About the role:

The Head of Board of Trustees (BoT) Affair holds a strategic and operational governance role, providing senior-level support to the Board and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and constitutional responsibilities. In addition, The Head of BoT Affairs facilitates effective communication between trustees and the executive leadership team and advises on strengthening governance structures and practices and is responsible for maintaining high standards of governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic advice across all levels of the organisation

The role operates with significant autonomy, requiring independent initiative and workload planning and the ability to coordinate with other departments in IRW and various board’s stakeholders to ensure effective compliance, risk management and communication.

About you:

You will be a motivated, analytical professional with a strong experience in governance and a commitment to IRW’s mission and values.

You will ideally have:

• Governance or legal qualifications (e.g., Chartered Governance Institute or similar).
• Proven experience in board or executive-level administration, legal secretary, or governance role.
• Strong understanding of governance processes, preferably in the charity or third sector.
• Understanding of Charity Commission requirements.
• Exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
• High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hybrid meeting technologies.

About this job

The Head of Experience is a senior cross-organisational leadership role building and leading a new Experience function at the heart of the Engagement and Income Generation directorate.

It exists to change how the organisation understands and responds to the people it exists for. That means identifying where experiences can be improved and creating the conditions to act on it.

The postholder will drive cross-functional collaboration so that audience insight and data consistently inform strategic decisions. They will create the systems and governance that turn insight into action across the breadth of MS experience.

The postholder is accountable for driving measurable improvements in how audiences experience every interaction with us. This builds the conditions for integrated, audience-led engagement at scale, in service of delivering greater impact and sustainable income.

Purpose of the role 

In 2027 we will host our prestigious Global Congress. Held every four years, Congress convenes eminent leaders invested in global consumer rights and empowerment. This includes the heads of the leading consumer advocacy organisations, ministers and senior government representatives, leaders in civil society, executives at top businesses, prominent academics, and visionaries from philanthropic and international institutions. 

Congress is critical to the mission of Consumers International. It is crucial for our governance, as the basis for our General Assembly, where our Membership elects the governing Council of Consumers International. Around this procedural milestone, we structure a participatory, diverse and unique programme that is designed to build and advance the future of consumer rights advocacy worldwide. Our last Congress brought together over 600 participants, including more than 100 at C-suite level, and was a platform for releasing new insight and announcing major partnerships. It featured over 30 interactive sessions taking place over three days in person and online, with extremely high satisfaction and feedback ratings from participants.

To drive forward our planning and delivery for our next Congress in 2027, we are looking for an exceptional Lead, Flagship Events. This person will be the organisational lynchpin for Congress, working directly with our Leadership Team at Consumers International to produce and execute a clear event plan according to ambitious milestones and key performance indicators. 

The Lead will project manage and mobilise the wider Consumers International team to deliver the 2027 Congress, building a relationship with the host government and playing an essential part in producing a dynamic event that excites and inspires attendees. The Lead will bring strong leadership, coordination and project management skills to the role. They will have best-in-class relationship building and negotiation skills, experience dealing with senior stakeholders, and will have delivered major impactful events in the past. 
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to produce a unique and significant event for the global consumers rights movement. For a taster of our past summits see our 2023 Congress (Kenya) and 2019 Summit (Portugal). 

Key Responsibilities 

Project Management  

• Develop and drive delivery of a comprehensive Congress project plan with clear milestones, dependencies and performance indicators 

• Lead execution of the project plan, ensuring and mobilising the team to exert discipline against deadlines, priorities and organisational goals 

• Manage the Congress budget, including oversight of host government allocations and financial reporting   

• Co-ordinate the wider Consumers International team around Congress delivery, ensuring clear ownership, accountability and decision-making across workstreams 

• Monitor and report on progress against key milestones, risks, participant targets and budget performance, escalating where needed

• Lead post-event evaluation and debrief, capturing insights and recommendations to strengthen future flagship events 

Relationship management and negotiation

• Manage a strong and trusted relationship with the host government, ensuring effective coordination and resolution of issues that arise 

