We offer young women free coaching, feedback on job applications and information to help them get where they want to be. About the role
The Policy and Campaigns Lead is responsible for creating and delivering high-impact campaigns to build young women’s visibility, voice and power and achieve changes to policies, practices and attitudes which will bring about an equal world of work for young women.
You will play a critical part in delivering our 23-28 strategy, and will build Young Women’s Trust’s policy expertise and campaigning capability and our alliances with others who can support us to achieve our purpose.
You will bring a track record of leading campaigns which have demonstrably contributed to policy or other social change. You’ll be passionate about working with people with lived experience to develop policy solutions and campaigns, and will have the ability to build influential relationships and to represent Young Women’s Trust with a range of external audiences.
You’ll be joining the organisation at an exciting time. The Employment Rights Act, which has the potential to improve job security and strengthen rights at work for young women, has just been enacted and there are significant opportunities to influence its implementation to ensure it truly works for young women. Young Women’s Trust has seen a recent growth in our campaigning momentum and political relationships, and we have active networks of young women working alongside us to shape and deliver our campaigns. THE CHARITY
Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.
James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected. We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.
In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham, which will support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a new role in an expanding and dynamic organisation. It responds to our growing ambition to share what we have learned about suicide prevention and delivering services to men who are affected by inequalities.
We understand that for more men to be saved, we need others to take action too. And we need to make this case for change as compelling and impactful as possible to influence commissioners, NHS providers, or policy makers to save more men’s lives.
This role will involve leading the influencing strategy, building evidence-based policy positions, and executing powerful messaging to effectively demonstrate the impact of crisis intervention and the importance of extending this provision to more men across the country.
Overarching priorities
· To influence national and local systems leaders on the importance of rapid, equitable, accessible and tailored treatment and support for acutely suicidal men.
· To establish James’ Place as a leading and credible voice in innovative suicide prevention practice, reducing inequalities in access and in supporting men who other services aren’t reaching.
· To strengthen our evidence base and contribute insight and data to networks and partners who can grow its impact (such as organisations with larger influencing teams, media organisations, policy makers and think tanks).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
· Identify key actors and establish, lead and execute an influencing plan for the next 12 – 24 months, in line with the above priorities, emerging insight and changing contexts.
· Lead effective relationship and network building and management across charity, health and policy sectors.
· Adopt a holistic perspective with communications and fundraising colleagues, that is deeply informed by clinical practice and aligned with strategies for growth.
· Explore future partnerships to strengthen evidence base, impact and reach, with academics, think tanks, funders and policy makers
· Ensure James’ Place responds to emerging policy and influencing opportunities (such as men’s health, inequalities work, neighbourhoods, integrated health organisations, strategic commissioning and so on)
Delivery
· Represent James’ Place on external groups at parliamentary events and sector forums as appropriate, ensuring the charity’s position and the voices of men we treat are clearly and respectfully communicated.
· Monitor and respond to legislative and regulatory changes and lead consultation responses.
· Research and produce compelling policy briefings, consultation responses and evidence-based reports
· Champion accurate data collection, evaluation and insight across James’ Place, demonstrating how crucial this is for policy and influencing work externally.
· Fully brief and support the CEO and other senior leaders’ attendance at events, meetings and media work.
· Engage with researchers, evaluators and campaigners on what James’ Place knows and does so that they can represent and champion James’ Place effectively.
· Support senior colleagues to engage with the Board on matters of policy and influence.
· Undertake any other duties as required in pursuit of organisational success.
Charity-wide
· Work closely with services, clinical, fundraising and communication colleagues to deliver our strategy and business plans to meet our charitable objectives.
· Play a role across the whole organisation, offering support and demonstrating leadership across the charity, helping colleagues to grow and develop.
· Recognise the value of review and evaluation and contribute to the on-going development of James’ Place as a respected, effective and sustainable charity.
· Work with the team to build our understanding of men in suicidal crisis and how suicidal behaviour develops.
· Promote and demonstrate the highest level of safeguarding best practice.
· Deputise for senior colleagues and represent the organisation externally as and when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
· Extensive experience in policy and influencing work at a senior level on a social or health issue, including mental or physical health, equity, or social justice.
· A strong track record of building and maintaining external relationships across sectors: government, NHS, public services, charities, academia or think tanks; healthcare experience is highly desirable
· Substantial experience of preparing and submitting consultation documents, position statements and advocacy materials.
· Strong communication skills, in writing and in person.
· Experience of working with quantitative and qualitative research and researchers, work with data and insight to make credible and evidence-based arguments.

