At The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, accurate, accessible and well-managed data underpins everything from supporter stewardship to the delivery of ambitious fundraising campaigns. We are looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Senior Database Officer to help colleagues get the best from our fundraising CRM, strengthen data quality and support our ongoing transition to Raiser’s Edge NXT.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative Data and Fundraising Operations team at a time of significant growth. You will combine technical database work with stakeholder support, training and process improvement, helping colleagues use our systems confidently and effectively.

Our Data and Fundraising Operations team acts as the technical lead for many of the Charity’s systems and technical projects. Alongside developing your knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT, you’ll have opportunities to broaden your experience across Excel, Access, SharePoint, APIs, data integrations, reporting, automation and system implementation.

- Monitoring data quality and improving how supporter information is recorded
- Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and improve systems and processes
About you
You may already be working as a Database Officer, CRM Officer or charity data specialist and be ready to take the next step in your career.
You’re curious, proactive and solutions-focused. You enjoy investigating data and system issues, working with complex datasets and finding practical ways to improve processes. Just as importantly, you enjoy working with people and can explain technical information clearly to colleagues with different levels of confidence and experience.
You’ll bring:
- Proven ability to learn new systems quickly and develop advanced knowledge
- Strong data manipulation skills using Excel, Access or comparable tools
- Highly developed problem-solving skills
- The ability to investigate data or system issues methodically
- Experience managing several stakeholders and competing requirements
- The ability to draw out requirements and translate them into practical improvements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly
- A proactive approach and a high level of initiative
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you have
- Experience of working within a charity
- Advanced knowledge of Raiser’s Edge 7 or Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Experience using ImportOmatic or a similar data import tool
- Experience designing and delivering systems training
- Experience creating user guidance or process documentation
- Experience supporting CRM adoption or system change
Benefits:
- Hybrid working, with approximately 40% of your time in the office and 60% working from home each month

- A contributory pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 6%
- Life insurance for eligible pension scheme members
- Enhanced maternity and adoption leave and pay
- Employee assistance and confidential counselling services
- Flexible working options
- Subsidised on-site canteens
- A bright, modern Chelsea office close to South Kensington station

The General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches (GA) is the central charity that supports its member congregations, ministers and societies in England, Scotland and Wales. Its purpose is to promote free and inquiring religion, through inclusive, free-thinking communities that draw on wisdom from all sources, without doctrine or dogma. Our congregations are autonomous and locally led; the GA is not a hierarchical leadership body, but one that supports and leads alongside our members.
As Britain’s religious culture and context has changed, so have Unitarian communities, and the GA is in a process of adapting to best meet these changing needs.
The purpose of this role
This is a new role, created as part of a restructuring of the GA's operational team. The Administrative Coordinator is the human face of the GA's operational work. This is a role for someone who is genuinely energised by working with people - warm, organised, and reliable - and who combines administrative excellence with the wish to maximise the potential of others.
You will provide the day-to-day administrative and coordination support that keeps the GA's work with congregations, ministers, and members running smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for many people who engage with the GA, and your ability to connect - to listen, to follow through, and to make people feel empowered, inspired, and part of something that matters - will shape their experience of the organisation.
We think of this role as needing three things in equal measure: people skills, administrative excellence, and organisational ability. Plenty of people are strong on one or two. We're looking for someone who ideally brings all three but we appreciate that's a bit of a unicorn, so please don't let that put you off applying.
What you’ll be doing
- Congregational and membership administration - Serve as a first point of contact for enquiries, maintain accurate membership records, and support engagement across our wider community.
- Congregational support toolkit - Coordinate the production and publication of guidance materials, and host online meetings connecting community members with subject matter experts.
- Ministry and congregational support - Maintain key registers and records, coordinate the annual commitment-to-pay process, and triage our inbox with care and good judgement.
- Events support - Provide coordination support for the Annual Meeting and other GA events, working alongside our freelance events manager on registration, logistics, and communications.
See the attached job description for more details.
What core skills and experience you’ll have
Essential:
- Experience in an administrative or coordination role, ideally in a charity, membership body, or similar organisation
- Experience working with volunteers, congregations, or membership communities — and an understanding of what sustains them
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to hold multiple threads without losing sight of the people behind them
- Warm, clear written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
- Confidence hosting and facilitating online meetings
- Confidence with databases and digital tools, and willingness to develop Salesforce skills
Desirable:
- Familiarity with a CRM database (e.g. Salesforce, CiviCRM)
- Understanding of basic charity governance and administration
Please note: We've listed essentials and desirables in good faith, but we know no one is the finished article. If you bring the right values, approach, and most of the experience, we would love to hear from you.

We're looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who's good with people and good at organising them - someone who can recruit, train and keep in touch with the volunteers who make FFLAG's support possible.
Are you someone who enjoys building relationships and helping people do their best work? This role is about making sure FFLAG's volunteers - most of them parents of LGBT+ children themselves - feel properly recruited, trained and supported.
About FFLAG
FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity and is the UK's longest established parent support charity in the LGBT+ sector. Our history began in the grassroots parent helplines of the 1960s, grew through the 1980's and 90's as we supported anxious parents and fought against the discrimination of Section 28, becoming a formally registered charity in 2000.
Our work sounds simple, but it is life changing. We help parents and families understand, accept and support their lesbian, gay, bisexual, non-binary and transgender family members with love and pride.
We offer a range of support options spanning 1-2-1 online and helpline support services to a UK-wide monthly group Zoom meeting and face to face local groups. We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides. We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of people every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies.
What this job is all about
As Volunteer Coordinator, you'll make sure FFLAG's volunteers are properly recruited, trained and supported, so they can continue doing this work well. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
-
Identify what volunteers FFLAG needs, then recruit, induct and train them, including DBS checks and references
-
Maintain training, the volunteer handbook and the Code of Conduct up to date
-
Maintain regular contact with volunteers, so they stay engaged, safe and supported
-
Act as FFLAG's Safeguarding Lead, providing regular supervision to support volunteers
-
Keep accurate records, liaise with Trustees, and report on volunteer activity to the Board
-
Be a member of the Services and Support Committee
-
Provide support to the Operations Manager with events, as required
What are the skills and attributes you will need?
This role needs someone who's organised, approachable, and motivated by helping people do well - but it also needs real, hands-on experience of volunteer coordination from day one, since it's a small, part-time role with no one else to lean on for this work. We're specifically looking for candidates who can point to evidence of previous experience in:
-
Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers in a paid or voluntary role
-
Keeping volunteers engaged and retained over time
-
Handling safeguarding matters sensitively and appropriately
-
Working independently and comfortably in a remote-working setup
-
A genuine interest in equality, diversity, and the LGBT+ community
Please note: this role isn't suitable as a first step into volunteer management - we're looking for candidates who already have relevant, demonstrable experience in this area.
Why join us?
It's a chance to play a hands-on role at a charity with a long history of supporting parents and families, helping the volunteers who in turn support thousands of people every year. It's part-time, flexible and home-based, with 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays (both pro rata), and a pension in place.
