A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager with a Japanese cultural institution, on a full-time (35 hours per week), FTC (to March 2029) basis. As Financial Planning and Analysis Manager you will be responsible for leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and business partnering activities across all legal entities.

Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with a minimum of 1 day per week required in their central London office.

As Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will:
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all entities and departments, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and priorities

- Lead the production of management accounts, performance reports and financial dashboards for senior management, Board and Committees

- Act as a trusted finance partner to budget holders and operational managers

- Lead payroll, establishment and workforce analysis in partnership with HR and the Financial Controller

- Support evaluation of commercial performance across retail, hospitality, venue hire and other income-generating activities

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance, in a similar role, ideally within a cultural, arts, public sector or not-for-profit environment

The Purpose of the Role

The Programme Finance Manager leads financial management for the IRC UK RAI programme, acting as the programme team’s day-to-day finance partner — embedding financial thinking into programme decisions rather than just reporting on them after the fact. The postholder drives high-quality financial processes across the full programme cycle — from contract reviews and budget proposals through to financial planning, reforecasting, reporting, performance monitoring, risk management and compliance.

The postholder line manages the Programme Finance Officer and is responsible for building the capacity of the wider programme team on finance processes. They bring curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring how AI tools can improve the quality, efficiency and accessibility of financial management in day-to-day work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy, Planning and Finance Business Partnering (30%)

• Contribute to the IRC UK RAI annual planning cycle, working alongside the Director of Programmes UK to develop financially sound programme strategies and multi-year budget frameworks.

• Provide strategic financial insight and analysis to inform programme decisions, including scenario modelling, cost-benefit analysis and funding gap assessments.

• Act as a trusted finance partner to programme leads, translating financial data into clear, actionable insight and embedding finance into programme design, delivery and decision-making from the outset.

• Develop multi-year financial models and funding scenarios to support the sustainability, growth and diversification of the RAI UK portfolio.

• Partner with programme leads to shape new business and funding strategies, advising on financial viability, pricing and resource allocation.

Budget Monitoring and Planning (25%)

• Lead on the preparation of project budgets to support timely, accurate and complete proposals to donors, ensuring compliance with all donor guidelines.

• Coordinate with IRC’s global headquarters on updating and maintaining the operating budget and reforecasts.

• Prepare budget guidelines and scenario plans to assist programme managers in formulating budgets and spending plans.

• Provide programme and senior management staff with monthly Budget vs Actual reports for all grants, contracts and unrestricted funds; identify risks and mitigation measures.

• Prepare monthly management accounts and present at senior management review meetings.

Grants and Contracts (20%)

• Lead on Grant Opening, Review and Closure Meetings to ensure sound financial management throughout the grant cycle.

• Review funding opportunities to assess financial risk and viability; advise programme leadership on whether to pursue or decline opportunities.

• Support programme design to ensure financial viability and adherence to contract terms.

• Analyse reporting terms, provide timely advice and ensure conditions are met throughout the grant or contract period.

• Attend external stakeholder meetings and lead financial presentations.

• Provide capacity-building support to implementing partners on financial management and compliance.

• Review partner budgets, due diligence and pricing; provide recommendations and advise on potential risks, KPIs and payment terms.

• Assess reporting requirements, carry out financial reviews and approvals, and ensure appropriate and timely payments to partners.

Accounting, Risk, Audit and Internal Controls (10%)

• Maintain and enforce internal financial controls across the RAI UK programme, always ensuring adherence to IRC UK policies and donor regulations.

• Identify and implement improvements to financial controls and risk management processes on an ongoing basis.

• Prepare and maintain a programme-level financial risk register; identify, escalate and actively manage financial risks in close collaboration with programme and senior management teams.

• Lead on audit readiness, ensuring that all financial documentation is complete, accurate and appropriately filed in advance of internal and external audits.

• Act as the primary finance contact for any donor or statutory audits, coordinating responses and providing supporting documentation as required.

