The Worker Support Centre (WSC) is a Scottish charity working in partnership with migrant workers at risk of exploitation across Scotland to secure their rights, challenge labour exploitation, build collective power, and drive lasting law and policy change. We are an evidence-led, worker-driven organisation with strong governance and a growing track record of policy impact. We're building a movement of people who welcome all workers, working towards a world where we are all safe, valued and respected at work — no matter our job or nationality.
WSC operates a worker-driven structure that places migrant workers at the centre of our governance and decision-making. We deliver casework alongside worker-led organising and policy advocacy, supporting migrant workers in seasonal agriculture and social care to meet basic needs and to understand and exercise their rights, including through our Worker Power programme, which builds solidarity between workers and within communities.
This is a new, senior role bringing together fundraising and communications leadership at WSC. The Fundraising and Communications Manager will lead the strategic direction for both functions, with a particular emphasis on hands-on delivery of fundraising activity — building relationships with trusts, corporate partners and individual donors, and securing the income that underpins WSC's growth.
On the communications side, the postholder will set strategy, editorial direction and quality standards, working closely with and line managing the Senior Communications and Movement Building Officer, who leads day-to-day content and campaign delivery. This is a role for someone who can operate strategically with the Executive Director and Board while remaining close to the detail of funding applications, donor relationships and income targets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
● Lead the development and delivery of an integrated Fundraising and Communications strategy that grows WSC's income and public profile in support of organisational goals.
● Advise the Executive Director and Board of Trustees on income generation, funding risk, and public positioning.
● Own annual fundraising and communications targets, budgets and KPIs, reporting regularly on progress.
● Work collaboratively with the team on both fundraising and communications work.
Fundraising (primary delivery focus)
● Lead on identifying, cultivating and securing funding from trusts, foundations, statutory sources, corporate partners and major donors, with hands-on responsibility for research, applications and relationship management.
● Develop diversified income streams, including individual giving, community fundraising and philanthropic support.
● Write and submit compelling funding proposals and grant applications, working closely with the Executive Director and programme colleagues to develop a strong case for support and evidence impact.
● Build and maintain funder relationships, including stewardship, reporting deadlines and site visits.
● Maintain the funder pipeline, income tracking and forecasting, and provide regular financial reporting to the Executive Director.
● Ensure fundraising activity complies with charity governance, fundraising regulation and data protection requirements.
Communications (strategic oversight and delegated delivery)
● Set the strategic direction for WSC's communications, ensuring it amplifies the voices of migrant workers and supports movement-building, policy influence and fundraising goals.
● Develop streams of work specifically targeting Scottish Government pledges on areas including fair work, human trafficking, migrant integration, housing and poverty, working with policy colleagues to shape public messaging.
● Provide direction, editorial oversight and quality assurance for content produced by the Senior Communications and Movement Building Officer, including the website, social media, press, newsletters and campaign materials.
● Act as WSC's senior media contact, and through the Senior Communications and Movement Building Officer ensure appropriate relationships are built with journalists to secure profile-raising opportunities on migrant worker rights, fair work and labour exploitation.
● Ensure consistent brand, tone of voice and values-led, worker-centred storytelling across all communications channels.
● Oversee communications that support fundraising campaigns, donor communications and public engagement.
Line Management
● Line manage the Senior Communications and Movement Building Officer, including regular supervision, goal-setting and professional development.
● Support the Senior Communications and Movement Building Officer to deliver day-to-day content, campaigns and movement-building communications activity in line with agreed strategy.
● Manage freelancers, agencies or consultants (for example design, digital or PR support) as required.
Governance & Reporting
● Ensure compliance with fundraising, charity, data protection (GDPR) and safeguarding legislation across fundraising and communications activity.
● Maintain accurate fundraising and communications databases (CRM, Mailchimp and similar), and provide regular reporting and analysis to the Executive Director and Board.
● Support the Executive Director and Board in reporting income and impact to funders, trustees and other stakeholders.
● Participate in the WSC Senior Management Team, helping review alignment of WSC’s work with strategic vision.
Participation & Values
● Champion WSC's worker-driven governance model, ensuring workers' voices lead our fundraising and communications narratives.
