Public health communications manager jobs

The Project Manager plays a vital role in delivering exceptional Project Management for the major new Salesforce implementation of Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. This project will improve our Supporter experiences particularly in terms of email journeys. This role takes responsibility of the planning, execution and management of the Salesforce implementation of Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud project.

This strategic project is key to implementing the 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. The post holder will manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution through to embedding the new platform, ensuring the project is delivered on time, to scope, and to a high standard.

The post holder is part of a small team at ARUK and from time to time may need to support other colleagues to ensure smooth critical service delivery to the organisation.

This is an 18-month FTC.

 Key Responsibilities:

Project Management – Salesforce Marketing Cloud

· Develop a flexible project plan for the Marketing Cloud project that is adaptable to unexpected changes; manage these changes effectively through appropriate stakeholder management and risk planning.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with project team members, internal stakeholders, and third parties, to foster collaboration and drive the successful delivery of the salesforce marketing cloud project.  Manage the relationship with the external implementation partner.

· Drive and monitor project progress against timelines using appropriate project management tools (e.g. Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar), and ensure stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints; ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood from the start.

· Lead and participate in all required project meetings including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.

· Apply sound judgement and problem-solving expertise to manage project risks, decisions, and dependencies within the wider organisational context; demonstrate accountability by escalating project risks via appropriate and agreed channels.

· Support the Project Sponsor, Product Owner and Programme Manager with effective decision-making, budget management, and management of dependencies with other digital or organisational workstreams.

· Responsible for assessing and managing the project risk throughout the life of the project

· Manage all project governance and documentation, ensure meetings, actions and decisions are managed and documented appropriately.

· At the end of the project, conduct project closure and review sessions to capture successes and learnings and help ensure project outcomes and the new platform are effectively embedded into business-as-usual (BAU).

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration

· Lead on the development of a stakeholder management plan for the Project Sponsor and Product Owner ensuring it is tailored and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

· Liaising with the L&D team and internal communications team to ensure suitable change management and communication plans are in place

· Liaise on a regular basis with ARUK’s central Projects & Programmes team, ensuring project plans and approach align with ARUK’s project management approach.

· Work with the Senior DDT Programme Manager to ensure plans and reporting are set up and delivered in line with the wider DDT programme requirements. Build strong professional relationships, trust, and inspire confidence with stakeholders at all levels.

Project Management Best Practice

· Adopt and apply appropriate project management methodologies to suit the nature of the project.

· Contribute to the facilitation of project management best practise within DDT Teams

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Project management experience with evidence of successful delivery of complex technology projects including the identification, recording and tracking of expected benefits from the project during the project lifetime.

· Lead, motivate and manage this project, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear, drawing on the skills, strengths and knowledge of others to ensure deliverables are met.

· Recognised project management qualification or demonstrated relevant work experience that also demonstrates strong negotiation and influencing skills to drive project outcomes.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

· Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, growth environment.

· Excellent problem-solving skills, finding solutions and ensuring the project stays on track.

· Ability to maintain clarity when under pressure and retain focus on the end goal.

· Motivate, manage and pass on best practice in project management to other relevant colleagues.

As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

This is a high-profile leadership position at the heart of the organisation, you will oversee the strategy for political change (with a particular focus on England and Wales).

 About the role:

This is a pivotal role in our Campaigns and Communications Team, reporting to the Head of Campaigns and Communications. You will be managing the drafting of evidenced-based policy positions (for example analysing research, data and lived experience insight) and work with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to ensure these are translated into effective campaigning activity that drives real change.

You will oversee the integration of policy and campaigns activity, working closely with the Campaigns and Policy Officer, and enabling the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to engage with parliamentary and high-level stakeholder engagement.

This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced Policy and Campaigns Manager to shape how Endometriosis UK uses evidence, policy and campaigning together to improve diagnosis times, access to treatment, and support for those affected by menstrual health conditions across the UK.

The Head of External Communications is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for shaping, delivering, and protecting IAPB’s global communications work. This role leads the organisation’s external communications function, overseeing global media strategy, press outreach, stakeholder visibility, thought leadership, and crisis and reputation management. The postholder ensures IAPB’s voice is influential across global health, policy, and development sectors supporting the organisation’s 2030 In Sight strategy and positioning IAPB as a leading authority on vision and eye health.

Role and Responsibilities

1. External Communications & Media Strategy

• Develop and deliver a bold, high impact‑ external communications strategy aligned to IAPB’s mission and the 2030 In Sight strategy.
• Lead strategic planning across all external comms channels, ensuring integrated messaging across media, digital, publications, and partnerships.
• Use insight, data, and evaluation tools to monitor performance, influence future communications activity, and drive continuous improvement.

2. Team Leadership, Management & Press Office Leadership

• Lead and inspire a high performing‑ external communications team across media, content, and digital functions.
• Set clear goals, KPIs, outputs, and outcomes for team members and external partners.

