As an Employment & Training Officer you will deliver employment and training related information, advice and guidance to clients to enable them to develop the skills and confidence to access work experience, training courses or Further Education. You will proactively outreach at external locations and partner agencies to ensure high take up of opportunities offered through the Employment and Training Team. You will secure employment outcomes for clients through provision of IAG, job brokerage, training and complementary support. You will also engage with employers and partner agencies to secure job opportunities, apprenticeships and work experience placements and broker these for clients.

• Proven track record or delivering employment and training related Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to unemployed people on a 1-2 or small group basis
• Knowledge of welfare and employment related benefits
• Experience of creating quality CVs, Supporting Statements and job applications
• Ability to support clients with multiple and complex needs and an understanding of the barriers they face
• Ability to coach and motivate clients

Project Ecologist – Species Recovery
Contract type: Fixed term, until the end of March 2029

This exciting new role is a part of the Natural England Species Recovery Programme. The “Wild Again: Restoring England’s Wildlife” initiative aims to enhance threatened species populations across the UK. Somerset Wildlife Trust are excited to lead the Bolstering the Somerset Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) population project.

About You and the Role

The Project Ecologist will be responsible for delivering habitat and bittern species surveys across the Somerset Levels and Moors project area. This will include assessing a range of reedbed and wetland mosaic types to assess suitability for bittern, as well as engaging and advising landowners on habitat enhancement.

Supported by Somerset Wildlife Trust staff, landowner engagement will involve the identification of improvement works funded by the project. The survey work will be completed with the support of a new, dedicated volunteer group led by the Species Recovery Project Ecologist.

Responsibility 1: Lead Ecological Surveys

Ensure correct data reporting by:

• Leading bittern, reedbed, and wetland mosaic habitat surveys across the project area (Somerset Levels and Moors). This work includes surveying on private land, as well as National Nature Reserves owned by SWT, RSPB, and Natural England.
• Keeping up to date with SWT data handling & reporting standards, particularly in close collaboration with Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC).
• Working closely with the Project Manager for the BSB project, sharing specialist species knowledge, reporting project progress, being involved in project meetings, and recording volunteer hours.

Responsibility 2: Enhance Habitat Conditions

Improve reedbed and wetland mosaic sites by:

• Identifying key sites for restoration and/or enhancement, supported by specialist habitat knowledge and SERC.
• Collaborating with SWT’s Honeygar Land Management and Monitoring Manager to engage local landowners and organisations around the Avalon Marshes area with the aim of habitat restoration and/or enhancement for bittern recovery.
• Advising landowners across the Somerset Levels project area on habitat enhancement and restoration, identifying and allocating use of project funding to support work on private land.
• Ensure best communication practices that are in line with SWT standards.

Responsibility 3: Manage Volunteers

Provide leadership and support by:

• Providing leadership and mentoring to volunteers so that they can conduct species and habitat surveys without direct supervision.
• Working with SWT’s Volunteering & Community Support Officer to ensure best practice when engaging and recruiting volunteers, including following SWT safety procedures and capturing issues raised by volunteers.
• Contributing to the recruitment & promotion of volunteers for the new bittern survey group, which involves working closely with the Project Manager and SWT Marketing & Communications team

The Leeds Mind Youth Panel Network is an exciting new youth-led social action programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund through the #iwill Fund. The project will establish youth panels in communities across Leeds, creating opportunities for young people aged up to 20 (and up to 25 for those requiring additional support) to develop leadership skills, influence local decisions related to mental health, shape community services, and lead meaningful social action on issues that matter to them. As Youth Panel Co-ordinator, you will lead the development and delivery of the Leeds Mind Youth Panel Network, supporting young people to become active changemakers within their communities. Programme Coordinator

The Race Equality Foundation has been awarded a transformative multi-year grant from The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF) as part of its Health Inequities: Structural Racism and Discrimination Partnership. The programme will establish three Anti-Racism Collaboratives (ARCs), each bringing together voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, people with lived experience, health and care organisations, local authorities and other partners to tackle the structural causes of ethnic health inequities through co-production, evidence and collective action.

As Programme Coordinator, you will play a central role in enabling the successful delivery of this ambitious programme. Working closely with the Lead Changemaker, Changemakers and colleagues across the Foundation, you will ensure the programme has the systems, coordination and administrative support needed to deliver high-quality partnership working and meaningful co-production across the three ARCs. ​

This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will coordinate meetings and events, maintain programme systems and records, support communications, and ensure partners and community members are well supported to participate in programme activities. By enabling the smooth day-to-day operation of the programme, you will help create the conditions for partners and communities to work together to tackle structural racism and reduce health inequities.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Community Connector provides a first-point-of-contact mental health service within GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs). The role includes assessments and brief psychosocial interventions, as well as coordinating access to community resources that support mental, physical, and social wellbeing.