• Maintain the integrity of IRC accounts through timely reviews, correction journals and reconciliations, with appropriate supporting documentation.

• Prepare monthly salary allocation splits in line with timesheets and approved budgets.

• Prepare invoices, post into the accounting system and manage aged debt and receivables.

• Support smooth monthly financial closings in close collaboration with the UK Finance team.

Line Management (10%)

• Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and development support to the Programme Finance Officer.

• Set clear objectives, conduct regular one-to-ones and carry out annual performance reviews for direct report.

• Support the professional development of the Programme Finance Officer, identifying training opportunities and building their technical skills.

• Manage workload distribution within the team to ensure deadlines are met and quality is maintained.

Capacity Building and General (5%)

• Create and lead finance training for non-finance colleagues on required processes, including step-by-step guidance notes.

• Ensure completeness of grant financial documentation in the centralised filing system.

• Proactively seek out and implement process improvements.

• Complete all other tasks as required by the Financial Controller, Director of Programmes UK and Regional Finance Deputy Director.

Scope and Authority

Authority:

Operates with a high degree of autonomy, reporting to the Director of Programmes UK. Authorised to review, verify and approve programme-related financial documents and payment requests; to represent the finance unit at internal and external stakeholder meetings; and to manage the Programme Finance Officer.

Responsibility for Resources:

Oversees programme financial transactions, budget monitoring, donor reporting and partner financial management; is accountable for the accuracy and integrity of project budgets within their portfolio, though not a budget holder. Maintains accurate financial records in line with data protection requirements, and directly line manages the Programme Finance Officer, with broader responsibility for building financial capability across programme staff and implementing partners.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

• Qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent).

• A strong understanding of charity finance including detailed knowledge of financial management and reporting, desirably including experience with contract pricing and local authority funding.

• Confident using Excel for budgeting, financial modelling and data analysis (e.g. pivot tables, lookup functions, multi-tab workbooks).

• Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-finance audiences.

• Organised and detail-oriented, with a data-driven approach to your work.

Finance and Operations Officer – Forward Thinking

Forward Thinking is a small, dynamic charity where every member of staff makes a significant contribution. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a varied role, works proactively in a small team and takes pride in supporting the smooth running of the organisation which works  in frontline mediation in conflict zones. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Finance and Operations Officer plays a central role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of Forward Thinking. This is a varied role comprising approximately two days per week of office administration and operations and one day per week of bookkeeping and finance administration.

The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to coordinating staff diaries, organising meetings, supporting governance and compliance, maintaining office systems and policies, and managing the charity’s day-to-day financial administration.

You will report directly to the Director of Forward Thinking and will be in regular contact with him to keep him informed of key developments.

Essential Requirements

The role requires an individual with experience in office administration and bookkeeping, ideally within the charity or voluntary sector.

You will demonstrate the ability to organise meetings at short notice, coordinate diaries, prepare accurate minutes and maintain effective office systems. You will also be responsible for monitoring funding and reporting deadlines, ensuring compliance with the charity’s governing documents, and maintaining key organisational policies including safeguarding, health and safety, insurance and GDPR.

Experience using accounting software (preferably Sage Business Cloud) and strong Excel skills are essential.

3-5 years experience

The Senior Creditor Controller (Income) will play a key part in the Business's income processing activity.

FP&A Consultant  (AI & Automation)

We are seeking an excellent qualified accountant to join our Financial Planning and Reporting team, as a Finance Business Partner, supporting colleagues in the UK Countries Directorate more specifically for England (though you do not need to live in England). This is a key role working directly with our conservation delivery and our reserves network areas, all with individual characteristics and skills requirements.

What's the role about?

As a Finance Business Partner you will work proactively with senior colleagues to provide an added-value service of financial support to our UK Countries Directorate. In addition to a strong management accounting background, you will understand the difference that can be made through strong business partnering relationships and be confident in building those relationships. You will gain the respect and confidence of the colleagues you support through strong communication skills (written and oral) and your ability to constructively challenge ideas and plans. You will add value through gaining an intimate understanding of the Directorate that you partner, together with contributing to business performance and the requirements of the finance function with the charity's need.

