This role helps build the supporter power to get us there by delivering an excellent membership experience & ensuring our members feel valued, informed and connected to the work of Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

The post holder will take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day administration of the Trust’s membership schemes, using the Charity CRM database to maintain accurate contact & financial records in line with GDPR. This includes processing new, renewing and lapsed memberships, handling payments ( Direct Debits, PayPal & Gift Aid) and providing consistently high-quality communication with members through enquiries, welcome packs, renewal reminders and supporter care.

You’ll also support member growth and retention by helping deliver key supporter journey communications, thanking activity and retention projects, and by liaising with external partners such as the membership recruitment agency. Alongside this, you’ll help co-ordinate membership resources such as welcome packs, leaflets and magazine mail-outs (working with the volunteer delivery network), and contribute to continuous improvement in data quality, reporting and processes to strengthen our systems and supporter relationships.

To succeed in this role, you’ll be committed to Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s mission and bring a proactive, ‘can-do’ approach. You’ll have experience in an administrative, office or customer service role, with strong organisation, attention to detail and a methodical approach to maintaining accurate records.

You’ll be confident using Microsoft 365 and databases/systems with an understanding of GDPR and data protection. You’ll communicate professionally and warmly by phone and in writing, handling confidential information and difficult conversations with sensitivity. Willingness to learn Direct Debits, Gift Aid and charity income processes is essential; charity/membership sector experience is desirable.

This is a maternity cover role to cover a period of maternity leave (up to one year) working 22.5 hours per week over three days (office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm) based at Brooke House in Ashbocking. There may be opportunity for the role to become a permanent contract. We operate flexible homeworking arrangements where colleagues spend more time working together than homeworking. The starting salary is £14,398.80 per annum pro-rata (FTE £23,998.00).

Job Purpose: 

The Head of People & Governance will provide leadership to the CEO Office team and serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This role will be responsible for the three specialist areas which form the CEO Office: People Services, Governance and Executive Support. 

This role is responsible for delivering the People Services function for the organisation, including the development and implementation of People Services strategies, plans, policies and processes. You will lead the People Services team in delivering high quality support and advisory services.

This post requires the individual to understand, anticipate and react to the organisation’s changing needs, to think critically, make decisions, and offer solutions to problems with expert professionalism, sensitivity, and confidentiality. To implement Butterfly Conservation’s (BC) objectives through leadership of the CEO Office team, setting and managing budgets, targets and workplans while inspiring and enabling staff to achieve their best.

Specific Tasks:

1. Delivering the People Services function      
2. Responsible for delivering a high-performing People Services function ensuring all interactions adhere to BC’s inclusion and organisational values. To lead, manage and be accountable for the function, including:

• Aligning workload with BC’s Strategy and annual business plans.
• Advising, coaching, and enabling the People Services team to deliver effectively and create an engaging, supportive, and empowering environment. 
• Ensure monthly workforce reporting systems are in place and actions followed up where required.  
• Lead on Employee Health and Wellbeing initiatives, promoting a culture of engagement and self-responsibility.
• Implement, monitor and evaluate performance management systems and processes.

• Account management for providers of BC’s People Services Workforce Systems, ensuring Service Level Agreements are met and partnership opportunities are maximised including Occupational Health, EAP services, Hireful and BreatheHR.
• Oversee and manage ‘Charity Learn’ BC’s online learning management system, to include setting up annual statutory training for all staff and creating bookable in-house training sessions as required.
• In conjunction with the CEO and SLT, develop and implement a People Strategy to include areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, and staff engagement. 

1. Governance, Risk and Management Information & Reporting

      Accountable for the smooth running of BC’s core governance activities and trustee meetings, including:

• Overseeing the risk and audit process for the CEO Office, bridging as needed between the Finance Directorate and the CEO Office Directorate.
• Ensuring all core legal requirements are met and that the trustees comply with their duties in accordance with the Articles of Association.
• Ensuring relevant statutory returns are submitted to Charity Commission and Companies House.

1. Executive Support

      Ensure the support function to the CEO and SLT is delivered efficiently and effectively, including direct line management of the Executive Assistant to the CEO and SLT PA’s.

