West Sussex Parent Carer Forum (WSPCF) is an independent organisation for the parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).  We support parent carers by providing information, signposting, and training that equips them in their lifelong caring role and empowers them to participate in shaping services for their children and young people.  WSPCF is hosted by local Sussex based charity Amaze. 

About the job

This is a great opportunity for a proactive and passionate person who lives in the mid/north of the county to empower and amplify the voices of parent carers across West Sussex. You will help deliver events and activities, encourage parent carers to get involved, especially those whose voices are less often heard, and provide friendly, accessible information and signposting to families. You will be a ‘people-person’ with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and able to plan and prioritise your own work.

 This is a part‑time, flexible, hybrid role where lived experience really matters.

Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a committed individual who has experience processing accounts. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure that all purchase invoices are authorised correctly and paid efficiently to the society and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure purchase ledger incoming mail and emails are dealt with on a daily basis;
• Responsible for authorising all purchase ledger invoices;
• Process on the accounting system for all transactions within agreed SLA’s;
• Support the month-end close process including and not limited to the accrual and prepayment process.
• Support and collaborate with the internal users of the purchase to pay (P2P) process to ensure queries are dealt with on a timely basis.
• Payment to suppliers on time;
• Reviewing transactions in the nominal ledger to ensure completeness and to answer queries.

You'll also help our Delivery Partners and volunteers do the same, both in person and virtually through our trusty MS Teams. When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.

Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) Level 2 Casework Adviser 

We are looking for a Level 2 IAA Level 2 Casework Adviser who believes in making a  difference in the lives of vulnerable migrants by advocating for fairness and compassion in  immigration processes. 

Shropshire Supports Refugees (SSR) is a charity dedicated to supporting refugees and  marginalised migrants who have come to live in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. 

Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive community by offering practical help,  resources and emotional support to those in need. With a staff team of twelve and seventy  dedicated volunteers, we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those we  serve. 

As part of our workforce, you will work with marginalised adults and families, providing  advice to guide them through complex immigration journeys with empathy and  professionalism. Thus, you will play a critical role in helping people find hope and stability in the very challenging environment of being a migrant in the UK. 

Job description: 

Location: Shrewsbury and locations around Shropshire, Telford and 

Wrekin Hours: 37.5 hrs per week 

Reports to: co-CEO - Projects & Developments 

Salary: £33,990 - 2 yr. fixed term contract 

This salary is above the normal salary for this role because we want to attract a special person who can fully meet the job description below.

Main Responsibilities: 

Providing comprehensive immigration advice: on various immigration matters, including  visa applications, settlement, asylum claims, and appeals within IAA Level 2 guidelines. 

Conduct or delegate initial and further consultations with clients to assess their immigration  advice eligibility and specific needs. 

Finding and managing caseload: by setting up a triaging and appointments system for  proactively identifying refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants, including people here 

under the Home Office Homes for Ukraine Scheme and related extension scheme, needing  Level 1 or 2 immigration advice throughout Shropshire Telford and Wrekin.

This will include inviting people to our offices in Shrewsbury and to outreach sessions across  Shropshire Telford and Wrekin and will require you to set and stay within meaningful 

deadlines. 

Maintain accurate records: by handling multiple cases efficiently and recording all client  contacts, reflecting the advice given and outcome for each person. 

Keep up-to-date with changes in immigration law: via professional training and standards  and changes to those standards. 

Supervise and train: our Level 1 adviser, other colleagues and relevant volunteers. 

Collaborate: with colleagues, volunteers and representatives of partner organizations to  ensure the immigration and other advice needs of clients are effectively met. 

These responsibilities will require you to: 

● Maintain accurate and detailed records and case files, with due regard to data protection law and professional standards. 

● Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. 

● Advocate on behalf of clients by communication with appropriate agencies, by telephone, letter and email. 

● Attend training events relating to asylum and immigration. 

