Finance Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Operations & Financial Processing

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accurate coding, reconciliations, and documentation of all transactions.
• Monitor income and expenditure across multiple platforms (e.g., Stripe, GoCardless, SumUp) and escalate anomalies as required.
• Process outgoing payments, including contractors, payroll, and expenses, in line with internal policies.
• Manage invoice generation and debt recovery, ensuring accurate tracking of receivables.

Management Accounts & Reporting

• Support monthly reconciliations with bookkeepers and accountants, including VAT preparation.
• Produce timely accruals-based management accounts and support financial interpretation for Directors.
• Lead on budgets, forecasts, and project-specific financial plans, including ongoing performance monitoring.
• Support preparation of statutory accounts and ensure alignment with charity-sector best practice.

Compliance & Administration

• Manage contracts with finance-related service providers (e.g., accountants, auditors, banks).
• Oversee payroll administration and ensure accuracy of statutory payments.
• Support governance filings, funder financial reporting, and coordination of insurance policies.
• Maintain well-organised financial records to support audits and funder reviews.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience in the charity/NGO sector at management level (Essential).

Purpose

Horatio’s Garden is a nationwide charity creating and nurturing beautifully designed gardens in NHS’s spinal injury centres.

The Patient Experience Manager will be instrumental in supporting patients and families use of the garden. 

Along with the Head Gardener, you will be responsible for the smooth running of a thriving, vibrant garden ensuring the patient and their family are appropriately supported throughout their time in the spinal unit. 

This role requires you to manage a team of volunteers and work closely with the Head Gardener who maintains the horticultural standard of the garden and delivers therapeutic horticulture sessions.  You will be managed by the National Patient Experience Lead.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clinical and non-clinical NHS staff, corporate sponsors, funders, the Fundraising team, the Communications team and the National Patient Experience Manager. 

The gardens have been beautifully designed and maintained, and the role of the garden needs to reflect an appropriate environment for patients and their families at all stages of their stay.  From the initial welcome, to ensuring the contact and relationship is consistent with activities to suit their needs.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering social activities, supported by the charity’s National Patient Experience Manager and in collaboration with the wider Spinal Injuries team in Cardiff. These activities will mainly need to be held at the weekend or in the afternoons which are critical times in the garden when most patients are available and often have friends and family to visit. Currently the Events programme includes seasonal celebrations and social and craft activities. External facilitators also deliver workshops and live music performances.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, proactive individual who is efficient, well organised and has outstanding communication and relationship building skills. You will need to be adaptable and friendly and confident working with a wide range of people including people with spinal injuries and their families, NHS staff, volunteers and many different teams within the charity.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

People with spinal injuries

· Develop relationships with patients and families to ensure the best experience for them in the garden at every stage of their stay

· Maintain a consistent social and arts activity programme appropriate for the current patient group, liaising with the National Patient Experience Manager and managing the volunteers accordingly

· Organise a programme of seasonal events, reflecting the needs of patients

· Work with the Impact Manager to monitor patient experience and the impact of the garden

·       Ensure the garden is managed to allow the correct balance to be in place to benefit both patients and external parties (major donors, trusts, corporate groups and other visitors)

NHS staff

· Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with NHS clinical teams and voluntary services

Volunteers

· Recruitment and training of new volunteers

· Manage the team of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the garden with patient experience at its core

Fundraising and Communications

· Work with fundraising managers, Head Gardener and volunteers to develop opportunities to generate income in the garden through friends, corporate friends and third-party fundraising

· Support corporate sponsor events and fundraising opportunities

· Represent the garden and charity at key events

· Promote the local social media accounts and provide regular updates for content

Administrative

· Ensure all administrative tasks associated with the role are monitored, completed and maintained

Are you passionate about supporting refugees, and want to use your skills to make a difference to their lives? We are looking for a Resettlement Manager, to lead our small but committed group of caseworkers who support refugees to settle in the area and help them to rebuild their lives.

Our new Resettlement Manager will oversee our delivery of the Home Office’s resettlement schemes, which we manage in partnership with Nottingham City and County Councils. 

In this busy and varied role you will be responsible for ensuring the Resettlement Scheme is meeting its service delivery targets. You will lead and develop the team to make sure clients receive accurate information and appropriate support. You will liaise with external partners such as Nottingham City Council regarding all aspects of service delivery, and will be expected to attend relevant interagency meetings and conferences to influence positive change.