1. Management and Development of Team members

      Responsible for managing a team of five direct reports and undertaking all People Manager duties, including:

• Setting objectives, workload planning, holding 121 meetings and regular reviews.
• Conducting Performance Development Reviews and giving timely direction and feedback.
• Building engagement within the team and creating an environment of trust and wellbeing.
• Coaching and developing team members to ensure professional and personal growth and career development and supporting any training needs. 
• Role modelling people management in line with BC’s values and competency framework, setting a good example from the CEO Office. 

1. Strategy, Planning and Budgeting

      Working with the CEO and SLT on the annual and long-term business cycles, including:

• Supporting with the creation of BC’s Strategy as required.
• Creating annual Directorate work plans to deliver actions and outcomes in line with BC’s strategic priorities ensuring  teams within your responsibility have clarity and direction.
• Working with Finance to ensure that the function has adequate budget to match the work plans and supporting with budget refresh and reforecasting.
• Supporting the Directorate with workforce planning and resource management as required.
• Responsible for the CEO Office budget.

1. Relationship building, partnering and culture development,

     Operating as a strong ambassador for BC and the CEO by:

• Cultivating and nurturing excellent working relationships both internally with all colleagues and trustees, and externally with branches, volunteers, partners, suppliers, funders, and sector networks.

The Senior Support Worker is the lead practitioner within their designated intensive support  domestic abuse refuge, providing day-to-day operational oversight and support to staff, volunteers and bank staff. 

Working closely with the Refuge Manager and Deputy Refuge Manager, the postholder ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed support to women and children fleeing domestic abuse. The role acts as the main point of continuity within the refuge, supporting staff induction, maintaining standards of practice, and contributing to a safe, stable and supportive environment.

• Previous experience working with high-net-worth individuals, either in the charity or commercial sector
• Proven success in major gift fundraising
• A strong understanding of major donor fundraising principles

Founded in 1968, they are a small, ambitious charity at the forefront of the UK’s contemporary arts scene. This is a rewarding role that offers the chance to contribute at both a granular and strategic level during an exciting period as they approach their 60th anniversary.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive & Artistic Director, you will oversee a turnover of approximately £1.2m. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Management: Budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Governance: Acting as Company Secretary, managing board meetings, and ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Systems Leadership: Completing the implementation of new accounting software (likely Xero) in early 2026.
• Team Leadership: Line managing a part-time Finance Officer and sharing management of an Administration Officer.
• Tax & Audit: Managing statutory accounts, external audits, and specialist areas like Creative Tax Reliefs.

What We Are Looking For

Centre 33 is an ambitious and growing charity based across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We offer a range of high-quality services to young people aged up to 25, including information and support on a “drop in” basis, mental health services, counselling, housing and financial advice, sexual health support and support for young carers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established ‘Someone to Talk to’ service in a Team Lead role.  The Team Lead will manage and oversee a team of staff and volunteers supporting young people across Centre 33’s two hubs in our North Locality – in Peterborough, Huntingdon and Wisbech. The Team Lead will work closely with the other Team Leads and Heads of Service to jointly ensure our multidisciplinary teams deliver excellent, safe, impactful and responsive services to young people.

We are looking for a highly motivated professional with experience working within a Mental Health, or youth work role, and with experience of managing people.  The Team Lead will bring strong expertise and leadership to Centre 33’s mental health support offer for young people aged 13-25 years, leading the teams delivering counselling and the wider, flexible emotional wellbeing offer. They will be responsible for providing support with case allocation, case management, reflective practice, risk management and Safeguarding. They will provide day-to-day designated Safeguarding leadership, supported by the Head of Service and Director of Services.  They will develop strong relationships with local organisations and statutory services to ensure effective joint working and support for young people.  This role may deliver ad hoc case work to support young people with more complex needs but will hold only a limited ongoing, regular case load.

The hours of work for this role are predominantly within core opening hours of 10 to 6pm, with some evening/Saturday working based on a rota. Due to our service delivery, it is important that the Team Lead is available for hub-based work during our core working hours.

We are looking for an Advice and Wellbeing Administrator to provide high quality administrative support to the Advice & Wellbeing team. The role will provide support to our expanding prevention and intervention programmes such as our Active Bystander Programme, including overseeing the enquiries, scheduling, and workshop administration. This role may also include triaging Advice Service and Sexual Violence Liaison Officer enquiries, booking appointments, maintaining electronic records and providing administrative support to the Advisors/Officers.