• Lead negotiations and relationships with venues, suppliers and delivery partners to secure high-quality delivery within budget 

• Build and support leadership at Consumers International to establish trusted relationships with senior stakeholders participating in Congress, including across government, Members, sponsors, speakers and strategic partners 

Event logistics and delivery 

• Lead planning and oversight of major logistical components of Congress, including venue, accommodation, transport, catering, accessibility and interpretation to support a seamless participant experience 

• Lead onsite event management, troubleshooting and issue resolution during Congress delivery 

Event systems and governance 

• Oversee the implementation of systems and processes required for successful Congress delivery, including registration and reporting 

• Coordinate planning for the General Assembly and governance components of Congress, this includes supporting senior management at Consumers International to coordinate on voting processes, member participation and associated systems 

Participant experience and organisational leadership 

• Lead Congress planning discussions across the organisation, mobilising the team and ensuring strong communication, coordination and momentum across teams

• Help shape a dynamic, participatory, safe and inspiring Congress experience that reflects Consumers International’s ambition and global leadership 

• Work closely with Leadership Team to support delivery of a high-profile global event with significant reputational and strategic importance, including through the delivery of an impactful programme 

• Carry out additional responsibilities related to Congress delivery and organisational priorities as required

The Head of Operations manages the Area Manager Team with a broad yet detailed oversight on service delivery across all provisions. With an organisation-wide focus, you will work closely with colleagues who oversee Quality, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Development, HR and Finance.

The Head of Education Change leads Pillar 3: Education Change, the branch of REUK dedicated to systemic transformation. Currently, the UK education systems lack overarching policy frameworks to support the integration of refugee learners, and there are key evidence gaps in what works best in education for refugee children. School leaders and teachers want to help, but lack the needed training and support. Good practice is often hidden and the expertise of young refugees is not considered in policy making.

As the Head of Education Change, you will be responsible for bridging these gaps. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to influence national policies, improve educational practices, and ensure that the expertise of young refugees is at the heart of decision-making. Your remit will span research and policy, advocacy, youth leadership, and training/capacity building to ensure that the good practice currently hidden in pockets of the UK becomes the standard across the board. MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. Job Purpose

Remuneration

Context and Background

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children. Today, the NSPCC lobbies government on child welfare issues, leads national campaigns and offers front line service support for thousands of vulnerable children. We do this directly and through schools, local safeguarding children’s boards and others, offering support, advice and training.  Since 2006, we have run Childline, the telephone helpline and counselling service.

Beyond our front-line support services, campaigns and consulting provisions, we carry out a comprehensive programme of groundbreaking research.  With a core staff and thousands of nationwide volunteers, the NSPCC remains a central organisation in the fabric of British society, with the welfare, protection and prosperity of children at the centre of everything we do.

The Supporter Data Operations team is part of the Fundraising Operations team in the Engagement & Fundraising Directorate.

The team is responsible for donation processing, data processing, data quality, and user training and support. The team are also involved in delivery of our ongoing Supporter Centricity project, focussing on delivering Salesforce to maximise engagement as part of the wider programme.

The Associate Head of Supporter Data Operations leads and manages a varied team who work with stakeholders across Engagement and Fundraising, Technology, and Finance. The postholder is responsible for c20 office based and remote staff.

Job purpose 

· Strategic Development: Lead on recommendations to evolve teams, responsibilities and ways of working post Salesforce go live, ensuring that the NSPCC and our supporters benefit from the new technology.

Established in 2021, Opportunity Green is a fast-growing not-for-profit organisation that helps to identify and unlock opportunities to tackle climate change. We build ambitious coalitions, support climate vulnerable countries in international negotiations and find innovative legal pathways to fight climate change.

What’s the role?

The Development Director will work closely with the CEO and the Chief Strategy and Impact Officer (CSIO) on all of Opportunity Green’s fundraising. We are looking for someone who truly gets what OG is trying to achieve, who can pull strands of our work together and turn it into cohesive cross-cutting proposals that funders want to be part of. You will draft and write compelling concept notes and proposals – not just edit them.

