Pro Bono Community is a registered charity that has developed specialised training programmes for students, trainees and lawyers covering the practical skills involved in delivering free legal advice and areas of social welfare law. In conjunction with the training, the charity arranges and manages volunteering placements at Law Centres and other advice agencies. The charity’s activities include a number of grant-funded projects which the coordinator will be heavily involved in.

About the role

Pro Bono Community is looking for a Training and Volunteer Coordinator to help us run programmes aimed at improving the amount and quality of access to justice by training law students and others and then placing them to work as volunteers at advice agencies.

The Training and Volunteer Coordinator will report to and work alongside the Director to undertake work supporting the charity’s activities with a focus on recruiting and training students and lawyers and then coordinating volunteering placements for them at Law Centres and advice agencies. The role also includes administrative work relating to a pioneering digital advice clinic the charity runs in conjunction with a Citizens Advice agency in London.

This is a full-time role with a salary of £31-35,000 depending on experience and the charity is seeking to appoint someone with knowledge of training and the legal/advice sectors and/or experience in a similar role. Occasional weekend work may be required. The role will involve working from home with some travel involved to London and elsewhere in support of the charity’s activities. The role includes annual leave of 25 days and a workplace pension scheme.

Last year Smart Works Leeds hit an important milestone when they supported over 1000 women with their coaching and dressing service. The Fundraising and Partnership Lead will focus on the corporate and stakeholder partnership fundraising activity, supporting the Head of Fundraising to generate a six‑figure annual income portfolio. The role involves identifying, approaching and converting new corporate prospects into engaged funding partners aligned with the charity’s cause and objectives.

The Self‑Employment Programme is a growing initiative designed to help 18–25‑year‑olds transform their passions, skills and talents into real income‑generating opportunities. Through coaching, group delivery, mentoring, and practical business development activities, the programme provides accessible, person‑centred support to young people who want to pursue self‑employment as part of their pathway to independence.

The Self‑Employment Coach plays a key role in delivering high‑quality, empowering support to young people, working alongside the Self‑Employment Programme Manager to co‑design, deliver and evaluate a dynamic, inclusive and impactful programme.

Overall Job Purpose

To provide structured, person‑centred coaching to young people exploring or preparing for self‑employment. This includes delivering 1‑2‑1 and group sessions, supporting beneficiaries to develop viable business ideas, and helping them access tools, resources and opportunities needed to succeed. The role also contributes to the programme’s administrative, monitoring, partnership and outreach activities.

Working Conditions

The post is 21 hours per week, typically worked between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The Self‑Employment Coach will work closely with young people, their families, education professionals, and colleagues across AFK to deliver tailored coaching and support.

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is seeking an experienced and compassionate ESOL Coordinator to support our Community Hub Project. You will coordinate ESOL volunteers and resources, manage referrals and assessments to place users in classes, and administer registrations using RAK systems. Since 1990, Public Law Project has held power to account through landmark legal challenges. PLP’s recent work, delivered in close collaboration with its brilliant clients and partners, includes challenging the government's Rwanda immigration policy, securing justice for the Windrush generation, and scrutinising the use of AI in public decision-making.

To continue tackling the most pressing legal injustices of our time, we need to increase our reach and engagement with our key audiences (including policy makers, the legal community and civil society organisations), amplifying our influence and impact.  

The Role  

Reporting to the Communications & Engagement Director, this is an exciting role focused on supporting and building PLP’s external profile and audience engagement. You’ll be responsible for: building relationships with journalists and securing media coverage, day-to-day content creation and the development of our digital channels. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, as well as partners and clients, to ensure our communications are timely, inclusive, and impactful.

You would be joining the team at a significant moment. The issues we work on – from immigration to AI – have never been more salient or more important. You would be joining us after we have launched our bold new strategy and play a part in refreshing our visual identity and shaping our narrative.

We’re looking for someone who is:  

Digitally savvy, media-smart and a creative storyteller: You have strong news judgement and storytelling ability, with experience securing media coverage and creating compelling content across digital channels. You enjoy translating complex legal and policy issues into content that engages and inspires — and know how to tailor it for different platforms and audiences. 

A collaborative colleague: You will enjoy working across teams with colleagues at all levels and with external partners and clients. 

Organised and determined: You are an excellent project manager who enjoys developing plans and putting them into action
