This is a really exciting time to join Children’s Hospices Across Scotland – better known as CHAS. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Challenge Events Assistant to join the fundraising team to play a key role in CHAS’ More Than a Hospice Appeal - an ambitious, once‑in‑a‑generation campaign to change the future of care for children who will die young.

Challenge events are some of the most exciting and fast-paced fundraising activities at CHAS – from running events and virtual challenges to adrenaline-fuelled experiences. This role is hands-on and varied. One day you might be supporting participants preparing for their first marathon, and the next you could be at an event pit stop, setting up, welcoming supporters, and keeping energy high throughout the day with a team of volunteers.

During event season, you’ll often be out and about, attending events, working occasional weekends, and being part of the buzz that comes with live events. At the same time, there’s a strong administrative and planning side – coordinating logistics, managing data, responding to supporter queries, and helping ensure every event runs smoothly behind the scenes. It’s a role for someone who enjoys being busy, can adapt quickly, and is just as comfortable with spreadsheets and emails as they are cheering participants across a finish line.

Key Responsibilities

Working within the culture, ethos and philosophy of CHAS, you will assist the Mass Participation Events Manager with the management and evaluation of challenge events and the recruitment and stewardship of supporters. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the management of in-person challenge events, including liaising with third party event organisers, suppliers and attendance on the day
• Assisting with the development of the virtual events programme, stewarding participants through social media and answering queries
• Producing copy to promote events for website, social media, press and email
• Assisting with the recruitment of supporters for events in the challenge event calendar, and stewarding them to raise as much as possible for CHAS
• Assisting with event research
• Administration

About You

In order to help CHAS achieve our goal of reaching every family in Scotland that needs us, you will have:

• Experience of fundraising / events or HNC level qualification (or equivalent) in either Public Relations, Marketing, Media, Communications, Event Management, Fundraising or related discipline
• Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar packages
• Demonstrable experience of keyboard skills and maintaining information databases
• Good communication skills to deal with staff, volunteers and general public in an appropriate and effective manner
• Competent on social media
• High level of accuracy and numeracy skills, as this role requires cash handling
• Demonstrable attention to detail
• Planning and organising skills for effective management of event calendar
• Experience in an office and customer services environment
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle

The Training Manager at Grow is a pivotal role responsible for the design, delivery, and strategic growth of Grow’s youth employability programmes. About the role

The Research and Projects Assistant is a new role supporting EFN’s strategic projects and research, and would suit someone looking to build their experience in these areas. Senior Admin Officer

• Contract: Part-time, 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with the Angelou Centre to recruit for a Senior Admin Officer.
This is a pivotal leadership role within a respected, Black-led organisation supporting Black and racialised women and children affected by domestic abuse and other forms of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The Senior Admin Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the organisation operates effectively, safely and in full compliance, overseeing administration, HR systems, governance and facilities.

About the charity
For over 30 years, the Angelou Centre has stood alongside Black and racialised women and children in Newcastle. The organisation delivers trauma-informed, culturally responsive services that support recovery from violence, abuse and discrimination, helping people rebuild safety, confidence and independence. The Centre is rooted in anti-racist, Black feminist values and survivor-centred practice.

About the role
The Senior Admin Officer is responsible for leading and strengthening the organisation's operational infrastructure. This includes oversight of administration, compliance, HR processes, governance, and facilities management.
You will work closely with the Executive Director to design and embed effective systems, improve processes, and support organisational growth. This is a strategic and hands-on role requiring excellent organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities
Operations & administration

• Lead and continuously improve administrative systems, processes, and record-keeping
• Oversee facilities management, including health and safety and building compliance
• Manage supplier relationships and service contracts
• Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (Charity Commission, Companies House, safeguarding and employment law)
• Lead on GDPR compliance and data protection across the organisation
• Oversee IT systems and infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure working

HR & people management

• Oversee HR systems and processes, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practice
• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategy
• Lead recruitment, induction, appraisal, and performance management processes
• Support staff development, learning and wellbeing initiatives
• Embed equality, diversity and inclusion across all people management practices
• Monitor HR metrics and provide regular reports to senior leadership

Leadership & governance

• Support governance processes, including Board administration and policy reviews
• Maintain risk registers and ensure effective compliance frameworks
• Prepare reports for the Executive Director and Board of Trustees
• Support trustee recruitment, onboarding and development
• Represent the organisation externally where required

About you

You will bring:

• Significant experience in a senior administrative, operations or office management role
• Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law, GDPR, and organisational compliance
• Proven experience of managing systems, processes, and multi-functional operations
• Excellent organisational, project management and problem-solving skills
• Experience of leading or supporting people management processes
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
• A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on delivery and oversight

Desirable experience includes:

• Experience within the charity or voluntary sector
• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience
• Experience in governance, Board support or risk management
• Financial administration or budget oversight

We are seeking an engaging and collaborative lead to design and deliver a sector-leading national capacity building programme while supporting the development of regional/ place-based ecosystems able to advance and grow equality impact investing.

You will work directly with investors and grant makers to embed EII in strategy, policy and practice and help pioneer a new generation of collaborative place-based initiatives that connect frontline equality organisations needs and ideas with investors and philanthropists.

Key to this role will be both generating, and capturing, cutting edge ideas and practical approaches, ensuring different parts of the equality impact investing movement share, and benefit from, others learning.

You will be skilled in training, facilitation and capability building, with the ability to translate systems thinking into practical guidance others can use. Excellent relationship-building skills, the ability to co-create and co-deliver with a wide range of stakeholders, and an understanding of equality and social justice will be essential.

EIIP believes that tackling inequality requires transforming how capital flows through society. We are now entering a critical phase of growth, with a focus on delivering systemic change at scale.

That means changing not only where money goes, but also who shapes decisions, whose voices are heard and what outcomes are prioritised. You will play a central role in building the capacity of investors and grant givers – and creating delivery systems to effect this change.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)

Location: The Gaia Centre (Lambeth, London)
Salary: £23,085.69 per annum (Inclusive of London Weighting, which may not be applicable depending on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement)

Contract type: Part Time, Permanent 

Hours: 30 hours per week. As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota. Operating hours of the service 8am- 6pm Monday- Friday with the expectation to work on some days 8- 4pm or 10- 6pm to cover duty shifts.

We are recruiting for a Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) who will be working closely with survivors of domestic, and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support, guidance and advice to survivors across all risk levels and their children.

In this role the Duty IGVA is a part of a busy team. The Duty IGVA will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre by other professionals. The Duty IGVA also will be responsible for processing any self-referrals of individuals contacting the service and wishing to access support. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for responding to daily enquiries from partnership agencies, public and impacted individuals over the phone and email.

In some circumstances the Duty IGVA will be contacting survivors directly to assess their level of risk and needs to ensure eligibility. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs assessments. The Duty IGVA will ensure an effective handover of the case to the relevant team for ongoing support.

The Duty IGVA will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The Duty IGVA will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety. The jobalso  involves working in a fast-paced environment.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
