This is a fantastic role for an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about developing supporter-led fundraising, delivering exceptional events and building meaningful relationships that help families stay together when they need it most.
Our charity

You will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, equally comfortable inspiring volunteers, supporting families who want to fundraise, representing the charity at events, or working with colleagues to develop new campaigns and initiatives.
You will have experience of leading and developing people, managing projects and budgets, and balancing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Ultimately, this is a great role for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building relationships and developing innovative fundraising activities that make a real difference to families with seriously ill children.

About the Role
This Project Officer role is part of Bright Futures, our mentoring and employability support programme for young Gypsy and Traveller people aged 15-25. You will keep the programme organised, connected and running smoothly - managing records and systems, building partnerships, and coordinating workshops and activities so that young people can find their way in and get the most out of the support on offer.
Many of the young people we work with have faced exclusion or discrimination within mainstream education, employment and other services, and are often not in education, employment or training (NEET). The processes, systems and communications you manage all need to be accessible and responsive to young people who may be wary of formal support.
You will coordinate outreach and community engagement to bring young people into the programme, build and maintain relationships with colleges, training providers, employers and community organisations, and manage day-to-day communications with young people, families and partners. You will set up and coordinate a Youth Advisory Group, giving young people a structured way to help shape the programme. You may also be asked to cover for mentee support when a mentor is unavailable or at capacity.
This role is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
About You
This role is for someone who enjoys keeping things organised and connected, and who wants that work to make a real, practical difference in young people's lives – someone committed to supporting young people from marginalised and underserved communities to fairly access relevant opportunities.
You will be highly organised, with strong admin skills and confidence using digital tools and databases. You will also be a confident communicator, equally comfortable writing a promotional post, following up with a training provider, or having a conversation with a young person or their family.
The role is ideal for someone with experience of outreach, building partnerships or community engagement, who can build trusting relationships with a wide range of people – from young people and families to colleges, employers and community organisations. You should be open to providing support to young people when needed.
We don't expect you to already have all the answers what matters most is your admin and organisational ability, your commitment to the communities we work with, and your confidence building relationships across a wide range of people and settings. We will support your development through supervision, training and a small, collaborative team environment.
We know not everyone will meet every requirement in the job description below, but if you feel you have what it takes, please apply and tell us how your experience and skills make you suitable.
If you are not sure what the work looks like or you want to ask questions before applying, we are happy to chat with you about the role. Please contact Mini Ravi (Programme Lead) by calling on our office phone.

Context
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a pioneering programme that could reshape how kinship families are supported across England.
Kinship is undertaking a pilot Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of Kinship Connected, a Kinship Navigator programme designed to provide intensive, specialist support to kinship carers and help them navigate complex systems.
This is a multi-partner programme involving funders, independent evaluators, participating local authorities, internal delivery teams and kinship carers with lived experience.
Kinship Navigators are at the heart of delivery. You will work directly with kinship carers in the community and in their homes, providing intensive 1-to-1 support and facilitating local support groups, while working closely with local authority partners and other services.
Because the programme forms part of a pilot RCT, maintaining high-quality case records and accurate data collection is critical. Your work will contribute directly to the evidence base about what works for kinship families.
Each Navigator will support around 40 kinship carers over the delivery year, holding a caseload of approximately 20 families at any one time.
You will be part of a wider delivery team including the Programmes Manager, Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager, research colleagues and other Kinship teams, working together to ensure the programme is delivered ethically, consistently and to a high standard
About the role:
The Kinship Navigator provides intensive, time-limited support to kinship carers through the Kinship Connected programme, a structured six-month intervention designed to help kinship families stabilise placements and access the support they need.
Working directly with kinship carers, you will build trusting relationships while completing structured assessments, goal setting and reviews to help families strengthen support networks and navigate services such as children’s social care, education, health and community support.
This is a community-facing role, working directly with kinship carers in homes, community spaces and through co-location with local authority teams and partner organisations.
The role requires a combination of high-quality relational practice and disciplined case recording. As part of the pilot RCT, accurate documentation of activity, progress and outcomes is essential to ensure the programme can be evaluated and improved.
You will work closely with the Programmes Manager, delivery team, researchers and local authority partners to ensure the programme is delivered consistently, ethically and to a high standard, with a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in supporting kinship families from all backgrounds.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to- face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time. We are happy to discuss how this sits in your life. This can be agreed by your line manager.
In addition, because this role involves engaging with and recruiting to a large network of VCSE organisations, the post holder will be required to regularly attend in-person events across England. These are likely to take place around once a month and may sometimes require overnight stays. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for events across England will be paid, however, travel to our London office will be at the expense of the postholder.
Please note that our offices are fully wheelchair accessible and that we are committed to making our workplace fully inclusive.
Application guidance
Please submit a CV and answer the questions in the application form to apply.
Applications should be addressed to our Director of Evidence and Improvement, Sarah Sweeney, and submitted through CharityJob.
Please specify any access or other requirements of which we need to be aware for the online interview.
The deadline for applications is noon on 2nd October 2026.
The interviews will take place on Friday 9th October on Microsoft Teams. Details of an interview task and interview questions will be emailed to you in advance.
We are committed to diversifying our team in order to broaden the insight and experiences we can draw on, and to do our work more credibly. In particular, we would welcome applications from older people, disabled people and people who have experienced socioeconomic inequality. Our offices are fully accessible and we are a Disability Confident and an LGBT+ friendly employer.

