About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Financial Education Programme Manager & Workshop Facilitator to join our Children and Young People team and play a leading role in delivering one of our exciting new financial education partnerships.
This is an exciting opportunity to join The Money Charity at a time of growth and help shape a brand-new programme that will reach thousands of primary-aged children across the UK. Working in partnership with one of the UK's leading financial services organisations, you'll have the opportunity to influence how the programme develops, helping to create an engaging and impactful experience for both schools and corporate volunteers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves working with children. At the heart of the role is delivering engaging, inspiring and interactive financial education workshops to primary-aged pupils. Alongside workshop delivery, you'll manage this exciting new volunteer programme delivered in partnership with a major financial services organisation. Working closely with our corporate partner and volunteer network, you'll ensure volunteers are recruited, trained, supported and deployed effectively to maximise both educational impact and volunteer experience. These volunteers will assist you with the delivery of your workshops.
You'll also play a key role in growing the reach of the programme by promoting the workshops to schools and community organisations, building relationships and managing the booking process from initial enquiry through to delivery.
This role has been designed to offer flexibility and would particularly suit an experienced teacher or facilitator looking for either a 28-hour working week or a term-time-only position.

Community Action Nepal (CAN) was established 25 years ago by the world-renowned mountaineer Doug Scott CBE, to raise the living standards of remote mountain communities in Nepal. In this time CAN, working predominantly with our implementation partner in Nepal, has built 17 schools, 19 health posts and three Porter Rescue Shelters and delivered a wide range of livelihoods, agriculture and cultural programmes, improving the lives of many thousands of people in rural Nepal. Sadly, Doug died in 2020 but CAN Trustees and staff are committed to continuing his work in Nepal.
We are looking for an organised and proactive Office Administrator to provide full office administration to the charity. The position is part of a small team. The post holder will need to be self-reliant and work on their own initiative to co-ordinate all elements of the office administration of the charity, whilst working closely with the Operations Director, Fundraising Officer, Trustees and Patrons. The office administrator is often the first point of contact for donors and sponsors and therefore a confident telephone manner is essential and ability to respond to verbal and email enquiries; ability to delegate and refer enquiries to the relevant party eg Operations Director, Fundraising Officer, trustees, patrons. Responsible for the banking of donations, payments on-line and accurately recording information on the back-office systems including XERO for banking and being familiar with the functions and communications via a CRM for client relationship database. Responsible for communicating with the charity’s appointed accountant and the Charity Treasurer for general financial and banking queries. The role will include supporting the fundraiser with external events where necessary, particularly in Cumbria

Key responsibilities
- As part of Saferworld’s senior leadership, you will support organisation-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making. You will monitor funding trends, identify emerging issues relevant to Saferworld’s work and partnership approaches, and develop appropriate strategies to respond.
- Working closely with the Senior Operations Team, you will ensure funding plans are developed across business units and thematic/regional areas, and that income pipelines are maintained while quality assurance and active cost recovery are proactively pursued. You will oversee the funding and prospects pipeline, produce data and analysis to support decision-making, and provide regular reporting to senior leaders and the Board.
- Externally, you will represent Saferworld with key donors, partners and networks, building strategic relationships and identifying funding opportunities.
- You will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Saferworld’s funding strategy, ensuring a balanced, ethical and diverse portfolio of restricted and unrestricted income streams. This will include securing quality funding against agreed targets and supporting income diversification through trusts and foundations, commercial funding, and other sources.
- You will work closely with Saferworld’s Grant Management Team to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to donor relationship management and cultivation. You will also lead the design of multi-country and thematic proposals, as well as consortia bid development, to strengthen partnerships and support new ways of resourcing Saferworld’s strategy.
- The post-holder will set standards for collaborative and participatory programme design, manage proposal development processes from opportunity notice to contract signing, and ensure learning from donor feedback is used to strengthen our fundraising approach.
- You will lead the Funding Leadership Team to ensure cross-organisational ownership of fundraising efforts, and work closely with regional, thematic, policy and grant management colleagues throughout the funding cycle.
People and leadership
- You will line-manage the Funding and Programme Development Team and foster an environment where staff feel empowered, take responsibility and are accountable for achieving organisational objectives.
- You will ensure the team facilitates strong participatory programme design and proposal development with partners and staff, embedding Saferworld’s organisational values and principles. You will also support the team to work closely with colleagues across the organisation, grounding proposals in learning, evidence and evaluation findings.
About you
- You will bring proven senior leadership experience in funding, with a track record of developing and implementing funding strategies and raising income through a range of donors, including individuals, institutions, trusts and foundations. You will also have experience securing high-value contracts and grants of seven figures.
- You will have strong experience of leading complex participatory programme design, including developing budgets, monitoring frameworks and proposals. You will be confident coordinating programme development processes with multiple teams and partners to ensure a collaborative and inclusive approach.
- You will have a proven track record of motivating, mentoring and managing a team, and supporting that team to think creatively about fundraising. You will also be confident developing networks, building alliances, and nurturing relationships with individuals, collaborators and funders.
- You will bring a strong understanding of key political, development and humanitarian trends and debates, particularly linked to peacebuilding, development, human rights, governance, and security and justice. You will also have sound knowledge of UK civil society and charity regulatory requirements, and an understanding of the current international aid, peacebuilding and human rights funding environment.
- Experience of working and/or living in conflict-affected contexts, and understanding of peacebuilding and conflict prevention, are desirable.