• Secure high impact‑ coverage in global business, health, and policy publications (e.g., BBC, Financial Times, The Economist).
• Identify opportunities for proactive media moments, narrative shaping, and agenda setting‑.
• Serve as a senior spokesperson where required.

4. Thought leadership, Storytelling & Content Development

• Develop and deliver a global thought leadership‑ strategy, positioning IAPB leaders and experts as authoritative voices on eye health.
• Oversee publication of articles, op-eds, insights pieces, and leadership content across IAPB’s channels.
• Manage third party‑ engagement including panels, conferences, media partnerships, and editorial collaborations.
• Build and promote a pipeline of owned thought leadership platforms and sector‑ leading‑ commentary.
• Oversee global storytelling that humanises eye health and elevates lived experience from communities worldwide.
• Lead the Every Story Counts initiative and develop multimedia content that strengthens global understanding of eye health challenges.

5. Stakeholder Visibility

• Elevate IAPB’s profile among policymakers, global health institutions, donors, private sector partners, and high level‑ influencers.

6. Crisis Communications & Reputation Management

About the role

We’re looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Manager with experience in delivering high-impact, voice-led policy, public affairs and campaigning work to join our Policy and Influencing team.

We have a growing and ambitious commitment to creating positive change in the health and care system to achieve the change children and young people with cancer, and their families, need across the UK. This means amplifying the voices of young cancer patients and delivering evidence-based campaigns that make change happen.

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager is responsible for ensuring our policy and influencing work has maximum impact through our public affairs and campaigning across the UK. This work will be co-created with children and young people at every appropriate opportunity. Building relationships is a crucial part of your role and you will support the Head of Policy and Influencing to deliver Young Lives vs Cancer’s policy, influencing and voice work to be sector leading and develop a range of external relationships to inform our work in this area.

Our Policy, Influencing and Voice Team build the evidence base we need to develop sound policy positions, works to influence the system for children and young people with cancer and their families, so we can change experiences of having cancer and ensure children and young people’s voices are heard. The team is a part of the Innovation, Policy and Systems Change Directorate, which synthesises our policy, research, campaigning, voice, innovation and systems change work.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Monitoring and analysing developments and trends in policy affecting children and young people with cancer, to identify relevant policy issues across the UK at an early stage and to advise on and help shape the charity’s response and public position.
• Working with colleagues across the team to develop policy positions that are relevant, up to date and can be used to support wider campaigning and influencing activities to engage our supporters, across health, social care, benefits and welfare reform, education issues and other relevant issues.
• Planning, managing and implementing public affairs plans and engagement based on policy priorities and effectiveness, liaising with external partners and coalitions, including designing and delivering our proactive engagement with elected representatives, monitoring the public affairs environment and co-ordinating reactive and proactive activities across the UK.
• Delivering a campaigns programme which builds on are previous successes, ensuring our campaigns and public affairs programmes work alongside with and alongside children, young people and families.
• Working with the Head of Policy and Influencing to support Young Lives vs Cancer’s engagement, communications and influence with policymakers, elected representatives and other key stakeholders.
• Developing external partnerships and networks to strengthen policy and public affairs activity

What do I need? 

The key skills we’re looking for in this role are:

• Ability to deliver strategic policy and public affairs activity based on robust evidence, from development to evaluation.
• Successfully influence politicians and key decision-makers to achieve strategic goals at different levels of government, through managing the delivery of successful public affairs campaigns
• Overseeing work that involves beneficiaries in policy and influencing work, demonstrate effective influencing skills
• Awareness and understanding of and/or experience of working in the policy issues facing young people with cancer across all four UK nations, and the wider policy and influencing and/or campaigning landscape
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills at a variety of levels to a wide range of audiences, in particular a political audience
• Be an organised, systematic and a confident worker - managing a fast paced and reactive workload alongside longer-term strategic work whilst demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy

BIG Alliance (Businesses for Islington Giving) delivers business-supported employee volunteer programmes to strengthen links between businesses, community organisations and education institutions across Islington. In doing so, it aims to help address issues of poverty and isolation, which are prevalent across the borough, despite the perception of Islington being an area of high wealth. 43% of children are growing up in poverty, one if the highest rates in the country, and Islington is the 6th most deprived out of 32 London boroughs.

Established in 2012, BIG Alliance aims to make community investment easier, more effective and more rewarding for its business members.  It is a partnership between, East London Business Alliance – a registered charity that has been supporting the social and economic regeneration of east London for 30 years, Macquarie Group – principal funder and founder, and Islington Giving - funder and founder.  To date, BIG Alliance has placed more than 16,000 business professionals into volunteering opportunities within over 700 community organisations, schools, colleges and universities.