● Actively engage in seeking work and promoting good governance within SSR. ● Ensure that clients’ need for other services and referrals, including safeguarding, are effectively met by discussion with colleagues and 

reporting to partner agencies. 

● Report all challenges outside of your remit or skills to the Deputy CEO. Undertake other tasks as required within our charity, to support its efficient operation. 

Person Specification: 

Essential: 

● IAA Level 2 accreditation - held for at least 12 months 

● Significant experience working as an Immigration Adviser or similar role

● In-depth knowledge of IAA standards, UK immigration law, relevant related policies,  and procedures 

● Exceptional and written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the  ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds 

● Empathy and compassion, particularly with SSR’s cause 

● Strong, self-directed time management with the ability to manage multiple cases and  work to strict deadlines. 

● Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively 

● Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and partner  organisations to ensure the safety and fair treatment of clients 

● Knowledge and understanding of the charity and voluntary sector 

● Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills 

● Proficiency in Google and Microsoft 

● Full driving licence

Desirable: 

● Fluency in at least one language other than English

As Community Support Worker you will play a vital role in supporting the Project Manager as well as mentors and mentees in the community to encourage a young man make positive connections to enable him to desist from re-offending and give him a sense of hope for the future.

This will involve:

· Visiting the prison to meet mentees and mentors before release and assisting in development of initial three-month plan.

· Assess what support the mentee has in the community (include family, partners) and what additional support is needed.

· Research what services and agencies are available in the area. Identify relevant services (including probation services) to establish and build working relationships with, especially those who can offer Education, Training and Employment opportunities for the mentees.

· Ensure mentee and mentor needs are being met in the community and supportive measures are in place.

· Facilitating and supporting the mentoring relationship within the community when the mentee is released (through the gate) attending housing, probation, job centre appointments when required; being their advocate for making a claim for benefits; attending DWP appointments; accessing drug and alcohol services etc.

· Support mentors in helping mentees improve social skills, daily living skills, such as shopping, cleaning, self-care – find services that can offer additional support to the mentee/mentor.

· Attend and participate in meetings regarding the successful rehabilitation of prisoners

· Provide support to mentors in the community.

· Support the Project Manager with recruitment and training of new volunteers when required.

Person Specification

Essential experience and Knowledge required:

Our family women refuge's offer holistic support in order to empower women and their children who have experienced trauma to lead their recovery and gain the skills and confidence to move on safely. The Team Manager is responsible for the operational running and strategic direction of the refuge. Providing line management and leadership to the staff team, leading on contract and compliance and the safety, security and maintenance of the refuge, ensuring that the building aligns with our PIPE (Psychologically Informed Physical Environment) building standards and rental income is secured. 

The Team Manager plays a central role in ensuring the refuge is a safe, trauma-informed, and welcoming space for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. They promote an inclusive, anti-racist, and feminist approach while upholding Hestia's values of respect, dedication, and collaboration. Core responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day service delivery, ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols, and facilitating the safe transition of service users. The manager ensures the team delivers high-quality, person-centred support, particularly for individuals with complex or intersectional needs.

In terms of operational and building management, the Team Manager is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the refuge in line with health and safety and PIPE (Psychologically Informed Physical Environment) standards. This includes managing relationships with landlords and housing teams, authorising repairs, handling rent collection and arrears, and addressing any security concerns. They also oversee the accurate and timely turnaround of vacant units and uphold positive community relations to ensure the refuge remains a secure and respected environment.

The role also involves leading and developing a high-performing team, ensuring all staff are well-supported through supervision, reflective practice, and training opportunities. The manager upholds staffing levels, supports volunteers and students, and manages performance and conduct issues where necessary. Quality assurance and compliance duties include monitoring performance against KPIs, using systems like INFORM and Power BI, handling feedback and complaints, and ensuring financial accountability. They also represent Hestia in strategic planning, external networks, and multi-agency partnerships to strengthen service delivery and community integration.