Role
The Programme Officer will manage day-to-day relationships with Degrees’ research groups based in the Latin America and Caribbean region, ensure smooth grant administration, and support regional events.
Key Responsibilites
Grantees
- Being the first point of contact for our grantees and stakeholders, including volunteer research collaborators.
- Supporting research teams to gain access to, for example, modelling data.
Grant management
- Grant management, including onboarding and ongoing administrative support for the grantees of the various research funds at Degrees.
- Processing payments.

Events
- Working closely with the Events Manager, other regional Programme Officers and Policy Engagement staff to organise international events, including regional workshops in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Administration

- Provide ad-hoc support as needed, for example, financial administrative support for grants and programmatic events, note-taking, organising travel, inputs to communications, working with Degrees’ senior management, board, volunteers, and partners.
Key relationships
- Within the Programmes team forge close working relations with Programmes Director, Programmes Manager, other Programme Officers, Events Manager, Staff Scientist and Scientific Writing and Publishing Lead.
- Develop strong working relations with colleagues from the following teams i) Operations, ii) Policy & Engagement and iii) Communications.
- Provide ongoing support for Degrees funded scientists based in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Qualifications
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter based in the UK, with experience in planning and running international events as well as academic workshops. As Degrees is still operating as a relatively small but growing team, the successful candidate will be flexible and motivated – prepared to turn their hand to whatever needs doing to deliver Degrees’ programme of work.

The organisation is an independent voice raising awareness and offering support to people affected by gambling-related harms. The ambition is for the network to be able to make a difference to people’s lives, with a voice that can meaningfully participate in and influence national debate and policy.
The Interim Chief Executive will provide immediate strategic leadership, visible system presence and lead internal organisational development, including an increase in staff capacity.
This is a time-bound leadership role focused on the immediate transition phase. The skills required to establish presence, build infrastructure and secure early system positioning are distinct from those needed to lead the charity over the longer term.

This role is offered on a secondment basis. The Deputy Regional SEND Leader will continue in their substantive role while contributing the equivalent of one day a week (40 days across the year) to Whole School SEND. This model enables leaders to bring current, real world expertise into the national programme while maintaining their ongoing responsibilities within their home organisation.

Qualifications
- Experience working with high‑net‑worth clients, building strong relationships and networks.

Purpose
At Citizens UK, our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. Main Responsibilities
We are looking for highly motivated and organised individual to coordinate our accreditation scheme. The role will work with our network of employers, and support new organisations through the accreditation process.
The Programme Officer will lead our work in Yorkshire and Humber support our Managers to grow and deepen engagement with Living Wage Employers through our associated schemes. You will help to ensure our resources and publicity materials are well written and up-to-date, and to coordinate events to grow our employer network.
Working as the Programme Officer for Citizens UK, reporting to a Programme Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
Contribute towards the achievement of CUK and LWF’s strategic objectives

Living Wage Accreditation:
Support key contacts at potential LW Employers through the accreditation process, from dealing with initial enquiries to guiding them through the employer journey, to checking and processing their accreditation.
Develop rewarding relationships with key employers, industry, and campaign partners within our networks to build interest in the Living Wage and deliver a high-quality experience to our accredited employers.
With support from the wider team, develop plans and strategies to grow the number of accreditations in specific regions or industries.
Collate and disseminate Living Wage criteria and policy issues through both internal and external facing guidance, whilst reviewing and monitoring its suitability.
Support the development and implementation of projects to promote and grow Living Wage accreditations and develop the quality of service offered.
Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively
Successfully progress projects and tasks incl. tracking performance and expenditure.
Deliver agreed areas of the LWF’s work plan and leading on agenda items to report into team meetings.
Support the growth and development of new and existing Living Wage schemes incl. Recognised Service Providers, LW Funders, LW Places, Living Hours, Global Living Wage and Living Work Consultancy.

The Influencing Project Manager will work as part of a flexible team to develop, lead and manage the stakeholder engagement, influencing and communications elements of the Volunteering for Health programme.
Volunteering for Health is a £10million learning programme focused on testing, building and growing healthcare volunteering infrastructure. The programme has invested in fifteen systems across England who are navigating complex health systems to ensure that volunteering is embedded as a system wide NHS asset.
