At Peabody, we’re committed to helping people build stable, confident futures. We’re looking for a Housing Support Worker who is compassionate, proactive, and ready to support adults and families living in temporary accommodation.
This is not a care role. It’s a practical, hands on support position focused on empowering people to manage their tenancies, develop essential life skills, and overcome barriers that may be affecting their housing stability. You’ll be working alongside tenants to help them feel more in control of their circumstances, stay independent, and move on positively at the end of their term.
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll provide high quality, person centred housing support to adults and families living in temporary accommodation, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to sustain their tenancies and move on successfully. You’ll work flexibly, delivering 1-to-1 support both over the phone and through home visits, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs, backgrounds, and circumstances of each household. Acting as a bridge between accommodation and a stable home, you’ll ensure tenants have the knowledge, tools, and support networks needed to thrive throughout their housing journey.
Your role will involve:
- Risk Management: Completing and regularly updating risk assessments to ensure the safety of tenants, the community, and yourself.
- Housing Related Support: Offering guidance on budgeting, benefit claims (including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit), rent payments, and basic home management.
- Signposting & Advocacy: Identifying additional needs such as mental health, employment, or substance misuse, and connecting tenants to specialist external agencies.
- Administrative Excellence: Maintaining accurate digital case notes in real time, ensuring GDPR compliance and strong, high quality reporting
- Team Collaboration: Providing “roving” support to colleagues and assisting at other schemes when required to ensure continuity of service.
- Holistic Support Planning: Co producing personalised support plans with tenants, setting clear and measurable goals to strengthen housing stability and overall wellbeing.
What we’re looking for
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex housing information clearly to a diverse tenant group, including individuals and families.
- Ability to travel independently to tenants’ homes as part of regular support delivery.
- Experience in housing, social care or community support (desirable but not essential – full training provided for the right candidate).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and digital case management systems, with confident report writing skills.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
- A collaborative, “can do” attitude with a willingness to support other schemes and colleagues during busy periods.

Future Roots Supported accommodation is located in Welwyn Garden City. What will you be doing?

About the role
Based in the PDT team this role will contribute towards Your Place’s overarching mission to end homelessness one person at a time and meet organisational KPI’s around outcome based contracts.
In response to an increasing proportion of residents who have been referred to us holding refugee status we are seeking to develop our supported accommodation services to meet the particular needs of this group.
This role will be responsible for developing our services to make them more accessible to our resident population who are from a migrant background. This includes:
- Developing our move on offer to residents from a migrant background including the design and delivery of move on training in particular ensuring that they have a realistic understanding of the housing market and to provide the appropriate support to enable them to maintain accommodation in future.
- The development of bespoke accommodation pathways and support to ensure that barriers that migrants face within housing market are overcome.
- To identify and liaise with reputable private sector landlords including on issues such as rent, housing standards and tenure.
- Working with Frontline Services colleagues to improve accessibility and cultural relevance of services to resident from a migrant background that promotes inclusivity and is trauma informed.
- To provide additional support to Housing Service team around Clearing House referrals where appropriate.

Responsibilities
- To work with residents/tenants to develop culturally accessible resources to prepare them for a move to appropriate accommodation, including advice and support on move-on accommodation, rent deposit schemes, understanding tenancies, budgeting, accessing utilities and services, and accessing welfare/housing benefits and grants.
- Identify and liaise with landlords, building relationships to secure move on accommodation for residents. Negotiate reasonable rents and deposit/advance payments.
- Receive details of appropriate properties from landlords, view property for suitability and carry out Health & Safety check.
- Ensure that properties meet relevant standards for safe occupancy (Housing Health & Safety Rating Systems, LA Licencing).