- You will have excellent leadership and management skills, including strategic planning and business development. You will be able to provide sound financial and compliance advice, demonstrate good financial stewardship, and bring a creative, proactive approach to your work.
- You will be able to set priorities while working under pressure, adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities, and move between hands-on involvement in proposal writing and strategic oversight.
- You will bring strong communication skills, including experience of communicating across cultures and with diverse audiences. You will understand the power imbalances that may be reflected in programme design and budgeting, and bring a strong commitment to inclusive processes and to shifting power and resources to partners.

The charity reaches around 1,200 individuals (annually) with the most deep-rooted needs; people whose interlinking mental and physical health, and trauma and substance use challenges mean they often struggle to access mainstream support. The Director of Finance and Operations is a key role in the leadership team of a dynamic charity making a real difference in young people’s lives. Managing a small team, you’ll have responsibility for a range of essential business functions central to Switchback’s success as a charity: financial and business planning, HR processes, infrastructure (including IT), governance, risk management and compliance.
You’ll also support our business development and strategic partnership-building, helping us tap into exciting new areas of income and impact, including our plans to share our learning through training and consultancy.
Crucially, you’ll oversee and develop our systems and processes in a way that protects Switchback’s agile and human working culture. The role

Essential criteria
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience working within an international charity.
- Strong understanding of charity finance, including restricted funding, grant reporting and Charity SORP.
- Demonstrable experience producing high-quality financial reporting, budgeting and statutory accounts.
- Experience improving financial systems, controls and reporting processes.

The Director of Finance will lead on all aspects of the Museum’s financial management, including producing monthly accounts and strengthening internal controls and processes. They will oversee treasury functions, including the management of the Museum’s cash holdings and endowments. Serve as Company Secretary, ensuring full compliance with Charity Commission requirements and the Companies Act.

Key Accountabilities
- Prepare annual budgets, working with managers to achieve realistic targets and review figures throughout the year.
- Prepare monthly management accounts including cash-flow forecasts for presentation to the Director and Trustees.
- Prepare monthly management accounts to report and analyse any significant variance between actual and budget result.
- Prepare year-end draft accounts ready for audit and assist the audit team with any queries.

- Organise and oversee the daily and monthly accounting procedures in respect of banking, cash handling, data entry, bill payments etc.
- General financial and business management as well as co-ordination of Museum affairs including Investments, Banking, Legal, and Insurance, Contracts, Licence Agreements and other associated matters.
- Provide the accounting function for fundraising projects including Heritage Lottery, Arts Council, other grants and any other fund providers.
- Provide financial and textual information in support of major capital expenditure projects being an active and crucial team member.
- Preparing Month Gift Aid returns and Quarterly VAT returns and providing advice on VAT and Gift Aid or any other tax matters.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly Pension contributions to Scottish Widows.
- Provide statistical information and returns to various local and national bodies.
What you'll bring
Experience:
- Proven experience of leading a finance function at a senior level is essential, along with extensive experience shaping and delivering financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Experience of managing partial exemption VAT calculations and compliance is vital, along with a track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with auditors, regulators, trustees and external stakeholders.
- We would particularly welcome candidates with experience of working within the charity, not-for-profit, or a similarly regulated sector.
Knowledge & Skills
- You will be an excellent people manager, who has exceptional attention to detail and a robust understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Able to demonstrate strong initiative and accountability in delivering work to a high standard.
- Knowledge of restricted/unrestricted fund accounting and Gift Aid.
- You will have comprehensive knowledge of the full MS Suite, but will excel at Excel.
- Knowledge and experience of using Iplicit and Sage accounting and payroll is preferred.

We are seeking a collaborative and creative Director who is rigorous, centres care and supports people to flourish, to lead our brand new Playhouse Ensembles strand within Playhouse Connect's exciting new chapter.
The Playhouse Ensembles Director will be responsible for leading 10 ensembles in total, including:
