About Reprieve
Reprieve is a leading international human rights organisation working to end the death penalty and abuses committed under the banner of national security. Founded in 1999, our mission remains critically relevant as governments worldwide increasingly adopt authoritarian tactics, expanding executive power at the expense of civil liberties.
You can best judge a society by how it treats prisoners, criminal defendants, and the far-flung targets of an ever-changing counter-terror policy. To us, the rule of law means little if we selectively apply it to people we agree with. It is for all of us. Liberty is always eroded at the margins.
Reprieve’s staff is made up of courageous and committed human rights defenders. We provide vital legal and investigative support to those facing execution and victims of rendition, torture, arbitrary detention, extrajudicial killing, and citizenship stripping. Our work spans multiple jurisdictions, challenging states' most egregious human rights violations through strategic litigation, investigations, and advocacy.
We support cases in courts worldwide while building the legal and political momentum necessary to consign these practices to history.
Based in London with Fellows and partners globally, Reprieve operates at the intersection of law, policy, and human rights, working alongside governments, senior legal practitioners, and civil society to advance systemic change.
We collaborate closely with our independent partner organization Reprieve US.
About the Role
The Head of Operations will oversee the day-to-day running of the global operations of Reprieve UK, Reprieve US, and our work around the globe. They will have broad responsibility for HR operations, office and facilities management, IT and systems, compliance, data protection, security risk management and operational support across Reprieve’s international operations
This role is critical to supporting a high performing group of staff, fellows, consultants, and partner organisations working together to provide the highest possible standard of service to Reprieve clients, their families and communities. The successful postholder will be committed to Reprieve’s mission of ending the use of the death penalty and extreme human rights abuses carried out in the name of “national security”, as well as to building and maintaining happy and healthy teams.
The successful postholder will support the Senior Management Team (who hold delegated responsibility) to ensure the smooth running of the organisation, including maintaining compliance with key statutory and regulatory requirements at all times. The Head of Operations will have a central role in ensuring that good practice, wellbeing, and compliance work hand in hand with one another, and is embedded within the ethos of the organisation for the benefit of our clients and Reprieve’s mission.
The Head of Operations will supervise the work of the Operations Team and will report to a member of the Senior Management Team.
Terms
This is a full-time position on a permanent contract. The annual salary is £61,003 full-time per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.
This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency and when required as part of the security risk management framework (for example to monitor extreme risk trips). Applicants must have current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.
Reprieve is proud to have an open and transparent pay structure, governed by a 3:1 pay ratio between the highest-paid member of staff and the lowest-paid member of staff. We are a flexible employer and offer a range of non-financial benefits to employees. We welcome applications from a range of backgrounds

About EJF
The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is a global non-profit organisation working to protect the natural world and our fundamental human right to a secure environment. We work at the frontlines of environmental injustice, alongside communities most affected by climate breakdown, biodiversity loss, and exploitation - transforming evidence into action, and injustice into lasting change.
Through field investigations, rigorous research, and strategic international advocacy, we expose environmental crime, challenge impunity, and catalyse systemic reform. Our work delivers real-world impact, shaping policy, strengthening governance, protecting vital ecosystems, and defending those who risk their lives to safeguard them.
Our campaigns span four interconnected areas: oceans, climate, forests and wetlands, and the training, protection, and empowerment of environmental defenders and investigative journalists. From illegal fishing and plastic pollution to deforestation, land grabs, and climate breakdown, we confront some of the most complex and urgent crises of our time - always with a focus on accountability, equity, and durable solutions.
EJF has a diverse team of campaigners, filmmakers and community mobilisers working across four continents, united by a shared ambition: to protect people by protecting the planet. We are bold, evidence-led, and impact-driven. We speak truth to power - and we build pathways to a fairer, more resilient future. Join Us.
About the role
EJF's Ocean team investigates and documents illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and the human rights abuses that so often go with it - forced labour and trafficking, physical violence, and deaths at sea. Working alongside local partners, fishing communities and crew, our investigators gather first-hand testimony, vessel and ownership data, satellite tracking analysis, supply chain data and film in ports and fishing grounds across the planet, building evidence that stands up to legal, political and media scrutiny.