Purpose of the job

The main purpose of the job is to facilitate development and delivery of the BIG Alliance’s skills-based volunteering programme, which utilises the skills, experience and sector-specific expertise of employees within our business partners to support Islington’s community organisations and residents.

Our skilled volunteers are placed with a community partner or beneficiary either individually or join one of our annual programmes which include: CoRe (Community Resourcing), Board Builders, Leaders in Partnership and Time to Talk. Over 3,000 employees have been placed as skilled volunteers through BIG Alliance since 2012 providing expertise in law, finance, IT, HR, and marketing and communications to name just a few.

The postholder will be responsible for the successful delivery of various aspects of this programme, delivering exciting, innovative employer supported volunteering projects that meet the expectations of specific corporate supporters, and the needs of the community with key geographical focus in Islington.

Job Description

Main duties

• Collaborate closely with community partners, corporate partners and BIG team to understand community needs and design appropriate employee volunteering activities to address these needs

• Develop relationships and effective partnerships with key stakeholders in the community including the local authority and community infrastructure support organisations to maximise the impact of BIG Alliance’s work.

• Support the delivery of all business skills activity and the wider BIG Alliance programmes.

• Proactively market volunteering programmes to BIG Alliance corporate partners.

• Source, place and manage cohorts of corporate volunteers in line with business plan and project targets.

• Develop effective working relationships with community affairs team with BIG Alliance corporate partners, ensuring that these companies are supported to develop employee volunteering and other initiatives that meet their targets, priorities and strategies.

• Implement effective evaluation and impact measurement tools in line with BIG Alliance corporate partner requirements, ensuring that evaluation informs best practise to ensure continuous improvement.

• Work on any projects with BIG Alliance, as and when required.

General

• Use BIG Alliance’s internal systems to maintain records and report progress, including due diligence and volunteer recording via Salesforce

• Ensure that effective project management systems for monitoring and evaluation are in place and keep detailed records.

• Proactively generate case studies, news articles, photos and social media content to promote the work of BIG Alliance in line with BIG Alliance communication targets and protocols.

• Collaborate with other BIG Alliance colleagues on projects where appropriate and contribute to the development of BIG Alliance/ELBA as an organisation overall.

The Quality Assurance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring high standards, consistency and reliability across all Day One services. Working closely with the Heads of Hospital Services and Community Services Development, the post holder leads the design and implementation of a robust organisational quality framework, service standards, auditing tools and monitoring processes. They provide assurance that services are safe, effective and delivered in line with Day One’s values, carrying out regular audits, analysing findings and submitting clear monthly performance reports to the Director of Services.

This role supports both continuous improvement and compliance, maintaining all operational service policies and ensuring safeguarding quality is monitored appropriately, with concerns escalated to senior leads. Through thoughtful analysis, clear reporting and a supportive approach, the Quality Assurance Manager ensures Day One’s services remain consistent, high quality and driven by best practice.

We are looking for an extraordinary person to become the Service Coordinator of the friendly teams in our Mental Health Supported Living services which are located across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The successful Service Coordinator(s) will lead the team in enabling individuals with complex mental health needs to create their own developmental programme with the aim of progressing to further independent living. This will include supporting people to develop the strategies that underpin resilience, to learn the responsibilities of citizenship, to acquire practical living skills and establish themselves within the community of their choice.

You will be a creative and inspirational leader with great listening skills who will empower every individual in your team to be their best self at work. You will have an excellent understanding of person-centred approaches and be committed to proactively promoting the psychological and emotional well-being of those you support.

You will work closely with the 2 Service Managers and Service Coordinator who work in the Mental Health Supported Living division to maintain and develop each service as a high-quality provision for the people we are supporting. You will ensure all services remain compliant with the legislation that governs the sector while demonstrating and evidencing that both services provide excellent support for people.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the services which will include planning and managing the rota to ensure that people get the support they need when they need it.
• Guiding the team to co- write and review support and risk management plans, ensuring that the people we support are at the centre of the process.
• Supervising staff, providing regular one to supervisions, organising team meetings, identifying and maximizing opportunities to develop the skills of each individual in the team and ensuring that their training is up to date.
• Participating in referrals and assessments for the service.
• Working within a set budget and monitoring expenditure as appropriate.

The successful candidate will:

• Have strong leadership skills, ideally with some management experience.
• Be organised and practical, able to manage your time prioritise work in accordance with the imperatives of the service.

• Have experience of working in mental health, particularly working with people who have complex mental health needs.

 10 Windsor Walk (10WW) is a Community Interest Company established by local therapists concerned to address the provision of intensive psychological services for those most in need.

We support psychoanalysts, psychotherapists and the local community by providing psychotherapy treatment rooms and space for training and events related to developing psychological services.

More than this, we are a hub where therapists and psychoanalysts can meet, work together and exchange ideas on developing the practice as a whole.
