The Role

In this role, you will support the Director of Finance in providing a proactive, efficient, and highly effective finance service across the Diocesan board of finance and trust custodian company, as well as supporting the larger finance team who look after the Board of Education.

The role will include taking ownership of the budget and forecast for Board, running the month-end and reporting process and interacting with Heads of Department and key Diocese clergy in helping to run their day-to-day operations.  The role will also take the lead in managing the tax and statutory reporting, and appropriate training assistance will be made available as required.

You will play a key role within a Finance department totalling 9 staff.  The team have been through a time of change, including the introduction of a system 3 years ago that still requires some input to ensure it is being maximised in usefulness.

Are you a payroll professional who loves precision, thrives on responsibility, and enjoys making a real difference behind the scenes? North Hampshire Urgent Care (NHUC) is looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Payroll & Pensions Officer to join our friendly Finance Team in a part‑time role.

Working as part of a supportive job‑share, you’ll help deliver a smooth, accurate monthly payroll for around 275 employees, support GP contractor payments, and ensure compliance with NHS Pension Scheme requirements. Your work will directly support our Same Day Care, TalkPlus and Head Office teams - the people delivering vital care to our communities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Undertake the following tasks in relation to the monthly payroll process with the support of the Finance Team as required.

• Update employee tax code changes as advised by HMRC.
• Update the Sage 50 payroll system for changes in respect of Same Day Care employees. This includes starters, leavers, changes in pay rates, personal details etc.
• Process extra hours claims and variations as advised by the HR team
• Update salaried staff Same Day Care RotaMaster schedules for any changes, prepare import schedule and import pay data into Sage 50 payroll.
• Review, retrieve and reconcile pay data from RotaMaster (RM) and import Same Day Care pay data into Sage 50 Payroll.
• Check and reconcile payroll data and produce associated reports
• Issue payslips to North Hampshire Urgent Care staff and monthly and annual Earnings Reports to self-employed GPs
• Process Same Day Care leavers and distribute any related documentation
• Submit North Hampshire Urgent Care staff FPS and EPS to HMRC
• Process North Hampshire Urgent Care staff Net Payments to Bank
• Reconcile and pay North Hampshire Urgent Care staff PAYE
• Reconcile Government Gateway account for North Hampshire Urgent Care staff

• Support the Head of People and Development with the delivery and implementation of the internal People Strategy (specifically focusing on refining recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes, as well as providing support with grant reporting and budgeting requirements for funders)

• Manage day-to-day operations across the organisation, including onboarding new staff, supporting HR processes, coordinating office management and equipment setup, liaising with IT support providers, arranging organisation-wide cyber security training, and ensuring the smooth running of operational processes while identifying areas for improvement

• Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and the Head of Development and People to align financial and development goals

• Identify ways to enhance operational processes to support the growth of the organisation.

• Support the Engine Room team to establish effective organisational systems, routines and operational processes that support collaborative, person-centred and efficient ways of working across the organisation.

You will be an experienced Payroll professional able to work with limited supervision and support.

You will be working with our employee records on the payroll system, which includes sickness and our EAP programme, as well as regular reconciliation of PAYE, NIC, pension, Student Loan, Tax Credits and any other payroll deductions and credits paid over to HM Revenue & Customs and other institutions. You will prepare all statutory returns and forms for all payrolls including RTI returns and FPS/EPS returns as well as the of year end procedure on Sage and producing and issuing P60s.

Remuneration for this role will be up to £44,956. There will be a four-month probationary period. The post holder will be eligible for a bonus every year and free lunch in College on working days. The Deputy Director (Operations & Finance) is a new position in the organisation that will lead the day-to-day running of the organisation, bringing together operations, HR, governance, finance oversight and property management under clear, reliable leadership. Working closely with the Director and deputising in their absence, you will line-manage teams across finance, buildings, studios and administration, and act as Company Secretary to the Board of Trustees.

You don't need to come from the arts sector, but you do need to be operationally excellent, values-driven, and genuinely excited by what TBFAF is becoming. We are looking for someone with strong experience running operations in a small organisation, solid understanding of governance and finance, confidence managing teams, and the breadth to hold a wide remit without dropping the ball.Experience in property or facilities management, HR management, and familiarity with fundraising applications are all desirable, alongside arts, charity, or cultural sector experience and experience working with Boards of Trustees.

