About the Spokesperson Network
The Spokesperson Network trains and supports people to speak on television and radio. We are substantially boosting the number of progressive, diverse voices in this space to challenge opposition narratives and boost coverage of underrepresented issues.
The programme works by training, coaching and providing PR booking support for spokespeople from civil society working on social, environmental and economic issues. So far we’ve had over 11,000 high-profile media bookings including Question Time, Newsnight, Good Morning Britain, LBC, Channel 4 News, BBC 5 Live, Today, Sky News and ITV News plus many more.
Purpose of the role
The Press Officer is central to our flagship Spokesperson Network programmes, placing people in broadcast media on a regular basis, developing and maintaining media contacts and meeting the needs of participants on the Spokesperson Network.
Your main day-to-day role will be identifying opportunities for members of our Spokesperson Network, and then coordinating between them and producers to secure TV and radio opportunities for them. You will build relationships with journalists - and increasingly seek our print and digital opportunities too.
Most days will involve spotting opportunities in the news early in the day that would be relevant for the spokespeople we have on our books, checking in with the various spokes to see who is available, formatting pitches to put out on our media list and then fixing up the details when media bids come in to ensure that bookings happens smoothly and effectively.
Requests for the members of the Spokesperson Network happen regularly outside of office hours and during the weekend. Part of this role will involve sharing responsibility to be available to respond to these bookings and fix them up when they happen. You will be recompensed for this with TOIL.
This project is part of a wider Communications Hub in which you’ll play an active role helping to develop the overall strategy and direction of the project.

-
Identifying clippable content, creating clips.
-
Play an active role in the wider Comms Hub, attending and feeding into key messaging and narrative development.
-
Play an active part in the whole NEON team, contributing to organisation-wide plans
Who you are:
-
Experience in journalism, communications or media relations
-
Experience of building and maintaining relationships with journalists
-
Proven understanding of anti-oppression work and commitment to tackling all institutional forms of oppression, bigotry and exclusion

About NEON:
NEON is a capacity and infrastructure building organisation that seeks to accelerate the transition to a new economy by building the power of social movements - because without strong social movements we lack the power we need to win. We deliver trainings, develop resources, facilitate collaboration and work in partnership with key movement allies, especially in the climate, housing and migration movements. Our focus is on strengthening the organising, communications and strategy skills of social movement organisations, as well as deepening movement alignment, as we believe these are key to building collective power. As part of our work, we are looking to change the starting point in social movements from “what do we agree on” to “what can we win together?”
We also aim to mirror the change we want to see in social movements in the way we run the organisation internally. To that end, we are committed to building a workplace centred on joy, care and justice, whilst maintaining healthy boundaries of what a workplace is. We do this because it is important to live our values and principles, and because strategically an organisation with a healthy culture and strong foundations ensures we are always one step ahead in the fight for a just and sustainable future.
To build a culture and community that lasts, we organise around three values:
● Solidarity - we’re here to change the system and that requires working together across issues and sectors that aren’t normally in the same room. This means placing anti-oppression at the heart of our work and building the power of people most often affected by injustice to change the leadership of our movements
● Generosity is about sharing our time, resources and learning with one another as we support each other’s work. It means being open and honest with one another, especially when we hit problems, and thinking creatively about how we positively build from there
● Respect is the bottom line for all relationships in NEON. It means being respectful of different backgrounds and life experiences and giving space for all voices to be heard. This often means listening more than we talk and being open to changing ourselves as a result of what we hear.
You can also check out our website for more info on NEON.
How to apply
We don’t want to make this process too complicated so please complete and return the application form attached to the job listing on our website.
We'd also be really grateful if you could complete our Equal Opportunities Monitoring form equally linked on the website. This is optional, anonymous, and separate from your application, so it won't be seen by the shortlisting panel or affect your application in any way.
We know that people from certain backgrounds and identities are often excluded in progressive movements and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this.
So:
-
We particularly welcome applications from marginalised groups, especially people of colour and other ethnic minorities, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Disabled people and those who identify as working class or have done so in the past.
-
We know the work goes way beyond "diversity", it's about making the space inclusive too. So we are continuously working on that at NEON. So far this includes tangible things like a flexible work policy so people have genuine flexibility around where and when they work and a 28 hour week as standard; a gender-neutral parenting/leave policy, an anti-oppression strategy which is held at senior level given how important it is to the organisation. It also includes the day-to-day work of creating psychological safety for everyone at NEON and celebrating the wisdom of black, indigenous, queer, Disabled and other cultures in the way we work and behave
There are no formal education requirements for this role. As long as you can show us you have the skills we don’t mind where you got them from! Also important to us is your potential to learn and grow in the role so even if you don’t have 100% of the skills listed we want to hear from you. If you fancy a chat about the role or have any questions about NEON in general, you can reach out to Matthew Butcher or Molly Fleming via email (on our website). You can request a call back via this email if you prefer.

Rays of Sunshine, recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026, is looking for an experienced and proactive Executive Assistant to the CEO to join our small, ambitious and collaborative team.
This is a varied part-time role at the heart of the organisation, working closely with the CEO to provide high-quality executive support and help coordinate governance, projects, organisational priorities and key operational activity.
You will be joining Rays of Sunshine at an exciting point in our development, with a clear focus on strengthening how we work, delivering our ambitions well and continuing to grow our impact for seriously ill children and their families.
This is much more than a traditional diary-management role. You will work closely with the CEO across a broad range of priorities, helping to create structure, maintain momentum and ensure important actions are followed through. The role will involve coordinating meetings, briefings and actions; supporting Committee and governance processes; helping to keep key organisational projects on track; and providing practical support across operational activity.
You will also play an important role in the wider rhythm of the organisation, helping to coordinate team meetings, collaborative sessions, away days, staff engagement activity and actions arising from staff feedback.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure and confident working independently. You will need excellent judgement and absolute discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. You will be someone who can anticipate what is needed, take ownership of tasks through to completion and build strong relationships with colleagues, Trustees, advisers, partners and suppliers.
Our team is small, values-led and ambitious. We value collaboration, kindness, accountability and a willingness to get stuck in. Because of our size, everyone has a visible impact, and this role will suit someone who enjoys being at the centre of an organisation, understands how to keep things moving and takes pride in doing the small things exceptionally well.
Experience in governance or the charity sector would be helpful but is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with strong EA or senior coordination experience, excellent judgement and the ability to bring structure and pace to a busy environment.
At Rays of Sunshine, we brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families through magical wishes, hospital services and our wider Wish Community. This is an opportunity to use your skills in a role where the quality of your work will directly support the effectiveness and impact of the charity.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with interviews held on a rolling basis on or before 8 October 2026. An immediate start is desirable, so early applications are encouraged.

We work together to strengthen the voice of people: patients, service users, carers, their families, and the voluntary organisations that work for them.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to- face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time. We are happy to discuss how this sits in your life. This can be agreed by your line manager.
In addition, because this role involves engaging with and recruiting to a large network of VCSE organisations, the post holder will be required to regularly attend in-person events across England. These are likely to take place around once a month and may sometimes require overnight stays. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for events across England will be paid, however, travel to our London office will be at the expense of the postholder.
Please note that our offices are fully wheelchair accessible and that we are committed to making our workplace fully inclusive.
Application guidance
Please submit a CV and answer the questions in the application form to apply.
Applications should be addressed to our Director of Evidence and Improvement, Sarah Sweeney, and submitted through CharityJob.

The interviews will take place on Friday 9th October on Microsoft Teams. Details of an interview task and interview questions will be emailed to you in advance.
We are committed to diversifying our team in order to broaden the insight and experiences we can draw on, and to do our work more credibly. In particular, we would welcome applications from older people, disabled people and people who have experienced socioeconomic inequality. Our offices are fully accessible and we are a Disability Confident and an LGBT+ friendly employer.