This role will involve line-management responsibilities, and you will be required to provide some casework cover during staff absences. You will also be a member of our management team, and as such will play a key role in helping to develop Nottingham Refugee Forum’s strategic aims and service delivery. 

We're looking for someone with:- 

• Minimum of two year’s recent experience of managing a team

• Minimum one year’s recent experience of providing advice and support in a paid or voluntary capacity to vulnerable people

AFK is a national charity creating opportunities for children and young people who are disabled or neurodiverse, to increase their independence, reach their individual potential and remove the barriers they face. Working Relationships

This role is all about building strong relationships across the organisation to align marketing and communications with our priorities, juggling income generation, service promotion, and leadership communications.

This role will work alongside a Senior Research and Evaluation Officer to deliver high-quality consultancy projects and will report to the charity’s Director of Research and Impact. The role will involve collaborating with different teams from across the organisation and will include coordinating and managing colleagues on consultancy activities.  The role will also contribute significantly to business development work to support the charity’s income generation.

The consultancy team is part of the charity’s wider research and impact team, who collectively have two areas of responsibility: evaluating and reporting the impact of the charity’s programmes and providing research and evaluation consultancy and strategy support to education organisations.

The successful candidate will have strong quantitative and qualitative research skills and have a proven track record of delivering evaluation projects in education or a related field. They will be highly experienced with managing stakeholder relationships and delivering concurrent projects and, ideally, will have also contributed to bid writing and/or other income-generation activities. While this role can be based at any of our offices throughout the UK, some travel will be required (mainly to London) to attend in-person meetings.

This energising role is central to the growth of our corporate partnerships program, with a strong focus on developing new business while continuing to strengthen and maximise existing relationships. It’s a varied and fast-paced position where no two weeks are the same, requiring energy, initiative and a commercial mindset. One day you might be identifying and securing new corporate partners, and the next you could be working closely with existing supporters to deepen engagement through initiatives such as corporate volunteering days or bespoke fundraising activity. The role also offers significant opportunity to build on the success of our corporate Firewalk, which launched as a pilot event last year and proved hugely successful, with clear potential to grow and enhance it. There is plenty of scope to think creatively and shape innovative partnership ideas that will drive long-term income growth.

A successful Corporate Partnerships Manager will have:

• Proven experience in fundraising, business development, or a related field, with a track record of securing and managing corporate partnerships
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively with a variety of audiences, from corporate decision-makers to volunteers
• Understanding of the local business community and Phyllis Tuckwell’s catchment area across West Surrey & North East Hampshire
• Experience managing relationships with corporate partners, supporters, and the ability to deliver exceptional stewardship
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a busy, collaborative team
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to support corporate events and fundraising activities
• A full driving licence and access to their own vehicle

ASSIST Trauma Care is one of the leading UK providers of therapy for the psychological effects of trauma and, in particular, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. We are seeking a Specialist Children’s Trauma Therapist to work throughout Northants/Rugby.

You would be required to deliver trauma-focused CBT to children affected by trauma. 

You must be experienced in working with children, delivering CBT techniques, and have a minimum of post-diploma experience in working with psychological trauma.

Summary

Since January 2023, there has been a regular pattern of worship on site in Church House Chapel and online prayer and worship offered by staff for staff based at Church House and in the NCIs as follows: 

• Weekly Wednesday Eucharist (said) at 12.30pm in Church HouseChapel; 
• Almost monthly'special' Eucharists with choir, congregationalsingingandsermon; 
• Daily online Morning Prayer, 8.45am; 
• Daily emails offering prayer; and, 
• Weekly Pause for Prayer email on Fridays. 

In order to ensure the sustainability of the on-site worship at Church House, the Chief Officers of the NCIs are looking for someone who can take on the role of Worship Coordinator. This role focuses on the on-site worship offering, though the Worship Coordinator will be helpful in offering support and collegiality to staff offering online worship and prayer.  

As Worship Coordinator you will take the lead in ensuring that there is always a weekly Eucharist, and bringing people together to provide a pattern of worship in Church House Chapel that reflects the diversity of staff at Church House.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interviews will be taking place on 2nd March 2026 between 12:30pm-15:30pm at Church House, Westminster

• A salary of £7,224.80 per annum (£36,124 FTE), plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