This role exists to turn this evidence into action. As Senior Oceans Campaigner you will deliver the advocacy and campaign strategy for the Ocean programme: understanding the specific changes we are seeking, identifying the decision-makers who can deliver them, and designing the sequence of pressure, persuasion and partnership that moves them. You will turn investigations into campaign propositions and drive delivery from launch through to the moment a regulation is tightened, a licence revoked or a supply chain cleaned up.
You will do this across several audiences at once: governments in market, coastal and flag states, parliamentarians and regulators, international fora, and the seafood industry. Current priorities include a push for full transparency in the global fishing industry through our Global Charter for Fisheries Transparency; robust import controls and carding regimes in major seafood markets; ratification and enforcement of key labour rights conventions; an end to abusive trans-shipment at sea; beneficial ownership disclosure; and accountability for distant-water fleets operating in the waters of low-income coastal states.
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver powerful advocacy and campaign plans for EJF's ocean priorities, setting clear objectives, targets, tactics and timelines for each
Work with investigations, policy, film and communications colleagues to translate new evidence into campaign propositions, defining the ask, the audience and the timeline
Map decision-makers, influencers and opposition across target governments, institutions and companies
Identify and act on political openings, such as legislative reviews and treaty negotiations
Prepare briefings, position papers and policy asks tailored to key audiences and lead meetings with senior decision-makers
Press retailers, importers, processors and certification bodies to act on the abuses our investigations uncover, through direct engagement and public pressure as appropriate
Work with the communications team to support the launch of films, reports and investigations for maximum political impact
Act as a spokesperson with media, at public events and on panels, and represent EJF's positions accurately and persuasively
Contribute campaign content, such as briefings, op-eds, digital actions, petitions and supporter communications
Monitor, evaluate and report on campaign progress against objectives, and adapt plans in light of what is working
Essential skills and experience
Demonstrable experience designing and delivering advocacy or campaign strategies that have secured concrete changes in policy, law, regulation or corporate practice
Superb communications skills, able to deliver compelling, winning presentations in person and in writing to a diverse range of audiences. You must be able to produce, high-calibre, precise copy quickly, translating complex evidence into clear, persuasive arguments tailored to different audiences
Experience working on ocean policy, fisheries, environmental governance, human rights or a related discipline
Extensive experience presenting to diverse audiences to secure their understanding, respect and support
Ability to build effective strategies for the delivery of core messages, and creative thinking to find routes through difficult problems
Strong political judgement: the ability to read a decision-making landscape, identify who can deliver change and work out how to move them
Rigorous attention to detail and an understanding of why absolute factual accuracy is fundamental to everything EJF publishes
Ability to manage several campaigns and deadlines at once, and to work at pace when opportunities open up
A clearly demonstrable commitment to EJF's vision, mission and values and a determination to change the world for the better
Be able to work independently; within a team and be highly collegiate, supporting colleagues to achieve their best.
Desirable skills and experience
A familiarity with trends and recent developments in global fisheries governance
Experience of corporate engagement, supply chain accountability or certification schemes
Working knowledge of a second language relevant to our programme countries
We strongly encourage candidates from underrepresented backgrounds in the environmental and human rights sectors to apply. If you believe you would be a great fit but don’t meet every requirement, we would still love to hear from you.
What we offer
We offer a rewarding package designed to support your well-being, flexibility, and professional growth:
22 days’ annual leave (exclusive of bank holidays), increasing with each year of service, plus (discretionary) additional paid leave between Christmas and New Year
Private healthcare package
Generous pension scheme, with employer contributions increasing over time
Flexible working hours and hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 from home)
Cycle-to-work scheme
A dynamic, supportive, and inclusive working environment, with genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression
The chance to contribute to an organisation delivering real-world impact for people and planet
Application process
To apply, please send a CV and cover letter (no more than 2 pages each) outlining your suitability for the role.

