About the role

As Co-Head of Investigations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading Global Witness’s investigations function, ensuring our work is ambitious, impactful and directly connected to our organisational priorities.

Working alongside the other Co-Head of Investigations, you will set strategic priorities, oversee a diverse pipeline of investigations and ensure our investigative expertise is deployed where it can have the greatest impact.

You will provide strong editorial leadership and judgement, balancing creativity and bold thinking with rigorous standards of accuracy, ethics, legal compliance and risk management.

You will work collaboratively across Global Witness, partnering closely with Campaigns, Policy, Strategic Communications, Partnerships, Data Investigations and Fundraising to turn evidence and investigations into meaningful action and change. You will also lead and develop a talented team of investigators, creating a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, creativity and inclusion.

As a senior leader and external ambassador for Global Witness, you will help strengthen the profile and influence of our investigations and ensure our work continues to challenge powerful actors and expose the systems driving environmental destruction, inequality and human rights abuses.

You are an experienced investigations, journalism or campaign communications leader with a strong track record of delivering high-impact work in complex and fast-moving environments.

You bring excellent editorial judgement and the confidence to identify compelling opportunities, ask difficult questions and make decisions about where investigative work can have the greatest strategic impact.

You understand how to balance ambitious storytelling with accuracy, ethical standards and robust approaches to legal, security and reputational risk.

You’ll join Marie Curie’s Legal & Governance team that provides governance, company secretarial, legal and compliance support to help ensure Marie Curie and its subsidiary operate effectively and in line with their statutory and regulatory responsibilities. You’ll work closely with Trustees, Independent Committee Members, the Executive Leadership Team, auditors and colleagues across the organisation.

As Assistant Company Secretary, you’ll play a key role in making sure Marie Curie’s governance runs smoothly and effectively. You’ll be at the centre of Board and Committee activity, ensuring meetings are well organised, papers are accurate and decisions and actions are properly recorded and followed up. You’ll also support the charity in meeting its legal, regulatory and governance obligations, while providing practical advice and helping embed effective governance processes across the organisation.

This is a hands-on role in an environment where priorities and processes can evolve, so we’re looking for someone who combines strong governance knowledge with excellent organisation, sound judgement and the flexibility to adapt.

Your Impact:

• Provide high-quality secretariat support to the Trustee Board and management committees, including preparing agendas and meeting papers, taking accurate minutes and tracking actions.
• Coordinate the logistics and administration of Board, Committee and other stakeholder meetings and events.
• Work with the Company Secretariat to ensure organisational activities and decisions comply with the charity’s Articles of Association, delegated authorities and relevant legislation and regulation.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely filings, returns and other documentation to Companies House, the Charity Commission and other relevant bodies.
• Maintain statutory registers, corporate records and the annual governance calendar.
• Support the onboarding, induction and training of new Trustees and Committee members.
• Provide pragmatic governance, compliance and regulatory advice and support to colleagues across the organisation.
• Build trusted relationships with Trustees, Independent Committee Members, the Executive Leadership Team and auditors.
• Support the embedding and continuous improvement of governance processes, policies and procedures.

Key Requirements:

• Relevant professional qualification, such as the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (full or part-qualified) or Level 4 Certificate in Charity Law and Governance.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a governance role within a charity or similarly complex organisation.
• Good understanding of charity governance frameworks and the relationship between Boards and Committees.
• Experience supporting the governance of complex organisations and providing governance advice to senior stakeholders or equivalent.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate papers and documentation.
• Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Confidence building effective relationships with senior and diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt as processes, priorities and organisational needs change.
• Strong commitment to maintaining high professional standards and keeping up to date with developments in charity governance.

Other information

The role will involve regular travel across England, Scotland and Wales to raise the organisation’s profile and engage with members, partners and key stakeholders.

There is flexibility on your location given the requirement to travel and that your office will be home-based. You will need to travel to in-person quarterly team meetings (usually in London or the north of England) and to Board meetings which alternate between online and London.

It is expected that travel will be by public transport and easy access to the rail network is therefore required to ensure journeys can be made sustainably. 

This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week. We use a flexi-time system with core hours 10am-3pm, and are committed to being a flexible, supportive and understanding employer. This is a permanent position with a probationary period of three months.

You should have experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information, as well as using CRM or database systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively. You will need to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

An individual who holds compassion for the sector we work in and who can correspond in all manners in a sensitive way using non-stigmatising language and with a high degree of discretion. Whilst the whole team get together in person for residential development days 3 times per year you must be able to enjoy working from home the majority of the time. A reliable home working environment with a stable internet connection is also essential, as is residence within Stoke on Trent.

IPS Grow Support Lead

We are recruiting for an experienced IPS professional to join the IPS Grow team, supporting services across London and the South East.

This role is ideal for a current or recent Employment Specialist or Senior Employment Specialist looking to develop their IPS expertise and support services to improve quality, fidelity and employment outcomes.