You will be a fully qualified accountant with up-to-date technical knowledge and a desire to progress in your profession. We will want the successful candidate to influence change and use their skill set to further drive the organisation's objectives forward. You will also be comfortable working under pressure, to tight deadlines, and interacting with people at all levels within the RSPB.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, or equivalent professional body)
• Sound knowledge of technical accounting legislation
• Ability to act as a critical friend to senior management balancing challenge and support. Develop effective working relationships that influence and challenge senior management teams, so that the role of the Finance Business Partner is an integral and valued part of the organisation
• Ability to influence decision makers through sound logic, diplomacy and assertiveness, with the ability to convey appropriate financial messages to various audiences
• Ability to evaluate incomplete and complex financial information, to develop and consider a range of possible options and make a judgement as to the recommended course of action
• Excellent communication (written and oral), coaching, mentoring, presentation and training skills
• Ability to ascertain financial trends and calculate the impact of them on the organisation under various scenarios
• Working in cross-functional teams to provide transformational advice on new initiatives, investment appraisals/organisational restructures/matters of risk and control design effective mitigation strategies, in order to support effective decision making
• Build capability and knowledge in managers so that they can effectively manage their budgets through effective financial information, support and advice
• Working with all finance teams, to implement new Finance initiatives, ensuring the highest level of customer service and procedures are continuously reviewed so that the service is business focused in the delivery of objectives with an expert knowledge of your client area

We're looking for a qualified finance professional who can bring strong business partnering skills and transferable experience to the role. Experience of financial forecasting, organisational change, coaching non-financial colleagues, annual accounts preparation or working within the charity sector would be beneficial. Additional Information

• This is a Full-Time Perm role for 37.5 hours per week.
• The role is a hybrid position that will require travel in the UK including to the UKHQ Finance Department in Sandy Bedfordshire, and to attend meetings in the support of your team, department and directorate.

The Inland Waterways Association (IWA) is the only independent, national charity supporting and regenerating Britain’s rivers and canals for leisure, living and business. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to co-ordinate the day-to-day operation of the charity. Reporting to the chair of the Trustees and with a small team of permanent staff focused on three areas – Campaigning, Restoration and Support, your prime responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running of the charity. 

As an experienced manager you will have experience of all areas of business management: marketing, finance, human resources as well as the myriad issues common to all small charities and businesses. Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. 

We are recruiting for a new Service Manager role to support Upskill, Employment Hub and Kingston Supported Employment services. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week; we will consider applications for 28 hours/4 days.

About the Role

We are looking for a Chief Operations Officer to lead the operations team, join the management team and support the CEO. Your priorities will be to oversee all fundraising, including campaigns, major donors and grant applications. You will oversee the HR of the organisation, including recruitment and disciplinaries. In partnership with the CEO and finance officer you will be jointly responsible for finance within the organisation. You will manage the facilities manager and administrator, ensuring that processes are followed appropriately and the building is maintained in good condition, ensuring we fulfil all legal requirements.

About You

You will be a senior manager who has energy and drive as well as sound judgement. On top of a strong track record in an operational position, you will have the breadth of experience to lead HR and systems, finance, monitoring and evaluation and fundraising. You will have experience in fundraising and funder management and be able to lead on making funding applications and reporting to funders. You will be a clear, analytical thinker who will strengthen the leadership of our charity. You will be an excellent manager of people. What will you do

You will work closely the Director of Finance & Administration to provide high quality financial management for Headway and to ensure adherence to legislative requirements, statutory deadlines and high professional standards

You will do this by:

• ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded on Exchequer in a timely manner.
• ensuring that all control account reconciliations are completed every month and that any necessary adjustments are made in Exchequer
• completing the month-end close and prepare the first draft of the monthly management accounts for departments and the consolidated group accounts for presentation to and review by the Director of Finance & Administration
• providing accurate and timely financial information to assist in management decision making

About you