To date, the CEO and CSIO have overseen all of Opportunity Green’s fundraising, with the assistance of a Project Officer. We have been hugely successful in our fundraising to date; testament to the extraordinary talent of our staff and the impact they can make. However, as we continue to rapidly scale as an organisation, now is the right time for a Director to add capacity and further expertise to our fundraising.

This role is essential in Opportunity Green’s expanding team and organisation. You will work closely with OG colleagues across the organisation to understand their work, assist the CEO and wider team in managing our current donors and develop ambitious, strategic and innovative funding partnerships with trusts and foundations. You will have a specific focus on grants at the £1m+ level and increasing the number of unrestricted grants. It is important to note that we believe the following will not be a large part of the role in the short to medium term:

1. Searching new prospects – while in time this could become part of the role, we have multiple prospects that we are not currently pursuing due solely to capacity constraints.

2. Institutional or corporate fundraising – while this is a large source of potential funding, we are not currently pursuing it, or looking to secure any institutional or corporate funding from the UK / EU etc.

3. Individual giving – while there is an overlap between High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and philanthropic trusts & foundations, developing a HNWI giving programme is not, for now, a large part of our strategy.

You’ll be the kind of person who sees connections, chases opportunities, gets out from behind your desk to meet people, and influences internally and externally to achieve results. You will be driven, determined, tenacious and focused on solutions. You will not be someone who simply comments on proposals and ensures funder timelines are met, instead you will co-develop the strategies and projects that we will pitch to potential funders.

The Development Director will be our first fulltime fundraising hire, with continued support from the current Project Officer. There is huge potential for the right candidate to grow this role, working directly with the CEO, and a longer-term potential to expand into a fundraising team over time. As the organisation grows (we have grown to 35 people with a turnover of £5m in almost five years, with no sign of slowing down!) it is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enabling Opportunity Green to achieve our ambitions and have an even greater impact. 

About the candidate

We are looking for a candidate with:

· A passion for using their fundraising skills to tackle climate change.

· Experience of philanthropic, not just institutional/corporate, fundraising in climate / environment / international development sector(s)

· Ability to, over time, understand Opportunity Green so well that they would be almost as comfortable in OG’s project teams as leading on OG’s fundraising.

Desirable skills and experience:

We do not expect any candidate to have all skills listed below but rather we look for transferable skills and potential as well as past experience. We are looking for someone who has:

· Excellent strategic relationship-building skills and proven ability to manage philanthropic donor income streams.

· Experience maximising opportunities and income with current and prospective donors by focusing on strengthening relationships and implementing creative engagement plans.

· Developed and secured new sources of income from trusts and foundations, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give £1m+ annually.

· Executed a fundraising strategy and develop a strong pipeline, managing a portfolio of current donors at the same time.

· Experience of managing the complexities of restricted income projects.

· Ability to understand diverse donor motivations and deliver a bespoke relationship to meet these. Demonstrable skill in adapting written and verbal communications for a philanthropy audience.

· Engaging presentation and writing skills for tailored presentations, proposals and grant reports for donors.

· Confidence in working with senior stakeholders internally and externally, using tact and diplomacy.

· Organised and methodical approach to plan and deliver against a varied workload, managing competing priorities under your own initiative and to strict deadlines.

· Be financially savvy and able to work with the finance team to ensure new proposals support a full-cost recovery approach.

What happens next?

We will review applications after closing date. Over the last few months, we have been receiving between 100-400 applications per role. Our small team cannot manage such high volumes without impacting the delivery of our work. If we receive a large volume of applications for this role, we reserve the right to part-review your application. This would include reviewing CVs first, looking for match with essential job requirements as stated above. Only pre-shortlisted candidates will have their full application reviewed.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview to discuss their experience and suitability for the role. After this, candidates that are most suitable for the vacancy will be invited for an in-person interview in our London office, for which there may also be a short task. Travel will be reimbursed for non-London-based applicants (within the UK) and for Belgium-based candidates.

Online interviews are likely to take place w/c 13th July. In person interviews will likely be shortly after this (w/c 20th July).