Building Tomorrow – Neighbourhood Housing Project Lead
Oasis exists to build stronger communities where there is no one left out. Building Tomorrow is an innovative new neighbourhood housing programme that Oasis is developing in Sheffield and Scunthorpe.
We are pioneering a new community-led solution to housing challenges in two communities where Oasis already works, running five schools and two community Hubs. We are working to develop quality housing that offers opportunity for families to find a stable and supportive place of belonging in community.
The programme will combine quality housing, excellent education (provided through Oasis academies), and community wrap-around support (delivered through our existing youth and community teams). This programme is designed to offer a preventative approach to housing challenges, acting as a proof of concept that can be replicated in other communities around the country.
This role will act as the central point of coordination which will ensure Building Tomorrow moves successfully from initiation to full activation over the initial 18-month period. In the activation period, we will purchase and refurbish the 20 properties, and this role will work in close coordination with our property consultants. As properties are purchased, we will begin to move into the delivery phase, where we start to house families.

What will you do?
The key areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:
· To act as the main link between all stakeholders: the Oasis teams including academies; contractors; and any community partners. To make sure everyone is communicating effectively and working toward the same goal.
· To work in close collaboration with Oasis Community Leaders in Sheffield and Scunthorpe. To support the Community Leaders and wider community teams to welcome families by acting as a key part of the community support offer through the 18-month activation phase.

About this role: Based in Higher Openshaw, East Manchester, Justlife currently works across Manchester and Tameside providing one-to-one key work support to empower vulnerable adults housed in temporary accommodation (TA) to move towards more secure housing, independent living and improved health and wellbeing. The role of Specialist Support Worker involves playing an active part in the Specialist Support Team by supporting a caseload of clients that are experiencing housing vulnerability and taking part in regular outreach visits to TA’s across Greater Manchester on the Justlife minibus. The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to support clients with varying degrees of mental and physical health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services and to access suitable housing solutions. The Specialist Support Worker is also expected to develop good working relationships with TA Landlords and Managers recognising the important role that they play in ensuring that their tenants experience of TA is as positive as possible. This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments, assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health and addiction needs, as well as advocating for them to get access to suitable housing and social security benefits. The role is dependent on excellent communication and collaborative working with colleagues and a variety of partners and professionals, including the Probation Service, local council services and other third sector organisations. The role requires a high degree of motivation in addition to creativity and flexibility to support people with multiple and compound needs. With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our clients, and with experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity. A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support clients, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse and involvement in the criminal justice system. This role will provide a variety of operational support to the Programme Team as we develop our offer and the delivery of intergenerational workshops. This job description will be reviewed on a regular basis and may be subject to change, particularly as the needs of the charity change. We aim to make the role permanent in August 2026, subject to funding.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing excellent admin support to the Programme Team and wider team
Guided by the Senior Programme Manager you’ll coordinate the administration of our programmes. You will work with the whole team to ensure contact details, registration forms, surveys and other relevant evaluation tools are completed and uploaded to our systems (CRM, Google Sheets, etc.) after workshops, activities, and other ad hoc events.
Being the go-to friendly face for our participants and partner organisations
You will be the first point of contact for our general inbox, responding to queries, ensuring that new details are added to the database and actions are sent to the relevant member of staff. Your efficient, thoughtful, professional approach will build trust and support the development of close working relationships with our stakeholders.
Ensuring the Programmes Team and partners are workshop ready
Liaising with the Programme Manager and Senior Programme Manager you will make sure our workshop leads have the materials, equipment and details they need to run high quality sessions. You will send out emails and text reminders to facilitators, schools and schemes for upcoming workshops.
Communication and information support
You will support our communications as directed by the Fundraising and Communications Lead. Supporting InCommon’s events, managing correspondence with event attendees, procuring event materials, equipment and resources to ensure a high standard of delivery. You will foster good communications throughout the charity, with Trustees, partners and with relevant external agencies and funders.
Managing the InCommon Office
You will be responsible for making sure the office runs smoothly and have responsibility for health and safety, including fire safety.

The spot salary for the Complaints Resolution Partner post is £15,439 per annum (FTE £30,878 per annum) for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. About you
- You'll have extensive complaint handling experience in a regulated environment, dealing with stage 1 and/or stage 2 complaints including the awareness of the regulations set out by an Ombudsman.
