Founded in 1860, Providence Row is a specialist homelessness charity working in East London and the City, deliberately operating at the most acute end of the homelessness spectrum.
The charity reaches around 1,200 individuals (annually) with the most deep-rooted needs; people whose interlinking mental and physical health, and trauma and substance use challenges mean they often struggle to access mainstream support. Providence Row provides a wide range of Crisis and Progression services including showers, meals, advice & support, health and wellbeing services, drug and alcohol harm reduction, psychotherapy, a hospital discharge service, and learning, training and work-readiness programmes, amongst others. In 2025/26, we supported 1,270 people through 36,313 tailored interventions.

About the role
As the Senior Programme Development Specialist, you will manage a pipeline of institutional funding opportunities and be responsible for securing a significant proportion of CIUK’s restricted income. About you
You are a passionate and experienced funding specialist, with a proven track record in fundraising from key UK donors – including solid experience of commercial bidding and FCDO frameworks, trusts and foundations and corporate donors. You will have the ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams during proposal preparation, working with partners and colleagues in multiple locations. As the Community and Events Fundraising Officer, you will play a key part in ending youth homelessness in Scotland by inspiring people to support Rock Trust.
You will deliver exceptional supporter care and create meaningful experiences for everyone fundraising for us. As Operations and Systems Manager, you will ensure SMK’s operations are well managed and that the team have the technology, systems and policies needed to run smoothly. You will take the initiative and hold responsibility for managing projects to improve systems and working practices and provide the administrative and training support needed to enable staff to implement these.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will work across the SMK staff team of six, the board members, suppliers and occasionally our training associates maintaining great working relationships and clear lines of communication.

Essential
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the charity sector.
• Extremely organised, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail demonstrated by excellent record keeping and information management skills.
• Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively, maintain flexibility and take the initiative when required.
• Good financial literacy, with a working knowledge of budgets and finance systems.
• Experience of supporting charity Boards and working with trustees, preparing papers, accurate minute taking, overseeing action logs and responding to enquiries. And a working knowledge of charity governance requirements and reporting.
• Experience of leading recruitment processes including creating job packs, promotion, shortlisting and communications to applicants throughout the cycle.
• Experience of drafting, reviewing and implementing organisational HR policy and procedures (HR expertise is provided by an external provider) and working with HR systems (we use Breathe HR)
• Basic training in risk management with experience of writing and implementing risk assessments.
• Good understanding of organisational health and safety requirements, including safeguarding and the knowledge and confidence of how to seek further advice and information when required.
• Experience of negotiating with and supervising third-party suppliers and contracts.
• Excellent IT skills with ability to use Microsoft Office to a high level and support others to do so.
• Experience of general administrative support including logistics, travel and events.
• Experience in CRM database management, preferably Salesforce, and a proven ability to handle and analyse data, and produce reports.

About You and the Role
The Society’s Front of House staff are part of the Commercial and Fundraising Team, which has responsibility for the day to day running of the premises, and facilitation of all internal and external event bookings and use of the Society rooms.
The Front of House Receptionist is the vital first point of contact for callers, visitors, members, staff, and tenants, as well as undertaking administrative duties in support of the team operation of the premises and the efficient use of its rooms.
The Front of House Receptionists work as a flexible team. They complement each other and support the wider team in both event management and operation. Close attention to the weekly programme of activities is critical, together with awareness of unpublicised activities and of future events.
Salary and Benefits:
