The Lead Support Worker is a vital member of the frontline team, leading our trauma informed, person centred specialist support work for people in Boaz accommodation who have had their asylum claims refused.
Our accommodation is for single adults, and is provided through shared housing. We know that housing is key for people who are facing homelessness after a negative asylum decision, and that a combination of accommodation, specialist support, and access to legal advice is an essential foundation for people who have often experienced significant trauma.
The Lead Support Worker will be the main contact for this area of our support work and will have their own case load of people living in Boaz accommodation (currently, this case load will be men who have had their asylum claims refused). The Lead Support Worker will provide line management to a Support Worker within the same project, while also integrating within our wider support team. We currently have 22 bed spaces for people who have been refused asylum, but we hope to increase this number in the months ahead. The post may line manage more than one Support Worker if the service expands in the future.
This role ensures that people who have been refused asylum are supported throughout their time in Boaz accommodation: from being referred, to moving into Boaz accommodation, to moving on from Boaz (our accommodation is temporary, and is usually provided for up to 12 months). Our holistic support model means that the support will vary per individual, however it will include offering legal support (in partnership with a local legal provider), access to healthcare, wellbeing, housing support, as well as other objectives set by the people we work with. This role will also help lead on our programme of wellbeing activities (Boaz Life), offering opportunities for people supported by Boaz.
As well as overseeing and providing support to individuals, the Lead Support Worker will also proactively build and maintain excellent external partner relationships, seeking out opportunities to benefit people living in Boaz accommodation.
We are looking for someone who can deliver a high quality, trauma informed and person centred service for the people we support. This will include proactively improving processes and paperwork to support the team and service delivery. The Lead Support Worker will need to be well organised and make effective use of time, striking the balance between line management and Lead responsibilities, face to face support, completing case notes, reports and other required documentation, whilst being flexible enough to accommodate changes in plans and priorities.
This role involves working with people who are often in very precarious situations and we are therefore looking for a Lead Support Worker who has high emotional intelligence, great communication skills, can build trusting relationships with people, and understands the journeys that people seeking asylum may have undertaken and the impact of destitution.

The Team Leader (Western Bay) will be responsible for ensuring that high quality, responsive and effective housing advice services are delivered across the Western Bay region, which includes Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend.
This post takes direct line management responsibility for all Housing Law Caseworkers who are delivering face-to-face housing advice services to the Western Bay region.Housing advice services are delivered by phone, through outreach based advice surgeries, and at county courts when housing possession cases are listed, offering specialist legal advice and support. Housing Advice Services are funded through the Welsh Government, the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) and local authority contracts.
The post holder will also be expected to undertake up to a maximum of 23 hours direct casework per week (to be agreed with the CHAS Lead) in order to make a delivery contribution, meet the LAA Supervisor Standard and maintain casework expertise.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity in our Communications & Engagement directorate, where you'll play a key role in delivering impactful communications focused on our Dormant Assets funding in Northern Ireland.
In addition to National Lottery funding, The National Lottery Community Fund distributes funding through the Dormant Assets scheme. Dormant Assets funding in Northern Ireland supports community organisations to become more sustainable and resilient, strengthening areas such as governance, digital capability and organisational development.
Background on Dormant Assets NI
In addition to being a distributor of National Lottery funding, The National Lottery Community Fund distributes money released for social purpose as laid out in the Dormant Bank and Building Society Accounts Act 2008 and the Dormant Assets Act 2022.
This legislation enables funds from dormant bank accounts and other financial products to be channelled towards good causes in the United Kingdom through an independent body called the Reclaim Fund.
Funds are distributed to The National Lottery Community Fund, which in turn makes them available for good causes in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each devolved administration issues policy directions on how these funds are to be used.
The policy directions issued by the Department of Finance in September 2019 directed The National Lottery Community Fund to establish Dormant Assets NI to build capacity, resilience and sustainability in the third sector across Northern Ireland.
Responsibilities
Working within the Communications Strategy team, you’ll lead communications activity for Dormant Assets NI. You will focus on raising awareness of the programme, engaging with organisations and sector networks, and sharing learning and impact through a range of channels.
The role combines proactive communications, relationship building, and close working with Policy and Engagement colleagues to support meaningful engagement with the voluntary and community sector. Responsibilities will include:

You are a confident and engaging communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
You enjoy building relationships and working with a wide range of people and organisations.
You may already have experience working with, or communicating with, the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, or be keen to deepen your understanding of the sector and the context in which it operates in Northern Ireland.
You can plan and deliver communications activity using a variety of channels and adapt your approach to suit different audiences.
You are organised and proactive, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
You are collaborative, approachable and motivated by supporting the work of organisations that contribute to stronger communities.

Salary: £36,900-41,000 per annum + £3,500 London Weighting Allowance if applicable
Contract:Permanent, full-time (35h per week)
Based:Hybrid London. You will work 2 days a week in the Embassy Gardens office in London.
We can also consider home-based working with the expectation for occasional travel to the office for candidates living beyond a commutable distance to London.