We're grateful to everyone who applies and we read every application carefully. Because of the volume of applications and the size of our team, we're only able to contact shortlisted candidates. If you haven't heard from us by 25/09/2026, please assume you haven't been successful on this occasion.

About the Role
We are looking for an organised, practical and proactive candidate to take day-to-day operational ownership of the Migrateful Cookery School in Farringdon and coordinate the effective operation of our network of venues across London.
A key focus will be introducing a Venue Champion model, where designated facilitators undertake agreed routine checks and practical tasks at external venues. With support from the Operations Support Officer, you will establish and coordinate this approach, while retaining overall oversight of venue standards and stepping in when additional intervention is needed.
You will also coordinate the operational onboarding of new venues and support the planned refurbishment of the Cookery School.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining venue operations, coordination, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cookery School Operations
Take day-to-day operational ownership of the Migrateful Cookery School.
Ensure the space, equipment, ingredients, recipes and resources are ready for classes and ad hoc events.
Coordinate repairs, maintenance, cleaning and facilities requirements, working with building management, contractors and cleaning providers.
Maintain effective systems for stock, storage, equipment, consumables and procurement.
Identify and resolve operational issues to ensure the space works effectively for chefs, facilitators, volunteers and staff.
Coordinate the planned Cookery School refurbishment, working with contractors, suppliers and colleagues to minimise disruption and ensure the space is ready for reopening.
2. External Venue Coordination
Maintain operational oversight of Migrateful's external London venues.
Maintain venue-specific equipment, kit and operational requirements, with planned schedules for checks, maintenance and resets.
Monitor venue readiness, facilitator feedback and outstanding issues and coordinate appropriate action.
Maintain effective relationships with venue contacts and undertake periodic quality assurance visits where required.
3. Venue Champion Coordination
Venue Champions undertake agreed routine practical tasks, while the Venues Coordinator retains overall oversight of venue standards and the systems supporting them.
With support from the Operations Support Officer, recruit and train Venue Champions from Migrateful's facilitator pool and provide clear guidance for the role.
Establish equipment lists, checklists and schedules for venue checks, kit cleaning and resets.
Monitor completion of agreed tasks and coordinate follow-up, maintenance or equipment replacement where required.
4. New Venue Onboarding
Assess new venues and establish equipment, storage, logistics, food safety and operational requirements.
Coordinate procurement, setup, documentation and facilitator onboarding, resolving issues during initial classes.
Identify and train a Venue Champion and transition established venues into the ongoing venue-management system.
5. Health, Safety & Quality
Maintain appropriate Health & Safety, food safety and allergen systems, documentation and checks.
Ensure facilitators and Venue Champions understand the procedures relevant to their roles.
Coordinate equipment safety and compliance requirements and identify, track and escalate risks appropriately.
6. Systems, Procurement & Continuous Improvement
Manage relevant supplier relationships and monitor expenditure within agreed budgets.
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise or digitise processes and reduce unnecessary manual work.
Maintain clear records so operational information is accessible, consistent and shared across the team.
Scope and Boundaries
The Venues Coordinator is responsible for the systems, standards and coordination that support effective venue management. They are not expected to personally undertake every routine task at every external venue.
Venue Champions provide local practical support and routine monitoring, with the Venues Coordinator responding to escalated issues and undertaking periodic quality assurance checks.
Reasonable changes may be made to the responsibilities of the role as Migrateful develops, following consultation with the postholder.
Working Hours & Out-of-Hours Support
Migrateful delivers cookery classes during evenings and weekends, so some operational issues may arise outside normal office hours.
The postholder will participate in a shared Operations Team out-of-hours rota. When rostered, they will provide first-line support for urgent operational issues affecting class delivery, escalating where appropriate.
The rota will be scheduled in advance. Expectations around availability, response times, escalation and working time/TOIL will be set out in Migrateful's Out-of-Hours Support procedure.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in kitchen, hospitality, venue, facilities or operational coordination, with a good understanding of Food Safety, Health & Safety and allergen management.