Our commitment to diversity and Guaranteed Interview Scheme
Diversity is one of our core values as an organisation and we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment where diversity is valued and there is equality of opportunity. We also recognise that the climate and ecological crisis disproportionately impacts minority and/or marginalised communities – yet these voices are largely underrepresented in the sector. Currently, the environmental sector is the second least diverse in the UK, with just 4.8% of employees from ethnic minority backgrounds. If the environmental movement is to succeed in creating a greener future that supports society as a whole, we need diverse voices at the heart of our programmes. We therefore encourage people from demographics that are currently underrepresented in the environmental movement to apply.
We particularly encourage applications from people from ethnic minority backgrounds or living with a disability or long-term health conditions. We will offer an interview to any candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds or living with a disability who opt into our Guaranteed Interview Scheme when applying and who meet the essential criteria for this role.
If you would like further information, support with access requirements, such as an adjustment to the application or interview process, or an informal chat, please get in touch.

Combining leadership, operational oversight and practical support, you'll help ensure programmes deliver high-quality experiences and meaningful impact.

However, you'll also be comfortable stepping in with practical operational support when required, helping the team navigate challenges, manage risk, maintain momentum and ensure successful delivery.
Working closely with colleagues across Young Enterprise, you'll use insight and evidence to drive improvement, support the ongoing development of our programmes, and help ensure they continue to deliver strong outcomes for young people. This is an opportunity to develop talented people, lead at scale, solve complex challenges and make a tangible difference to the lives of young people across the country.
You’d love this role if you:
- Enjoy leading and developing people, helping others perform at their best.
- Are equally comfortable leading strategically and stepping into operational detail when needed to support successful delivery.
- Like turning data, insight and feedback into practical improvements.
- Have experience overseeing complex programmes and know how to balance support, challenge and accountability.
- Can prioritise effectively and focus on the activities that will have the greatest impact.
- Build strong relationships quickly and enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Are energised by improving services and finding better ways of doing things.
- Want to use your skills and experience to make a tangible difference to young people's lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Programme Managers, helping them deliver their best work and grow their impact.
- Provide oversight and support across a portfolio of national education programmes, ensuring high-quality experiences for educators and young people across the UK.
- Use performance data, insight and evidence to drive decisions, improve outcomes and maximise impact.
- Provide expert support and leadership when it matters most, helping teams navigate challenges, manage risk and maintain momentum.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships across education, funding and delivery networks to support programme success.
- Help shape the future of Young Enterprise's programmes and services, influencing how we support educators and equip young people with the skills they need to succeed.
A few practical things:
- This is a hybrid role based in London, with a minimum of 8 office days per month
- You’ll have the opportunity to visit some of the participating schools and colleges across the UK
