About Woman's Trust

The charity was established in 1996 to meet the gap in specialist mental health services, is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. Our approach is traumainformed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recovery from the trauma. We are committed to a positive, inclusive and equitable environment for our staff, service users and volunteers.

Alongside delivering our existing 1-1 counselling, self-development workshops and therapeutic support groups for women who have experienced domestic abuse, we are focused on developing our innovative mental health services for young women and girls, delivering new peer-led support groups and providing therapeutic groups to children and their mothers. We are also committed to developing further awarenessraising workshops and training for professionals, building on our research and policy to improve systems nationally.

About the role

As a Young Women & Girls' Groupworker, you will deliver therapeutic groupwork and short-term counselling to young women and girls aged 16–25 who are affected by, or at risk of, domestic abuse and related forms of gender-based violence.

The role combines psycho-educational group facilitation, one-to-one counselling, and outreach/engagement work, contributing to improved emotional wellbeing, confidence, and self-esteem among participants. All services are delivered within a client-led, trauma-informed and Person-Centred/Humanistic framework, and a strong commitment to this approach is essential

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week.

Location: Woman’s Trust premises including co-location with statutory partners and community partnership locations.Woman’s Trust operates a hybrid working model with a minimum of 50% to be on-site.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in major gift fundraising within one of the world's most respected cultural institutions. This is a significant and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in supporting our ambition for nature’s protection and recovery across Birmingham and the Black Country. The post holder will help support the collection, collation, and digitisation of ecological data relating to species, sites and habitats across our landscape. Your work will be critical to the success of EcoRecord – the region’s Environmental Records Centre - and aid in the protection of local wildlife of great value to people, and communities in our region.

As a wildlife charity serving a heavily urbanised area, a major element of our work is to provide ecological evidence and related information, that supports the designation of wildlife sites and informs the protection of nature in the face of urban development.

You will work within EcoRecord to deliver high quality data products and services to a range of customers and users. EcoRecord is part of a network of Local Environmental Records Centres across the UK and provides information services to a wide range of users such as local authorities, statutory agencies, ecological consultants, national and local recording schemes, and others.

The post of Biodiversity Data and Evidence Officer is a central and varied role within EcoRecord, that will include making use of GIS mapping and specialised databases to analyse and digitise ecological data. The role will also include promoting high quality biological recording activities, supporting specialist recording groups, and engaging with volunteers, including through our social media channels. You will assist with key aspects of the day-to-day operation of the records centre, including the maintenance, management, and development of core data sets and analytic processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and growth of EcoRecord’s data infrastructure by supporting the collection, collation and computerisation of ecological and other relevant data (primarily species, sites and habitats data), through the competent use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and, though not exclusively, Recorder 6.
• Contribute to the improvement of data management systems and processes.
• Contribute to the delivery of projects that deliver nature’s recovery across Birmingham and the Black Country.
• Assist with the adoption and development of practices and tools that improve the efficiency of data management and data availability.
• Assist with data analysis and the production of high-quality data products and services.
• Be an advocate for and help to promote high quality biological recording in Birmingham and the Black Country.
• Assist in supporting specialist species interest groups and the wider volunteer recording networks throughout Birmingham and the Black Country and with enabling the development and formation of new interest groups.
• Assist and support surveys and local recording initiatives, including the City Nature Challenge.
• Contribute to EcoRecord’s and the Wildlife Trust’s online presence through producing content for social media and website etc. in collaboration with colleagues including the Trust’s Communication Department.

About you

Working within the communications and marketing team, you'll be confident in managing our social media accounts (we have many), ensuring we're using platforms to get our messages out to both wide and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content.

You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.

You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. Plus you'll have a great eye for detail and be confident in your ability to prioritise (and sometimes reprioritise) your workload as needed.

We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity to join our Information & Advice Service as our Carer Financial Wellbeing Coordinator. This countywide role will lead the development and delivery of financial wellbeing support for unpaid carers across West Sussex.

Carers often experience significant financial challenges because of their caring role. This post will play a key role in ensuring carers can access the information, advice and support they need to maximise their income, improve financial resilience, and make informed decisions about their finances.

The Carer Financial Wellbeing Coordinator will provide day-to-day line management and support to Welfare Benefits Advisors, oversee the quality of financial wellbeing services, and work collaboratively to develop innovative and accessible support for carers. 

The role includes providing welfare benefits and financial wellbeing advice, supporting complex cases where appropriate, delivering workshops and training, developing resources, and identifying opportunities to strengthen our support offer.

You will work closely with teams across Carers Support West Sussex to ensure carers receive joined-up support and that financial wellbeing is embedded throughout our services. You will also contribute to service development, impact monitoring and continuous improvement, helping us demonstrate the difference our services make to carers across the county.

The role is a mix of remote/home working and community-based delivery, with travel across West Sussex required to attend meetings, deliver workshops and support carers and partners in local communities.

Key Responsibilities:
•  Line Management: Provide day-to-day line management, supervision and support to the Welfare Benefits Advisors, including workload allocation, performance management and development.
•  Information & Guidance: Deliver high-quality welfare benefits and financial wellbeing advice to carers, including complex cases where appropriate, taking a holistic approach to financial wellbeing, considering benefits, grants, financial resilience and wider income maximisation.
•  Facilitate Learning: Design and deliver group sessions face-to-face in the community and online, videos, resources, workshops and information sessions for carers and deliver training and briefings for CSWS staff and volunteers to build confidence in identifying and responding to carers’ financial concerns.
•  Data Recording: Maintain accurate and timely records on CSWS Client Record Management systems to support monitoring, reporting and service improvement.
•  Demonstrate Impact: Use outcome-based tools to evidence impact, identify gaps in provision and support continuous service development.
•  Partnership Working: Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure carers receive timely, joined-up support.
•  Governance: Work within CSWS policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection, equality and diversity, and health and safety.

About You:
•  Welfare Benefits
o  A comprehensive and up to date working knowledge of the welfare benefit system and the latest welfare reform developments.
o  Proven experience of providing in-depth welfare benefits advice, including complex cases.
•  Line Management: Experience of supervising staff or strong evidence of readiness to move into a line management role.
•  Facilitation: Experience of delivering group sessions workshops or training, both face-to-face and online.
•  Time Management: Ability to manage competing priorities and balance leadership responsibilities with direct casework.
•  Problem-Solving Skills: Able to take a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles and ensuring support for individuals navigating complex systems.
•  Verbal and Written Skills: Able to negotiate, build relationships, advocate for people and write accurate, succinct records of support provided.
•  IT Skills: Highly competent IT skills, including experience of using databases or CRM systems.
•  Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

• ​Manage and steward a portfolio of corporate partners, providing both reactive and proactive support.
• Develop and implement fundraising initiatives, creating resources that drive engagement.
• Achieve personal income targets from existing and new corporate partnerships and new business activity KPIs.
• Research and cultivate new corporate prospects to grow our supporter base.
• Create impactful communications including reports, presentations, and proposals.
• Provide administrative support including income coding, inbox management, and volunteer coordination.
• Represent Samaritans at meetings and events​​

What you’ll bring:

• ​Previous experience within fundraising, account management, sales, event management or marketing.
• Experience working towards specific objectives and financial targets
• Ability to generate creative and imaginative proposals and take the initiative to develop new relationships with prospective partners.
• Great communication skills, with the ability to build relationships easily and provide expert customer care.
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience gained within a Charity fundraising or third sector role is desirable.​