Is highly organised and able to coordinate multiple venues, priorities and people while ensuring spaces are safe, well equipped and ready for classes.
Takes a practical, proactive and solution-focused approach, with high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
Communicates confidently and builds effective relationships with a diverse range of people, including facilitators, suppliers and venue partners.
Can develop and maintain clear operational systems, identify issues early and make practical improvements to how things are managed.
Is comfortable working independently, using initiative and coordinating others, including Venue Champions.
Is flexible about travelling between London venues, undertaking hands-on practical tasks and participating in the shared out-of-hours rota.
Ideally has experience in a charity, social enterprise or community food setting, or working with volunteers and freelancers.

(FIXED-TERM MATERNITY COVER UP TO 12 MONTHS)
Background:
Kaleidoscope Trust (KT) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to advancing the rights of LGBTI+ people internationally. Founded in 2011, we aim to create a world where all LGBTI+ individuals are free, safe and equal. To ensure LGBTI+ rights remain a priority on global agendas, we take a three-fold approach:
We strengthen capacities and build networks and movements, by supporting a diverse range of international LGBTI+ partners and networks to access the skills, training, and financial resources they need to be able to shift hearts and minds and create enabling environments for policy and legal change.
We advocate for inclusive policy change, by generating data-driven evidence that amplifies our partners’ lived experiences and priorities and by ensuring political leaders and government officials have access to the accurate, timely and relevant information needed to effectively challenge anti-LGBTI+ narratives and strategies and drive positive change.
We enhance collaboration and coordination among stakeholders, by building networks and connecting grassroots organisations with political actors in strategic spaces to drive meaningful and lasting change for LGBTI+ communities across the Commonwealth and around the world.
Kaleidoscope Trust is proud to be a founding member of The Commonwealth Equality Network and to host its Secretariat. Our partnerships with LGBTI+ communities across the Commonwealth have informed our approach to inclusion and equality, in the workplace and beyond.

Ensuring and coordinating full compliance with donor requirements, including narrative and financial reporting, safeguarding, due diligence, monitoring, and financial accountability, and supporting other teams to meet the same.
Managing partner relationships and supporting organisations through long-term accompaniment, capacity strengthening, and strategic movement support.
Efficient stakeholder management, maintaining close communication and coordination with the donor, partners, consultants and service providers, and/or any other external stakeholder related to the grant.

Essential
Experience managing grant-funded programmes in the Global South and East, including delivery, compliance, safeguarding, and reporting.
Strong understanding of donor requirements and accountability, including financial oversight and risk management.

Location note:please see location information below - we actively encourage applications from people across Europe, and a relocation package is available for candidates moving to either country if necessary.
Lead the strategy and team behind Europe’s push for protein diversification.
The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is a nonprofit think tank at the forefront of the movement to transform meat production in order to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger to antibiotic resistance and animal suffering. Our vision is a thriving world, fed sustainably.
With a nonprofit entity in Belgium, a branch in the UK and colleagues working from seven other countries that make up GFI Europe, we are also part of an international network of affiliates. We advance the science, policies and investment needed to make plant-based, cultivated and fermentation-made meat delicious, affordable and accessible across Europe. Please check out the rest of our website, our 2025 Year in Review and our 2025 Europe highlights blog post to find out more about who we are and what we do.
We are looking for an Executive Director to lead GFI Europe’s strategy and team, play a key role in shaping and advancing GFI’s global strategy, and foster the relationships and organisational strength needed to accelerate the shift towards a resilient and sustainable food system.
How you will make a difference
You will have high responsibility and high impact. Reporting to, and appointed by, the Board of GFI Europe, you will lead a ~50-person team working from nine European countries.
You will:
Enable strategic focus:
Align the team around a clear and compelling organisational direction that aligns with the GFI network’s mission and theory of change.
Translate organisational direction into high-level priorities in collaboration with GFI Europe’s Leadership Team.
Ensure Europe’s strategic decisions are made well – soliciting the right input from the right people, preserving autonomy in areas of specific expertise, and making decisions when organisation-wide trade-offs are required.