Who we are

In 18 years, we have established more than 360 partnerships across the UK with a common aim: to empower local communities to develop evidence-based strategies to tackle underage drinking.

Using a tried and tested model to tackle underage drinking and provide positive alternative activities for children, Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) supports local partnerships of councils, police, retailers, schools and health providers to reduce the problems associated with underage drinking both for individuals and communities.

About the role

We are looking for a part-time Finance & Governance Manager who will play a key part in a small, close-knit head team. The successful candidate will need to be both hands-on and collaborative, working closely with the head office team, supporting our eight regional advisers, and supporting the Board on finance and governance updates.

This role would suit someone who:

• Is technically strong in finance but comfortable working in a small, agile environment.
• Enjoys combining finance with governance and organisational support.
• Is hands-on, detail-oriented and proactive.
• Takes pride in clear, professional presentation of financial information.
• Is comfortable as an integral part of a small team rather than operating at arm’s length.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager with a health research charity on a part-time (0.6 FTE), permanent basis. As Finance Manager, you will play a leading, hands-on role in running the organisation’s core finance operations, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and effective support to teams across the organisation. As Finance Manager, you will:

- Lead and oversee the organisation’s core finance operations (accounts payables, receivables, bank accounts, cards and other elements) ensuring financial data and transactions are processed accurately and on time

- Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, forecasts and other reports as necessary for the Trustees, CEO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and internal teams

- Assist the Director of Finance & Resources with annual planning and budgeting

- Support the Director of Finance & Resources in improvements to finance processes, reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets and ad-hoc workarounds

- Support the transition from outsourced to insourced finances and services during the implementation phase

- Line-manage and support the Finance Officer

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be a part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc)

- Have significant experience and confidence in managing a full range of finance operations in a small or medium sized charitable organisation

- Have excellent knowledge of UK charity SORP and regulatory reporting requirements

- Be highly experienced in all aspects of Xero cloud-based accounting system, especially reporting

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Eight Quaker charities in London are merging at the end of 2026.

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to support the merger, and - as a key member of the Management Team - ensure QiL’s success.  As Senior Finance Manager, you will ensure regulatory compliance, support strategic decision-making, provide professional oversight of income, expenditure, and investments, advise trustees and support the long-term sustainability of QiL and the effective functioning of Local Meetings (LMs). 

You do not need to be a Quaker, or to have previous experience of Quaker structures, to apply. The Berkshire and Hampshire Borders (BHB) Methodist Circuit is a network of twenty-five churches across western Berkshire and northern Hampshire, united by a vision to proclaim God's love as a justice-seeking community. As Operations Manager, you'll be the backbone supporting our work. Working with the Leadership Team, you'll coordinate the operational infrastructure that keeps twenty-five autonomous churches running — from property and finance to safeguarding and compliance — empowering churches and outreach staff to deliver high-quality support to church members and vulnerable people.

The Role
You'll provide operational guidance and support to the Circuit Leadership Team and Circuit Meeting (Trustees), attending meetings and preparing reports on governance matters. You'll manage the Circuit Finance Officer, ensuring sound accounting practices, financial controls, and reporting. Across property, you'll oversee 19 houses — coordinating quinquennial inspections, maintenance plans, manse preparation for incoming ministers, externally managed letting of surplus properties, and professional appointments for sales and purchases. You'll also support energy and telecoms contract negotiations.

In safeguarding, you'll co-lead the Circuit Safeguarding Team, coordinate training, and maintain records of DBS checks. For health and safety, you'll guide churches on policies, risk assessments, and fire safety, with professional support as needed. On EDI, you'll maintain awareness of Methodist policy, coordinate training, and promote inclusive practice. You'll line manage the Administration Finance Officer and Administration Officer.

Key Details
Permanent role, £45,000–£55,000, 37.5 hours per week based in Reading, Berkshire with occasional evening or weekend working and travel across the area. 33 days annual leave including public holidays, contributory pension, reasonable expenses reimbursed plus a training funded. You've supported multiple stakeholders — staff, volunteers, or committees and have familiarity with safeguarding, health and safety, or compliance. You hold a full driving licence with access to a reliable vehicle and are willing to travel. Desirably, you have a relevant qualification, experience with financial administration or property management, and understanding of Methodist Church structures.
