What You Will Bring 

You might come from a charity, public sector or values-led organisation, or from a commercial role where people and purpose have been at the heart of your work. You may already have experience marketing services, campaigns or causes, or be ready for a step up with more ownership and responsibility. What matters most is your ability to work with empathy, bring ideas to life, and help people find, trust and access support when they need it most.

In your first six months, you will develop key relationships, scope the workplan and, in conjunction with colleagues, begin to build the evidence base needed for delivery of the ‘Voice’ element of our new strategy. 

You will use our flagship annual campaign - Major Trauma Awareness week (MTAW) as a platform for expansion of our voice and influence work. You will work closely with the Head of Lived Experienced and Social Research to ensure that we are able to develop a sound evidence base from which to grow our influence and reach. 

Beyond the first 6 months you will: 

• Design and begin to implement an impactful influencing plan, identifying horizon scanning opportunities to influence and raise our profile. 

• Utilise own assets and organisational assets, including the CEO, SLT and Heads of Service, to deliver this element of the new strategy. 

• You will build highly credible and impactful relationships with a variety of stakeholders. This will include policy makers in national and local government officials, politicians, the health and social care sector, clinicians specifically the trauma care and rehabilitation space, as well as other third sector organisations, think tanks and commercial organisations connected to recovery after serious and life-changing injury.

• Play a significant role internally and externally in communicating the organisation’s policy position, raising organisational brand.

• Work closely with others in the SLT and ELT on developing our thought leadership and translating this into published blogs and comment pieces yourself and for others - disseminating our shared ideas, evidence base and compelling stories of impact and recovery.

• Working closely with the Director of Income and Engagement, you will support their team’s expertise and credibility, helping them to generate income though speaking engagements, campaigns and key storytelling pieces.

The governance and policy manager is a senior strategic and operational role responsible for leading, coordinating, and strengthening all governance-related functions across World Physiotherapy. The postholder serves as a key advisor to the CEO, board, and leadership structures, ensuring governance systems are robust, efficient, and appropriate for an international membership organisation. The role works closely with member organisations (MOs), regions, and speciality groups to enhance governance practices, ensure policy alignment, and support coherent decision-making across the global network.

The role also contributes to organisational direction by actively participating in the development and implementation of the World Physiotherapy strategic plan and supporting alignment with regional and other strategic plans.

1. Governance leadership and oversight

• Lead, coordinate, and oversee all governance functions and activities across World Physiotherapy.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with the constitution, bylaws, policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Regularly review and update governance frameworks, systems, and processes to align with international best practices.
• Provide authoritative advice and interpretation on governance matters to the CEO, board, and leadership structures.

4. Regional elections coordination

7. Support to member organisations, regions, and specialty groups

• Provide expert governance and policy advice to MOs, regions, and speciality groups.

Person specification

Education and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, public administration, governance, business administration, international relations, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification (eg master’s degree) in governance, public policy, law, MBA, or related discipline (desirable).
• Professional certification in governance, compliance, or company secretariat (eg Chartered Governance Institute or equivalent) is an advantage.

The Role

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, operational management and external representation for the charity. Working Arrangements

This is a permanent role, offered as either:

● Part-time: 4 days per week, or.

The role is based at Canal Wharf, Eshton Road, Gargrave, BD23 3PN, with some flexibility around working hours and location by agreement. Regular travel across the Yorkshire Dales and occasional evening and weekend working will be required. Ideally, the successful candidate will live in, or within approximately 30 miles of, the perimeter of the Yorkshire Dales.

● 22 days annual leave, rising to 27 days after five years’ service, plus English bank holidays, pro rata for part-time hours.

About the Role:

You will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also you will contribute to cover for the Helpline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for service users referred in to the service, completing comprehensive impact and risks assessments using agreed processes and a tailoring the response to each individual's needs.
• Manage a caseload of service users who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally.
• Develop support plans where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service and provide accurate and timely performance information for internal and external use.

• Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting

• Acts as the main point of contact for Society Fellows, prospective Fellows and general enquiries by telephone, email, letters and in person
• Assists with application, Fellowship and subscription queries and Fellowship applications and sends welcome packs to new Fellows
• Administers and updates database records and provides reports from the database (for example, mailing lists for sending biannual newsletters and other printed items to Fellows)
• Assists the Finance Manager with financial administration relating to Fellowship, including standing orders, credit notes, direct debits and Gift Aid, renewals and various mailings

What will you be doing?

