To thrive in this role, you'll need hands-on experience of facilitating groups or meetings and an understanding of what great facilitation looks like. Whilst already being a qualified SMART Recovery Facilitator and/or having engaged with our meetings as a previous participant is a distinct advantage, we also accept applications from individuals with a general awareness of addiction recovery or our 4-Point Programme. Importantly, you’ll be someone who brings people together, listens deeply, and creates a safe, empowering space for growth and recovery.
Your presentation skills should engage, inspire, and inform with clarity and warmth, whether you’re speaking with a room full of volunteers, delivering training via Zoom, or presenting to our partnership organisations. You’ll be required to help grow our footprint, increase and diversify our partnerships and encourage the uptake of our programme. You will represent UKSR at community events, recovery walks and conferences and get involved in defined projects.

It’s essential for you to bring empathy, authenticity, and a deep respect for others’ experiences to all of your interactions. You’ll need to be self-motivated and highly organised, and able to manage your time, workload, and travel with autonomy. You’ll be someone who uplifts, encourages, and empowers, helping others see what’s possible.
You should have experience in working with volunteers, understanding how to support and develop their skills. Previous delivery of training is essential, and if that experience has been gained in a peer-support or recovery setting, all the better. This role requires emotional intelligence; you’ll be working with people who have faced adversity, and your ability to support them within clear, professional boundaries is critical. Giving and receiving feedback, gathering data and other evidence to inform service development, and exercising reflective practice are all essential attributes.
You’ll also contribute to key projects that move SMART Recovery forward, adding your voice and insight to help shape what comes next. The role therefore requires project mangement skills as you will work on specific projects that develop our publications, training, communications and marketing. If you have a special interest and expertise in certain areas of our business such as social media and campaigns, training, volunteer management or copywriting we can develop this skill and interest as an enhancement to your role. Developing areas of expertise within our Co-ordinator team is something we are keen to do.
As this is a home-based role, you’ll need to be comfortable forming meaningful relationships online, building trust and connection via email, phone, and video calls. We’ll provide the equipment you need, but you’ll bring the energy and adaptability to make remote working feel personal and productive. Regular travel across the defined regions is a vital part of the role, visiting SMART Recovery meetings in the community and within partner organisations, and offering continual support to facilitators, are all essential in helping our network continue to grow with the quality we strive for.

About Pathway Fund
We are the UK's first Black and Ethnic Minoritised (BEM)-led impact investment wholesaler, dedicated to catalysing opportunities for Black and Ethnically Minoritised communities across the UK. Our mission is to address structural inequalities within the UK’s investment ecosystem by providing bespoke and subsidised capital to BEM-led organisations, making it more affordable and accessible to those underserved by existing infrastructure. Role Summary
The activities of the Programme Manager are key to the deployment of Dormant Assets funding, in alignment with Pathway Fund’s strategy 2026-2029. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will act as an operational lead for the Programme team. In this role, you will build upon and embed the existing structures for end-to-end delivery of Pathway’s funding programmes and oversee the effective management of our investment portfolio, ensuring continuous improvement, timely delivery, high-quality outputs, and robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning. To successfully lead the Grants team and raise voluntary income from a range of Grantmakers including Trusts, Foundations and local Government grant funders contributing to an overall team target of £1-million +. Working effectively with a grants team of three, and across the organisation, you will meet team annual targets of circa £675,000 through finding new opportunities, building excellent relationships with funders and managing the team effectively. This will lead to more young people reached by Eikon’s services.
Responsibilities
Income generation
· Lead responsibility for raising current annual team target of £675,000 for restricted and unrestricted income
· Work to agreed metrices including an annual target of £220,000 - £250,000/year with a pipeline including statutory, national & regional grant funders (some being invite only).
· Develop and lead networking plan (internal/external) to secure long-term grant and statutory funding opportunities to help increase financial income year on year.
Account Management
· Lead a stewardship framework, ensuring excellent account management of funders across the team (including own portfolio)
· Lead plans for the year, thinking creatively to develop new engagement opportunities such as panels, breakfast meetings and other events
· Collaborate with other leads and managers in the team to maximise opportunities through relationships, for example Major Donors, Corporate partnerships and Individual Givers.
Management
· Line management two staff members (Senior Grants Fundraiser and Trust Fundraiser), creating a positive and supportive working culture supporting them to meet their targets
· Lead on managing pipeline information on Donorfy, being able to pull reports for information and analysis including:
o Provision of data and narrative for monthly team meetings
o Contribution to Board reporting with narrative and pipeline information

Quality and standards
· Ensure all staff and volunteers understand and deliver within Eikon’s safeguarding policies and practices when taking part in fundraising activities.

The Trusts and Foundations team forms part of High Value Partnerships within Shelter’s Income Generation Directorate.
The team currently consists of eight fundraisers and one Grants Manager, working together to secure funding and develop lasting relationships with trusts and foundations.