● Collaborate with policy, casework and operations colleagues to align fundraising, communications and organisational priorities.
● Co-produce fundraising and communications outputs with workers, prioritising their voices, interests and concerns.
● Actively contribute to a values-led, inclusive and collaborative working culture.

About Us
We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support. Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model.
Our vision is to have “A society where NO male survivor is left behind”
About the Role
The OUT Side OUT Spoken Navigator supports male survivors and survivor allies as they prepare to leave prison or another secure setting and rebuild their lives in the community. The role provides intensive, trauma-informed support shaped around each person’s individual circumstances, including completing risk and needs assessments and developing a tailored support plan. You’ll help people navigate challenges around housing, healthcare, benefits, employment and community connections, working closely with prison, probation, health, social care and other partner agencies. The aim is to reduce barriers; strengthen stability and ensure people continue to feel supported throughout the transition from custody into the community.
About You
You’ll have experience of providing one-to-one support or advocacy to people with complex needs and be comfortable working with trauma, risk and the challenges that can accompany release from custody. Experience within criminal justice, mental health, housing, social care or community services would be particularly helpful, as would an understanding of sexual harms affecting boys and men. You’ll be able to build trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries, manage competing priorities and work confidently with a range of partner agencies. We also recognise the value of transferable experience and welcome applicants who are thoughtful, reliable and committed to learning and making a meaningful difference.
Why Join Us?
· a competitive salary.
· annual leave package with incremental rises plus bank holidays.
· company sick pay.
· Birthday annual leave.
· monthly clinical supervision.
· pension contribution.
· and a range of discount and benefit programmes.
Apply by sending your CV and a short supporting statement (max 2 pages).
In your supporting statement, we want you to answer these two questions:
• How can your experience support male survivors to thrive?
• How do you meet the role profile? Ensure you answer ALL elements in your CV or supporting statement.
Interviews are expected to take place towards the end of September.

The Opportunity:
This is a 12 month fixed-term opportunity to take on a central role in how BSC manages impact and systems change across all asset classes we invest in, at a pivotal moment as we become a tech-first organisation. We welcome applicants looking for a secondment as well as those seeking a fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave.
You will help shape how BSC generates, reports on and acts on impact and systems change insight across our whole portfolio. This spans building the data infrastructure and analytical capability behind our investment decisions, redesigning how we report to our Investment Committee, Board and external stakeholders, and working directly with the asset class teams and fund managers to embed rigorous impact, ESG and EDI practice into individual deals.
You'll be joining a team already recognised for the strength of its impact investing practice. We invest in our people as seriously as we invest our portfolio. You will gain direct exposure to our Investment Committee and senior leadership, and accelerate your growth through hands-on experience, tailored training and collaboration with sector-leading specialists.
What you will do:
Help lead the design and delivery of our tech-first, data-driven impact and systems change insights capability
Shape the insights we build and prioritise across asset classes and impact themes, aligned with our 2026-30 strategy.
Help build the internal data infrastructure that underpins these insights, working with our data, AI and asset class teams to sharpen and scale what we can deliver.
Lead portfolio-level analysis through our annual performance cycle, turning data into insight the investment team, leadership and our Investment Committee can act on.
Help lead the redesign and delivery of decision-useful impact reporting
Lead the design of management information that supports how we make, manage and learn from our investments across the portfolio.
Support the delivery of reporting to our key governance bodies including our Investment Committee and Board.
Support the redesign and delivery of our external impact report, and lead on our impact, ESG and EDI disclosures.
Enable high quality deal-level impact, ESG and EDI analysis and practice across the investment lifecycle
Deliver impact, ESG and EDI analysis for investment across their lifecycle, as needed.
Working with asset class teams, steward the effective completion of our shared ‘impact term sheet’ with our fund managers, including agreeing measurable KPIs.
Help lead the next phase of our market-leading impact investment approach
Lead and contribute to parts of our market-leading impact investing practice and process, in collaboration with colleagues across BSC and with external partners as the opportunities arise.
Contribute to team- and organisation-wide initiatives that help us deliver our mission, such as working groups to improve our approach on key areas.
