of trauma informed gendered approaches in supporting young women facing multiple forms of disadvantage.
• Current knowledge of legislation, guidance and regulations relating to safeguarding, child protection and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSE).
• Experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport.
• Experience of risk management, needs assessment, safety and support planning, particularly with young women and girls with complex/multiple needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Communications Plan and Content Creation

• Develop and deliver the annual communications and marketing plan, working with senior leadership to align activity with organisational priorities. 

• Plan, create and manage high-quality written, visual and multimedia content across media, social media, newsletters, presentations, speeches and campaign collateral. 

• Ensure all communications are accurate, impactful and consistent with The Hygiene Bank’s mission, values, tone of voice and brand guidelines. 

• Translate complex or sensitive issues around hygiene poverty into compelling stories that engage supporters and partners. 

• Provide strategic communications support for key campaigns and partnerships, including National Hygiene Week, fundraising campaigns and work with partners such as Boots, Unilever and smol. 

• Oversee approval processes, brand resources and organised filing systems for communications materials. 

2. Digital Strategy and Implementation 

• Lead digital planning, delivery and maintenance across the website, email, social media and digital campaigns. 

• Manage digital advertising activity, including paid social, Google Ads and SEO, ensuring activity is effective and delivers strong return on investment. 

• Oversee analytics, reporting and insight-driven optimisation, using performance data to guide your own work and the work of the Communications Officer. 

3. Ambassadors and Influencers 

• Build and nurture relationships with ambassadors, influencers and public supporters. 

• Develop briefs, guidance and campaign plans for influencer activity, ensuring messaging aligns with organisational values and priorities. 

• Identify opportunities to amplify diverse lived experiences and voices. 

4. Events and Campaigns 

• Lead promotional activity for national and regional events, campaigns and awareness moments, including activity with brand and corporate partners. 

• Support branding and communications for in-person and digital events, producing event-related content such as photography, video and social media. 

• Collaborate with corporate partners to produce co-branded communications and collateral that protect our brand integrity and align with partner requirements. 

5. External Engagement and media 

• Lead communications for collaborative campaigns, including End Hygiene Poverty with In Kind Direct, coordinating activity, messaging and campaign assets. 

• Build relationships with sector organisations and partners to amplify shared campaigns, priorities and messaging. 

• Secure local, regional and national media coverage, working with external agencies to develop broadcast, print and online opportunities. 

• Produce press releases, statements, case studies and briefing materials to support proactive and reactive media activity. 

• Manage suppliers, agencies and freelancers, including budgets where required. 
   

6. Data and Monitoring 

• Monitor communications performance using analytics and performance data, ad use insights to improve performance. 

• Prepare an annual review of communications performance and learning to inform future planning. 

7. Team and Internal Communications 

• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support organisation-wide communications needs, providing guidance on messaging. 

• Line manage, support and develop the Communications Officer, empowering them to succeed in their role. 

• Provide responsive and practical communications support to colleagues across the organisation.

• Full time role, or four days per week.

• Home-based contract, with occasional travel across the UK – including at least one trip to London per month for team meetings. Reasonable travel costs will be covered.