Take ultimate responsibility for maximising outcomes and impact in pursuit of our mission.
Provide leadership to the team:
Empower, develop and inspire a high-performing, people-centric team.
Lead GFI Europe’s Leadership Team, formed of six department heads, ensuring they continue to function on a ‘first-team’ basis to achieve organisational objectives.
Champion and uphold a values-driven culture built upon transparency, autonomy, collaboration, accountability, and psychological safety. Champion the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion into the team’s day-to-day work.
Represent GFI Europe in GFI’s international network:
Participate in international strategic and coordination workstreams as a member of GFI’s Regional Leadership Group, comprising GFI’s affiliate leads.
Act as the primary liaison between GFI’s affiliates and European teams on strategies, processes and goals. Ensure the Europe team can successfully connect with, influence, support and navigate a complex international network, including global workstreams such as fundraising and impact reporting.
Participate in discussions about global strategy and resource allocation so as to maximise GFI’s overall mission impact, including communicating GFI Europe’s strategy, resourcing needs and contributions as part of the international GFI network.
Represent GFI Europe in front of donors and external stakeholders:
Work closely with global and Europe-based fundraising teams to help ensure GFI achieves its fundraising goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, prospective supporters and key stakeholders.
Serve as a public representative of, and spokesperson for, the organisation by speaking at conferences, events, and with the media.
Oversee organisational health:
Ensure strong governance, legal compliance, financial sustainability and reporting in partnership with the Board and the Head of Operations.
Be the main legal representative of the organisation, reviewing and signing all legally relevant agreements and organisational documents.
Perform other duties as appropriate.
Core capabilities needed to succeed in this role:
Mission alignment. A passion for GFI’s philosophy and mission.
Strategic judgement. Strong analytical skills and sound judgement, being able to absorb and process a range of types of information, understand the activities that GFI undertakes, and provide leadership and guidance to team members. You have the experience and ability to make strategic trade-offs across projects, functions, teams, countries/regions, programmes, etc – weighing resource allocation, prioritising impact, and communicating those decisions clearly and inclusively to stakeholders.
Thoughtful leadership. You align teams behind a clear and impactful vision. You know when to persevere and when to change course, and have led people, both directly and indirectly, to deliver impact. You trust the people closest to the work to make decisions, and you address hard topics when they truly matter. You own mistakes and make a genuine effort to learn and grow from them. You are intentional about remote leadership.
Understanding the wider context. You can make sense of the political, economic and cultural forces shaping Europe’s food system today and are adept at drawing on patterns and ideas from outside our field to identify possible implications for GFI Europe’s next move.
Excellent people skills. High emotional intelligence and an ability to diplomatically engage across perspectives, being able to build and maintain trust with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple cultures, viewpoints and needs within Europe and beyond.
Financial literacy. Skilled at overseeing substantial financial resources, including partnering with the operations team on resource allocation. You have held accountability for a significant organisational budget and can interpret financial data to make sound, well-informed decisions.
Fundraising acumen. You understand how GFI’s strategy, culture, and mission impact shape the organisation’s ability to raise funds and steward donors, and you’re enthusiastic about partnering with the fundraising team to make this happen. You bring an understanding of the philanthropic sector and donor relationships, or of fundraising in other sectors (eg, the private sector or government), while deferring to the fundraising team’s expertise on how donor relationships are best managed.
Strong communication skills. An ability to convincingly articulate and explain our mission and work and to represent the organisation in the media, with programmatic stakeholders, and with donors. Comfort adapting your tone and message for different audiences across diverse cultures, and excellent verbal and written English skills.
Flexible approach to work. We estimate that travel will account for approximately six weeks of the year. This will likely consist of two GFI Europe team-wide retreats (3-5 days each), one leadership retreat (2-3 days), other sporadic trips generally lasting 1-3 days, and occasional longer trips of approximately 5-7 days (for conferences and donor or partner meetings across Europe and internationally). In addition, you will need occasional flexibility in your working hours to accommodate coordination with other affiliates around the world.