Key responsibilities:

• Work jointly with the Mental Health Practitioner in conducting assessments, including risk assessment, and to work with patients to support them in identifying their socially determined needs and goals, provide self-management tools and facilitate the development of personal support plans

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.

We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. In this role you will provide confidential emotional support by telephone, email and text, as well supporting our skilled volunteers through their development and during their weekly shifts.

This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people. Working within SANE support services requires a high level of empathy and emotional resilience as well as excellent communication skills. SANE takes take pride in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for both our staff and volunteers. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with counselling, psychology or therapy qualifications or any other therapeutic disciplines who are committed to providing compassionate mental health support.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with parishes across the Diocese, helping them care for and adapt their church buildings for future generations, while balancing heritage conservation, sustainability and mission.

Our churches are among the most significant historic buildings in Sussex. As Church Buildings Officer, you will provide advice and support to parishes, manage permissions for repairs and routine works, assist with faculty applications, and support the work of the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC).

Reporting to the Church Buildings Team Leader, you will:

• Manage the List B permissions process on behalf of the Archdeacons.
• Advise parishes on the care, repair and improvement of church buildings, contents and churchyards.
• Support parishes in using the Online Faculty System and navigating permissions processes.

• Prepare agendas, committee papers and draft minutes for DAC meetings.

About You

The Volunteer Experience & Engagement Officer plays a key role in ensuring that volunteers have a positive, meaningful, and impactful experience with the charity. About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work on people experiencing homelessness across London. As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients. Every relationship you build and every gift you secure will help create real opportunities for our clients to move away from homelessness and towards safety, stability and independence.

You will take the lead in developing and managing meaningful relationships with major donors, creating thoughtful and engaging journeys that bring them closer to our work and the difference it makes day to day. Alongside nurturing existing supporters, you will identify and secure new funding opportunities, building a strong and sustainable pipeline of donors and driving forward this new area of income generation within the team. Working collaboratively across SHP, you will connect philanthropists with our services in a way that feels personal, impactful and rooted in the realities of our work, while contributing to the wider fundraising targets that enable us to keep delivering life changing support.

Hybrid working for us means a mix of in office working in Kings Cross and home working. Currently two days in the office (usually Wednesday and Friday) with the rest from home.

• You have experience building relationships with donors, supporters or partners, and know how to turn those relationships into meaningful income or long term support.
• You’re a confident communicator, able to bring a cause to life through conversations and written content that genuinely connects people to impact.
• You’re proactive and driven, comfortable spotting opportunities, growing a pipeline and following through to secure results.
• You’re organised and detail focused, able to manage multiple relationships and keep accurate records using CRM or similar systems.

As a Specialist Debt Adviser, you will manage a complex caseload, providing comprehensive debt advice and casework to clients facing a range of financial challenges. You will also play an important role in supporting junior team members, contributing to service development and helping to maintain quality standards across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients requiring specialist debt advice and casework.
• Conduct appointments and develop tailored action plans to help clients address their financial circumstances.
• Negotiate with creditors and implement appropriate debt solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of two years' experience providing accredited debt advice.
• A recognised Level 3 Debt Advice qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of debt solutions, including Debt Relief Orders, Breathing Space, Debt Management Plans and bankruptcy.
• Experience managing complex cases independently from assessment through to resolution.
• Excellent communication, advocacy and client relationship skills.
• Strong administrative, IT and case management skills.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
• A commitment to supporting vulnerable and financially excluded communities.

Health Consultant Role

This role is an essential part of CoramBAAF’s multi-disciplinary offer for CoramBAAF members, providing expertise, knowledge and experience of health practice and policy within Adoption, Kinship and Foster care. Key responsibilities include

• Providing leadership and direction in respect of CoramBAAF’s goal to promote positive health outcomes for care experienced children and young people including adopted children and children in kinship care.

• Developing policy and good practice guidance for health and social care professionals and services in a multi-disciplinary context.

• Facilitating the CoramBAAF Health Group and the Health Advisory Committee and ensure that the work of the health group continuously develops to meet the first two objectives.

As a professional membership organisation CoramBAAF is responsible for delivering high quality research-based policy advice and briefing updates to its members and other relevant stakeholders, including central and local government. This role sits within the policy, research and development (PRD) team. The PRD team is led by the Managing Director of policy, research and development and consists of consultants who specialise in different forms of family placement from an interdisciplinary perspective including social work, legal, health and research. Core to the team’s role is the contribution to membership services and products, including publications, conferences, briefings, practice notes and forms. The team also convenes a number of advisory committees and special interest groups that support and feed into these primary functions.