Manage caseload efficiently and effectively in line with The FA policies, procedures, regulations, protocols and thresholds:

• Undertake investigations in respect of allegations or concerns made against individuals within, or seeking to enter, football.
• Complete risk assessments and, where appropriate, recommend a risk management plan to the Safeguarding Case Manager, Professional Game Safeguarding Manager, Safeguarding Quality Assurance Manager or Head of Safeguarding Case Management.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and paperwork for consideration by the Safeguarding Review Panel for cases which require an order in accordance with The FA's Safeguarding Regulations.
• Progress cases to their full conclusion within the timescales stipulated by The FA and in adherence to The FA Safeguarding Case Management Team's Practice Standards.
• Keep all case files up to date by accurately and consistently recording actions taken on cases using The FA's Case Management system, in line with FA Data Protection Policies and protocols and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Code of Practice.
• Liaise with County FAs, Clubs, Leagues and other FA departments as well as statutory agencies throughout safeguarding investigations to ensure timely information sharing and inform The FA's assessment of risk.
• Liaise regularly with Individuals subject to safeguarding investigations to support their understanding of and engagement with the process.
• Ensure the FA fulfils its legal duties under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, including referrals to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Other:

• Work collaboratively with colleagues within The FA Group and external agencies, e.g. County FAs, the professional game, statutory agencies, Local Authority Designated Officers and other statutory agencies.
• Work with and support the network of Designated Safeguarding Officers in football and contribute to regional County FA meetings, and assist in the delivery of training, where required, at a regional or national level.
• Self-reflect on performance, ask for feedback, identify relevant learning needs, attend and effectively prepare for regular supervision and relevant management meetings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practice, taking accountability for ongoing professional development.

What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:

• BA/MA in Social Work, Police Officer (with relevant Child Protection experience), Youth Offending Officer or Probation Officer with a relevant degree or a lawyer experienced in child & family law.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in front-line child protection intervention and/or risk assessment of adult perpetrators, and application of risk assessment tools.
• Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and best practice.
• Evidence of a child-centred approach and an understanding of children's rights, needs and best interests.
• Excellent report writing skills, including risk assessments, risk management report writing and analysis of risk.
• Experience in handling sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Exciting Coordinator role at the heart of a national refugee and climate action project - 'Action Asylum'. Based in Liverpool, starts July 2026.

Action Asylum is a national, community-led, nature-based volunteering project that brings people seeking asylum and local residents together through practical climate and nature action - tree planting, habitat restoration, beach cleans, and food growing. Delivered across ten cities through a cross-sector network of refugee-sector organisations, Wildlife Trusts and local green partners, the project improves wellbeing and belonging, strengthens community cohesion, and contributes to nature recovery and climate resilience.

The project is led by Task Force Trust and we have secured funding for the 3 year project. A Central Coordination Team (CCT), hosted by Asylum Link Merseyside in Liverpool, provides national strategic oversight, partner coordination, communications, and evaluation across the full network.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, values-driven coordinator to join the Action Asylum Central Coordination Team as National Coordinator. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of a genuinely innovative national project - one that sits at the intersection of migration, climate action, and community.

The National Coordinator is the operational engine of Action Asylum's national network. You will be the primary point of contact for Project Leads across all ten cities, keeping delivery on track, ensuring robust monitoring and reporting, and supporting partners to deliver safe, inclusive, high-quality programmes. You will also coordinate the Skills Exchange Programme, work jointly with the Project Director on the University of Nottingham's independent evaluation, and line-manage the Liverpool Action Asylum Project Lead.

You will be based at Asylum Link Merseyside in Liverpool as part of the CCT, working closely with the Project Director (your line manager), the Finance Manager, and the National Comms Officer. Flexible working is available and regular in-person presence at the CCT base is expected. The role is 4 days per week (0.8 FTE) on a fixed-term contract aligned to the three-year project (July 2026 – June 2029), with an expected start date of Monday 6 July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for all ten city-level delivery partners, convening monthly national Project Lead meetings and quarterly national partnership network meetings.

• Manage the CODA reporting system, ensure timely partner reporting, compile bi-annual reports for funders, and support the University of Nottingham's independent evaluation (access, logistics, and city-level data - jointly with the Project Director).

• Oversee the continued co-production and delivery of the Skills Exchange Programme with all delivery partners and Wildlife Trusts throughout the three-year project.

• Support local partners with communications activity, contribute to the quarterly national newsletter, and work with the National Comms Officer and IMIX Media to ensure consistent, inclusive messaging across the network.

• Support the Project Director - who holds national safeguarding lead responsibility - in maintaining the project-wide safeguarding framework, risk log, and partner training records.

• Line-manage the Liverpool Action Asylum Project Lead (PL), who holds a combined role spanning Action Asylum project delivery and ALM's wider community wellbeing programme. This includes biannual supervisions, supporting the PL to meet their combined objectives, and offering pastoral support as needed.

• Play a key coordination role in national annual events (Year 2 Liverpool meet-up and Year 3 closing celebration) and support funder network engagement.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Experience working in the refugee, asylum or migrant sector, with a genuine understanding of the barriers and strengths within these communities.

• Strong project coordination and network management skills - comfortable holding multiple relationships and workstreams simultaneously.

• Experience with monitoring, evaluation and reporting, including data management and funder reporting.

• Excellent facilitation skills and confidence leading virtual meetings with diverse participants.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail - able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

• Experience of, or confidence in, line managing or supervising staff, with a supportive and accountable management style.

• A warm, collaborative working style with a genuine commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice.
