A Rocha UK is a unique Christian nature conservation charity, mobilising Christians and churches to care for the natural world. We are a member of the Worldwide A Rocha Family, a federation of Christian conservation charities, and we have sister organisations in 23 other countries. A Rocha UK has a staff of 25 and many volunteers. We run nature conservation activities on our own reserves, advise a national network of conservation partners, inspire Christians to protect nature and act on climate change through our Wild Christian scheme, and run the popular Eco Church scheme for local churches. A Rocha UK is engaged with a large Christian constituency (Nearly 23,000 individuals on its e-mail lists, over 9000 churches registered for Eco Church across 25 denominations, over 60 Partners in Action, ranging from Christian conference centres through to community farms, and over 8000 individuals in Wild Christian - for individuals and households looking to live more sustainably).

This role is focused on growing Individual and Church giving from this constituency. There is work to do on developing engaging supporter journeys and fundraising appeals. There is also opportunity to develop fundraising propositions and take creative approaches to growing new donors. Job responsibilities

CEO Role

The Carbon Project Officer will support the project management of the Trust’s estate and third-party carbon Woodland and Peatland code projects, in turn supporting Operations teams to deliver carbon on the ground and meet long term carbon code requirements.

The role

This role involves working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

You’ll play a key role in the development of our UK Safeguarding on Transport Programme and part of a dynamic team delivering Railway Children’s safeguarding programme in the UK.

About you
We are looking for someone who brings experience of successfully engaging and supporting young people as well as experience of working in an outreach or similar community setting, in a creative and engaging way with young people with a range of needs and vulnerabilities.

Alongside this you will be able to work effectively with community and statutory partners to safeguard young people.

You will have completed relevant training, have experience in safeguarding and in the issues relevant to vulnerable young and families. Therefore, you will be an experienced practitioner with an excellent understanding of safeguarding processes and procedures, who is able to work creatively, independently and within professional boundaries.

Your base would be at Waterloo station with regular travel to other stations and some home working. This role involves working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

About the Role:

The Level 2 IAA Adviser will provide high-quality, regulated immigration advice within a charity setting, supporting refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and other people facing immigration-related barriers. The postholder will manage a varied caseload within their authorised Immigration Advice Authority level and category, deliver accessible and compassionate advice, prepare applications and representations, and help clients understand their rights, options and next steps. The role will contribute to the charity’s mission to promote dignity, inclusion and access to justice for people who may be vulnerable, marginalised or unable to afford private legal advice.

Essential Criteria:

• Provide IAA-immigration advice within the permitted scope of Level 2.
• Conduct sensitive and thorough client interviews, identify immigration issues, assess eligibility, and agree practical case strategies with clients.
• Prepare and submit immigration applications, write representations and submit supporting evidence.
• Draft clear advice letters that are accessible to clients.
• Support clients to understand Home Office processes, evidence requirements, deadlines, rights and responsibilities.
• Identify when matters fall outside Level 2 competence or the charity’s remit and make timely referrals.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date case records in line with charity policies, data protection requirements, funder requirements and regulatory standards.
• Work sensitively with clients who may have experienced trauma, destitution and exploitation.
• Contribute to outreach, drop-in advice sessions, workshops or community-based advice activity where required.
• Build positive working relationships with partner organisations, community groups and local authorities.
• Keep up to date with immigration law, Home Office policy, IAA professional standards and relevant charity sector practice through continuing professional development.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience supporting refugees, asylum seekers, migrants or people with complex support needs.
• Knowledge of welfare, housing, safeguarding or community support pathways relevant to immigration clients.
• Experience delivering advice through outreach, drop-ins, community venues or partnership settings.
• Experience using case management systems and contributing to audit, quality assurance, monitoring or funder reporting.
• Language skills or experience working effectively with interpreters.
• Understanding of the voluntary and community sector, including grant-funded service delivery and impact reporting.