WHO WE ARE
We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night's sleep, and the chance to thrive at school.
In our eight years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 18,000 bed bundles to children to date!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Zarach is well established in West Yorkshire and Doncaster. We are now continuing to grow across the Yorkshire region, with a launch in Hull, Bridlington and Goole in October. We are looking to recruit a Family Engagement Officer to join our dedicated Yorkshire team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in the growth and development of our vital service as we expand into the East Riding.
As our ideal candidate you will be happy to travel in and around Hull and the East Riding. You will be able to travel regularly to meet with the team and conduct home visits across the region. You will also need to be able to attend our Leeds Warehouse, or other areas in Yorkshire when required. You will be confident to work autonomously in your area while being supported remotely by a wider regional team.
You will be someone who has good experience of the broad range of day-to-day case management, working with external partners, volunteer support, and administrative activities that working in a dynamic charity brings, and someone who enjoys the busyness and variety of this. While not essential, as training will be provided, experience working alongside schools will help you hit the ground running as you build relationships and support local families.
Alongside your family support and engagement-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with vulnerable families and managing volunteers in the charity sector, due to some of the specialties that come with this, such as safeguarding and partnership working. But charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Starting at £26,000 with progression up to £30,000 p/a
- Full time hours (35 hours per week)
- 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
- Healthcare Cash Plan
- Quarterly Staff Recognition Award
- A great working environment! One of our colleagues described us as- “Zarach is a wonderful place to work with the mission at the core of all that we do”
To decide if you’d like to bring your skills and experience to bear in the pursuit of our mission, please have a look at the job description, our website and the coverage of us across social media.
Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications. Therefore, we encourage you to submit your CV and cover letter as soon as possible.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
The General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches (GA) is the central charity that supports its member congregations, ministers and societies in England, Scotland and Wales. Its purpose is to promote free and inquiring religion, through inclusive, free-thinking communities that draw on wisdom from all sources, without doctrine or dogma. Our congregations are autonomous and locally led; the GA is not a hierarchical leadership body, but one that supports and leads alongside our members.
As Britain’s religious culture and context has changed, so have Unitarian communities, and the GA is in a process of adapting to best meet these changing needs.
The purpose of this role
This is a new role, created as part of a restructuring of the GA's operational team. The Administrative Coordinator is the human face of the GA's operational work. This is a role for someone who is genuinely energised by working with people - warm, organised, and reliable - and who combines administrative excellence with the wish to maximise the potential of others.
You will provide the day-to-day administrative and coordination support that keeps the GA's work with congregations, ministers, and members running smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for many people who engage with the GA, and your ability to connect - to listen, to follow through, and to make people feel empowered, inspired, and part of something that matters - will shape their experience of the organisation.
We think of this role as needing three things in equal measure: people skills, administrative excellence, and organisational ability. Plenty of people are strong on one or two. We're looking for someone who ideally brings all three but we appreciate that's a bit of a unicorn, so please don't let that put you off applying.
What you’ll be doing
- Congregational and membership administration - Serve as a first point of contact for enquiries, maintain accurate membership records, and support engagement across our wider community.
- Congregational support toolkit - Coordinate the production and publication of guidance materials, and host online meetings connecting community members with subject matter experts.
- Ministry and congregational support - Maintain key registers and records, coordinate the annual commitment-to-pay process, and triage our inbox with care and good judgement.
- Events support - Provide coordination support for the Annual Meeting and other GA events, working alongside our freelance events manager on registration, logistics, and communications.
See the attached job description for more details.
What core skills and experience you’ll have
Essential:
- Experience in an administrative or coordination role, ideally in a charity, membership body, or similar organisation
- Experience working with volunteers, congregations, or membership communities — and an understanding of what sustains them
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to hold multiple threads without losing sight of the people behind them
- Warm, clear written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
- Confidence hosting and facilitating online meetings
- Confidence with databases and digital tools, and willingness to develop Salesforce skills
Desirable:
- Familiarity with a CRM database (e.g. Salesforce, CiviCRM)
- Understanding of basic charity governance and administration
Please note: We've listed essentials and desirables in good faith, but we know no one is the finished article. If you bring the right values, approach, and most of the experience, we would love to hear from you.
