The governance and policy manager is a senior strategic and operational role responsible for leading, coordinating, and strengthening all governance-related functions across World Physiotherapy. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role ensures the organisation consistently meets the highest standards of governance, compliance, transparency, and accountability, in line with its global mission and constitutional framework.
The postholder serves as a key advisor to the CEO, board, and leadership structures, ensuring governance systems are robust, efficient, and appropriate for an international membership organisation. The role works closely with member organisations (MOs), regions, and speciality groups to enhance governance practices, ensure policy alignment, and support coherent decision-making across the global network.
The role also contributes to organisational direction by actively participating in the development and implementation of the World Physiotherapy strategic plan and supporting alignment with regional and other strategic plans.
1. Governance leadership and oversight
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee all governance functions and activities across World Physiotherapy.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the constitution, bylaws, policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Regularly review and update governance frameworks, systems, and processes to align with international best practices.
- Provide authoritative advice and interpretation on governance matters to the CEO, board, and leadership structures.
- Develop and implement governance improvement initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness and accountability.
- Work collaboratively with the World Physiotherapy development and membership divisions to ensure organisational cohesion and effective delivery of the global mission.
2. Board and executive support
- Support and coordinate the development of high-quality board papers, briefings, and decision-support materials.
- Support the full lifecycle of board meetings, including agenda setting, documentation, logistics, and action tracking.
- Ensure timely circulation of clear, accurate, and structured information to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain and manage official governance records, including minutes, resolutions, and statutory documentation.

3. General meeting (GM) management
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver all World Physiotherapy global and regional general meetings in accordance with constitutional requirements.
- Develop and manage timelines for GM preparation, including submission, review, and distribution of papers.
- Oversee the drafting and quality assurance of reports, motions, and official documentation.
- Ensure accurate recording of proceedings, decisions, and outcomes.

4. Regional elections coordination

- Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the World Physiotherapy strategic plan.
- Support alignment between global strategy and regional and other relevant strategic plans.

7. Support to member organisations, regions, and specialty groups
- Provide expert governance and policy advice to MOs, regions, and speciality groups.

8. Stakeholder engagement and communication
- Act as a central liaison on governance matters between the CEO, board, committees, and membership.

- Work closely with the communications and marketing team for the delivery of all key communications.
9. Continuous improvement and risk management
- Identify governance risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Person specification
Education and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law, public administration, governance, business administration, international relations, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification (eg master’s degree) in governance, public policy, law, MBA, or related discipline (desirable).
- Professional certification in governance, compliance, or company secretariat (eg Chartered Governance Institute or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in governance or non-profit management.
Essential experience and skills
- Extensive experience in governance, policy, or organisational management, preferably in an international or membership-based organisation.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit governance frameworks and best practices.

Brief role description

Working closely with the Director of Veterans and Families Employment, the Programme Manager drives operational excellence, strengthens service consistency across the UK, and represents the charity’s employment offer in the devolved nations. They ensure that our national network of Advisors is supported, empowered, and aligned to strategic goals, enabling the very best outcomes for the veteran community.
It’s essential that they have experience managing multi-site or national teams, alongside a strong understanding of employment support or careers guidance. ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of RLSS UK’s new corporate fundraising function, create a sustainable strategy, and build a strong pipeline from the ground up.
You will identify, secure, and grow high-value partnerships that align with corporate priorities, producing compelling and commercially compelling propositions that demonstrate clear mutual benefit. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will ensure partnerships support RLSS UK’s mission and contribute to long term income growth.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Planning
- Develop and deliver RLSS UK’s first corporate partnerships strategy, setting clear priorities and income targets for year one and beyond.
- Lead the development of a corporate partnerships income stream, building a sustainable portfolio of partnerships and relationships.
- Create the foundations for growth including a case for support, stewardship framework, pitch decks and templates and KPI and reporting tools.
- Establish systems and internal processes required for a corporate fundraising function.
- Use sector insights, benchmarking, and data to inform strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
Partnership Development
- Build and actively manage a new business pipeline from scratch, ensuring consistent prospecting and follow up.
- Conduct in-depth prospect research to identify target companies, align commercial priorities, and map key decision makers.
- Develop compelling, tailored proposals, pitches, and partnership packages that clearly articulate impact and mutual value.
- Secure a diverse portfolio of partnerships including multi-year strategic, six-figure, Charity of the Year, cause-related marketing, and sponsorship agreements.

Reporting and Evaluation

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Programme Manager to lead delivery of Believe in Climate Action (BELIEVE), an ambitious national initiative at the intersection of climate action, youth leadership and community engagement (3 days per week). This role will also support the delivery of the UN Award winning ParliaMentors project, providing mentoring, training and leadership development opportunities to students across the country, and maintaining strong relationships with University partners (2 days per week).

BELIEVE in Climate Action (BELIEVE) is an ambitious and innovative national programme led by the Faith & Belief Forum in partnership with the Cambridge Interfaith Programme. Together, we are building a bold new model for climate action, one that connects grassroots communities, young leaders, researchers and policymakers through collaboration, co-learning and shared purpose.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead a pioneering, cross-sector initiative that is reshaping how climate action happens in England. Key Responsibilities
Programme leadership & delivery
· Lead the strategic and operational delivery of BELIEVE across its three interlinked workstreams

Person Specification
Essential Experience
· Significant experience managing complex, multi-partner programmes (ideally national or multi-regional)
· Demonstrable expertise in stakeholder engagement at a senior level, including building and maintaining strong partnerships across sectors
· Strong track record of delivering complex programmes on time and within budget
· Confidence and proven experience in line management (this role will line manage 1 Project Coordinator, and oversee an internship programme of up to 8 paid interns per year)

The Marketing & Communications Officer will play a key role in raising the profile of Artsreach. By immersing yourself in our communities, our programme and the stories behind our work, you will create compelling content and build narratives that effectively communicate who we are and the impact we make to audiences, artists, funders and partners.
You will lead the planning and delivery of audience‑focused marketing and communications activity that increases awareness and strengthens engagement. Job purpose
We are seeking a collaborative and experienced Project Manager with an applied understanding of quality improvement and evidence-based methodologies. This is a hands-on role for a team-player who combines project management with direct delivery. Our programme portfolio spans contextualised care, national audits, registries, antimicrobial stewardship and sustainability.
You will play a crucial role in delivering this portfolio, coordinating partners, ensuring high-quality outputs and supporting the development of new resources, research and sector-facing activities. You will provide team management whilst ensuring the smooth running of complex workstreams, from planning through to evaluation.
Key responsibilities
Integration & Improvement
- Contribute to the development of and delivery of processes and shared frameworks and a joined-up approach across key RCVS Knowledge initiatives relating to improving quality.
- Support implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL/MEAL) mechanisms to assess programme outcomes.
- Manage procurement, negotiation, and delivery of work with external partners and contractors.

- Develop, manage and maintain project documentation, including project initiation documents, project plans, schedules, risk and issue log and resource plans, to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.