About the Role

You will work alongside experienced IPS Grow colleagues to develop your skills and knowledge while providing practical, hands-on support to IPS services across London and the South East.

A key focus will be training to become an IPS fidelity reviewer, initially working as a co-reviewer alongside Regional Leads. You will also support services to overcome barriers to successful IPS delivery, improve performance and achieve strong employment outcomes.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Training to become an IPS fidelity reviewer and supporting fidelity reviews and guided self-assessments
• Producing clear and accurate fidelity reports and action plans
• Supporting services to implement and monitor fidelity and race equity action plans
• Providing in-field mentoring and modelling IPS best practice
• Coaching IPS staff in employer engagement, race equity and performance management

About the Team

IPS Grow is a national programme supporting the expansion of Individual Placement and Support services across mental health, primary care and drug and alcohol teams throughout England.

The programme is led by a not for profit organisation in partnership with a leading mental health charity and is funded by national health, employment and public health bodies.

A core element of IPS Grow is the expert support provided by a team of IPS professionals who work directly with providers to improve fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes.

As a Support Lead, you will work closely with Regional Leads, Workforce Leads and other Support Leads, developing your own IPS expertise while providing practical support to services across the region.

We are looking for an inspiring leader to deliver ambitious financial, conservation and visitor engagement strategies. You will be required to develop a diverse team of staff and volunteers, attract a growing number of visitors and members, and provide them with an unforgettable experience on each and every visit.

The role includes management of the trading areas, incorporating retail and catering; oversight of the living collection, which includes birds and otters, and the nature reserve which as a Ramsar Wetland Site is of international importance; a thriving learning programme, and a growing events and engagement programme. About You

To be a success in this role you must be an experienced and professional manager and a great leader, comfortable with both operational delivery, visible on the floor leadership and the ability to input strategically at the highest level. You should be strong on financial and business numeracy, comfortable owning the P&L and able to deliver against ambitious and motivating targets while maintaining day-to-day performance.

You will have impeccable standards for cleanliness, health & safety and the visitor experience and a track record for building team performance and morale.

It is a busy and varied role, ideally suited to someone looking to expand their current responsibilities into a broader remit: you might currently be running multiple departments within a larger organisation, or perhaps leading a smaller attraction. Role Context

Recovery in Community is a collaborative initiative delivered in partnership between Gaddum and Manchester Mind. The service supports people to leave inpatient mental health settings and return to their community with the support they need to recover and remain well.

As a team, we deliver psycho-social interventions, advocacy, housing and welfare rights advice, peer support to adults as well as tailored support to young people (those under the age of 25).All we do is underpinned by listening and ensuring people feel heard – because we know that when people are listened to, they recover. The team works with colleagues within the mental health, primary care, inpatient and community sectors.

Role Purpose

As a Peer Support Worker, you will have lived or living experience of receiving mental health care or treatment in hospital. Using your expertise gained through this experience, you will support peers in their mental health recovery who are ready to leave hospital or are already in the community. Receiving support from your colleagues, you’ll develop and manage your casework practice and hold a small case load. 

You will walk alongside people to set achievable goals to ensure they get the support that they need, ultimately feeling connected to their communities – the right services and support network.

This role will work with a small but intensive caseload (max 12 cases for a full-time peer support worker) to focus on: 

• Repatriate: when people are sent to an out of area placement (OAPs) advocate to get them back to Greater Manchester so they can recover in their community. 

• Discharge: Supporting people when they’re ready to be discharged from inpatient mental health services to get back to the community and recover. 

• Prevent re-admissions: Work with people, post-discharge, to ensure they continue to get the support they need to make informed choices, stay well and ultimately thrive.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• To provide bespoke support to people that are ready to be discharged from inpatient psychiatric care to return to the community, building (with support) packages of care so they have a positive and sustained recovery. 

• To work alongside people post-discharge, in their community setting (e.g. home or supported accommodation) to ensure they get what they need to stay well. 

• To effectively manage a small caseload (about 7 people), being flexible to people’s needs and short-term changes in schedule. 

• To work in a person-centred, trauma informed, empowering and culturally appropriate way that enables people to feel listened to and heard.

• To help people engage with services and make sustainable links with their communities. 

• To use and develop your knowledge of community care, policies, legislation and services to get people the support they need to recover and stay well. 

• Identify when cases need escalation or onward referral and keep your line manager aware of case developments. 

• Independently visit people in inpatient and community settings in Manchester and across Greater Manchester, adhering to lone working and risk management procedures. 

• Occasionally visit people out of the Greater Manchester area who need to return to their community in Manchester (all travel expenses will be paid and non-commute travel time will be part of your working day). 

• Build relationships with colleagues within services (e.g. inpatient staff, social care, CMHTs etc) to enable improved collaborative working 

• Take part in multi-disciplinary meetings, representing the views of people, and their aspirations on returning to community settings. 

• Support the ongoing service development, drawing on your role as an ‘Expert by Experience’ and using what you hear from the people you support to contribute to the development of the services by reviewing and contributing to improvements.
