Sounds great, what will I be doing?
As a Safe House Advocate, you will provide high-quality emotional and practical frontline support to residents who have experienced trafficking and modern slavery, including sexual and criminal exploitation, domestic servitude, and other forms of exploitation. You will manage a caseload of female survivors within the National Referral Mechanism, advocating on their behalf to ensure access to ECAT rights and supporting them to navigate complex systems. Your role includes conducting regular safeguarding risk assessments, maintaining detailed case records, and responding promptly to incidents or urgent issues to protect residents' safety and wellbeing. You will carry out daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety checks to ensure the accommodation remains secure, while also covering other safe houses as needed and supporting new staff members. Your responsibilities extend to liaising confidently with public and private services, writing official correspondence to agencies such as the Home Office, and keeping up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and child welfare considerations. Additionally, you will participate in team meetings, supervisions, clinical support sessions, and mandatory training, all while working to help survivors maintain positive and safe relationships with their children.

The ideal Safe House Advocate will hold qualifications in Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children, and Modern Slavery awareness, supported by practical experience in safeguarding vulnerable adults, incident management, and working within supported accommodation or housing management. They will be confident working independently through lone working and possess strong organisational skills to manage schedules and deadlines while prioritising urgent matters effectively. A thorough understanding of safeguarding issues, GDPR principles, and relevant legislation such as the Modern Slavery Act and the National Referral Mechanism is essential. The role requires the ability to complete administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, alongside proficiency in using multiple digital platforms including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and case management systems. Knowledge of fire safety protocols is also important to ensure the security of the safe house environment.

We are seeking an exceptional advocate with a policy, legal or related digital rights campaigning background to work with us furthering privacy and civil liberties in the UK at one of the UK’s leading rights NGOs. Initially, this role will be principally challenging facial recognition surveillance and scrutinising police surveillance/AI powers.
The right Senior Advocacy Officer will help us to lobby UK Parliament to further privacy and wider rights at a critical time – when a legal framework on police use of facial recognition is very soon to be introduced, and police are expanding their use of AI and new surveillance technologies. You’ll build on your strong experience to be a credible and proactive lobbyist in Parliament, write expert briefings and be confident meeting parliamentarians, take a leading role liaising with policy stakeholders, advise on strategic litigation, be a leading advocate in the press and the public forum, develop policy positions on key issues, and help drive our public campaigns for change.
About you
You’ll have 3+ years experience in a legal or policy capacity, or in a comparable advocacy environment that relied on your expertise on technology and rights issues – ideally involving facial recognition. You’ll have a strong track record of advocacy success.

Role Summary:
The Programme Development Officer is responsible for ensuring that The Girls' Network develops high-quality, consistent, and impactful programmes for girls and young women across all regions. Working closely with the colleagues in the Programme team, volunteers, and education establishments, the post-holder will support the development and continuous improvement of our mentoring, workshop, and ambassador offer. They will ensure that programmes are grounded in best practice and aligned to organisational strategy. Key responsibilities:
The Marketing Officer (Retention) at CBM UK is an important role in making our lifechanging work possible. The position holder is responsible for producing direct mail and digital fundraising appeals for individual supporter audiences that will elicit strong engagement and ongoing financial support.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing and across the Fundraising, Impact and Communications department, the Marketing Officer (Retention) plans and delivers 10-12 fundraising appeals per year to existing supporters. These include one off cash fundraising appeals, newsletters, and prayer diaries, which are produced through working with external copywriters, designers and printers. The role works across multiple
marketing channels, including direct mail, email, web, and telephone, towards an agreed income target.
The position holder also supports the development of fundraising plans, supporter
(customer) journeys, and the testing of new channels and messaging.
Cultivation appeals (60%)
a. Direct mail: Deliver regular and inspiring off-line direct mail campaigns to existing supporters on time and within budget. The role-holder will plan, co-ordinate and prepare fundraising appeals. This involves creating briefs, working alongside
freelance copywriters and designers, and managing print and fulfilment suppliers.
b. Email marketing: Plan, build, and send mass marketing and fundraising emails to existing supporters.
c. Online landing pages: Build landing pages (using WordPress) to support individual fundraising and offline marketing appeals. Ensuring landing pages on the CBM website are integrated with offline appeals and are engaging to existing audiences. This includes utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools aimed at maximising online traffic and income.
d. Newsletters and prayer diaries: Lead on the planning and implementation of reporting back to existing supporters about CBM UK’s work as part of their donor journey, through delivering supporter newsletters, e-news, and prayer diaries, currently produced three times per year.
e. Internal briefings: Prepare internal marketing materials for colleagues and provide briefings for supporter facing teams ahead of each appeal.
f. Agency and freelancer management: Develop excellent working relationships with existing and new agencies and suppliers, including marketing agencies, freelance copywriters and designers, print suppliers, and mailing houses. Evaluate and source new agencies and suppliers as appropriate.
High donor fundraising (20%)
a. High donor direct mail: Lead on CBM UK’s high donor fundraising programme, through planning and managing regular direct mail communications and fundraising asks to this segment of supporters, working towards achieving annual income targets.
b. Relationship development: Work alongside the Supporter Relations team to develop and carry out a donor journey for high donors, including the planning,
briefing and reporting of personalised communications, carried out by the Supporter Relations team through phone, email, and post.
Planning and reporting (10%)
a. Analysis and reporting: Review appeal performance against key performance indicators (response rates, average value, net income) to report back and provide learnings to support decision making around future activity.
b. Data and CRM handling: Develop a good knowledge of the CRM system (SalesForce), including the creation of data briefs and appeal selections through the CRM, and ensuring clear recording and reporting of direct marketing activity.
Other (10%)
a. Sector knowledge: Maintain awareness and anticipation of charity sector trends relating to direct marketing and keep abreast of competitor activities to enable CBM to respond and adapt quickly where appropriate.

At Allsorts Youth, we are on a mission to make sure every LGBTQ+ child in Sussex has the chance to make friends, build community & feel proud of who they are.
We want parents & carers to know they are not alone & feel confident supporting their children. We want every adult in an LGBTQ+ child’s life - from their teacher to their GP - to be safe & welcoming.
Our vision is of a world where LGBTQ+ children & young people can be themselves and enjoy their lives.
By placing children and young people’s voices at the centre of our work, we ensure that our understanding of their ongoing and evolving needs continues to inform our service provision.
There are three main strands to our service provision, all of which aim to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ children and young people.
Youth Service: We offer youth groups and programmes, youth coaching, activities, residential trips, and much more for children and young people across Sussex.
Parents & Carers Service: We offer groups, one-to-one support, activities, information sessions, and much more for parents & carers of LGBTQ+ children and young people across Sussex.
Training and Education Service: We provide LGBTQ+ Inclusion Training for a wide range of organisations, with a focus on organisations working with children and young people. We also run a schools programme.

£13,202 (full-time salary equivalent is £26,403)
NJC Scale 4, Point 7
Contract: Fixed term until March 31st 2028, with possible extension subject to funding

18.5 hours per week
Location: Brighton & Hove
Annual Leave:
27 days, plus bank holidays pro rata
Allsorts Youth Project listens to, supports, and connects children & young people (under 26) who are LGBTQ+.