Integrity. You do what you say you’ll do, and are discreet when handling confidential information.
It would be an advantage to have the following, though none are prerequisites:
Sector familiarity. Familiarity with or experience working in the food system, alternative proteins or an adjacent sector in Europe.
Impact leadership. Strong knowledge and/or experience of being part of the leadership team of a nonprofit, think tank or other social impact-focused organisation.
Governance and compliance experience. Experience with legal representation and board reporting, and/or experience working on nonprofit compliance, especially in Belgium.
Fundraising partnership experience. You’ve contributed to fundraising in a supportive capacity – whether managing a fundraising function, advising on donor and prospect strategy, joining donor conversations alongside a development team, or shaping fundraising strategy at an executive level.
Network experience. Experience working in one or more network models (eg, affiliate or franchise-style, federation, confederation, etc).
Languages. The ability to work in European languages in addition to English.
The Fine Print:
Terms of employment: Full-time (flexible hours), permanent.

About us
We are a long-established UK research institution with charitable status and accounting operations in both the UK and East Africa. With an annual turnover of over £1 million, our finances span two entities and a range of restricted and unrestricted funds, consolidated for reporting. We are looking for a qualified accountant to join us as a contractor in a part-time, ongoing capacity to strengthen the running of our finance function.
The role
Our accountant in the East Africa office handles the day-to-day transactions — raising invoices, recording expenses and paying supplier bills. You will work alongside them, providing the qualified oversight, payment control and monthly discipline that keep the finance function running well, and supporting their development along the way.
It is a varied role that combines hands-on accuracy with oversight and coaching. In practice, you will:
• Support, guide and coach our accountant so that accounting entries are made correctly and consistently, building their skills over time.
• Run payment preparation and approval process in the UK entity, approving payment runs for release by local signatories.
• Financial management of project funds: accounting, expense management, funds transfers and accurate financial reporting.
• Review monthly results and report, examining the Statement of Financial Activities and underlying entries, and tracking performance against budget.
• Own the budgeting process, maintaining and updating the existing annual budget and monitoring it each month, and reporting quarterly to funders.
• Run a reliable monthly close and provide cover for our accountant during leave or absence to keep the accounting running.
• Lead on risk, taking an active interest in risk assessment, management and internal financial controls, working with compliance officer for local regulatory compliance.
• Attend and co-ordinate the finance and development meeting, support Companies House and Charity Commissions returns and updates.
• Administrative support for grant applications and management of these.
Key requirements
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA), or a finalist with strong relevant experience.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Proficient in Xero, and either proficient in Joiin or a similar consolidation system such as Hyperion and able to learn it quickly. Familiarity with payment platforms (desirable).
• Sound understanding of payment controls, dual authorisation and segregation of duties.
• Experience of maintaining a budget and reviewing monthly performance against it.
• Detail-focused and hands-on, with the judgement to review, oversee and coach a colleague.
• Charity or non-profit experience is useful but not essential, including experience of managing project funds, expenses and reporting to funders.
What does success look like
In this role, success means:
• Accounting is accurate and correctly recorded across both entities.
• Monthly review and reporting is completed reliably and on time.
• The budget process is mastered and embedded in monthly reporting, with performance tracked against budget categories.
• Dual authorisation of key processes is operating successfully.
• Key processes in both entities are learnt, so you can cover for the East Africa accountant in the event of absence.
• The payment process is smooth, reviewed, and presented to the Director for second approval.
• Risk assessment is formalised and internal financial controls are maintained.
Who it suits
This role would suit an accountant who wants to broaden their range of experience, or an experienced accountant from the commercial or non-profit sector who now wishes to work part-time and contribute to the smooth running of a respected institution.
Our systems
We use Xero for our accounting and Joiin for consolidated reporting. Both are already implemented and stable. Proficiency in Joiin is ideal; otherwise, experience of a similar system and a readiness to learn this software quickly is an advantage.
How to apply
Please send your CV with a short covering note explaining your interest and how your experience fits the key requirements above. We will review applications on a rolling basis and may close early if we find the right candidate.
