The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a newly shaped role following a restructure that has created space to further strengthen and grow our community fundraising programme. You will be working closely with the Head of Fundraising (C&E) to create and deliver a new community fundraising strategy, and will agree the key priorities for the role to ensure a clear and realistic focus for the contract period.
This is a 6-month contract role, created to provide immediate expertise and momentum during a period of change. There is scope to make the role permanent, subject to success and organisational needs.
As Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a central role in shaping a fundraising programme with lasting impact. You will take ownership of growing income, expanding supporter engagement, and building long-term relationships across the community.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth:
- Work with the Head of Fundraising (C&E) to develop and deliver a refreshed community fundraising strategy.
- Shape and implement plans to grow income, engagement and supporter involvement.
- Set clear income targets, KPIs and growth priorities.
- Develop a diverse and sustainable pipeline of community fundraising opportunities and supporters.
Supporter Engagement & Stewardship:
- Build strong supporter and volunteer relationships, delivering high-quality stewardship and supporter care to enhance journeys, maximise retention and grow long-term engagement.
Fundraising Delivery:
- Lead delivery of a range of community fundraising activities, including individual fundraising activities and challenges, in celebration and in memory fundraising.
- Identifying and developing new community fundraising opportunities.
- Create engaging campaigns and opportunities that attract new audiences and grow engagement with existing supporters.
Recruitment & Communications:
- Recruit, support and develop volunteers and fundraisers across a range of activities.
- Encourage progression of volunteers into active fundraisers and community leaders.
- Provide ongoing guidance, tools and support to enable successful fundraising delivery.
- Support the promotion of fundraising activity through social media, digital channels and campaign communications.
- Contribute to marketing activity aimed at attracting new supporters and engaging existing audiences.
Systems, Insights & Reporting:
- Use CRM systems effectively to manage supporter data and activity.
- Monitor income, engagement and performance against agreed KPIs.
- Analyse results to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Use insight to inform future planning and campaign development.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams to align community fundraising with wider organisational goals.
About you
Experience:
- Proven experience in community fundraising at manager level.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
All of us will experience violence at some point in our lives. For many children, it is a daily reality. Each year, tens of children are killed, hundreds are hospitalised, 1 in 5 teenage children are victims and the majority admit to feeling afraid of violence. It scares them when they travel home from school, prevents them from going out and makes the most vulnerable feel like they don’t matter. It is taking lives, traumatising families and dividing communities. It robs potential, progress and hope.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
The Youth Endowment Fund believes that no child should be affected by violence. We research violence to understand it; we find, fund and test what works to prevent it; and we are building a movement to end it.
A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of children’s services. We need to inspire and connect with senior leaders in England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We need someone who can deliver this whilst understanding and working within the context of the major sector reforms that are currently being delivered via the Families First Partnership programme.
Key Responsibilities
We are at an exciting moment in our work. In June we will publish our children’s services practice guidance, setting out the evidence for what works to reduce serious youth violence in the children’s services sector.
We have plans to work with the sector over the rest of the financial year and beyond, including designing a self-assessment tool to help senior sector leaders benchmark their existing practice against the evidence. We will also launch a new change programme, working hand-in-hand with the sector to implement the evidence for what works, gaining valuable insights in the process.
Your role is to help us turn these plans into a reality.
This will include launching the self-assessment tool and promoting its use within the sector. It will also involve planning, designing and delivering the change programme to turn the theory into reality.
You will also contribute by designing and delivering a range of sector engagement activities, such as webinars, events and learning opportunities, that reach the sector, helping to build momentum, understanding and commitment across children’s services.
Lastly, you will support the Head of Change for Children’s Services with government engagement as required and support the establishment of a new network for senior sector leaders to share the latest evidence and best practice.
Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the launch and roll-out of the children’s services self-assessment tool, driving up demand and ensuring widespread completion of the tool across the sector;

Work hands-on with Local Authorities to help them put evidence into practice via our change programme; planning, delivering and learning as the work continues;

Continuously capture and act on learning from the self-assessment tool and deep dive change programme to inform future work;

Supporting the design and roll-out of a children’s services network to spread learning of what works to reduce serious youth violence;

What is the Role?
This is a fixed-term maternity cover opportunity for a Partnerships Account Manager. In this role, you will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. Role Purpose
Responsible for helping to ensure the effective delivery of the Regional Fundraising strategy in relation to generating sustainable income from third parties and campaigns. • With the Board of Trustees, develop and execute the charity's strategic goals.
• Develop and manage the charity’s budget and resources to ensure financial sustainability and impact.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth, including partnerships, new funding streams, and relationships with local schools, businesses and other community organisations.
• Maintain effective and safe digital organisation of key data.
• Support the other arm of our charity - The Camino Café - as and when required.
4. Fundraising and Financial Oversight
• Lead fundraising efforts to secure funding from diverse sources, including grants, donations, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.
• Oversee the preparation of funding applications and reports for donors and grant-making bodies.
• Maintain financial oversight, ensuring effective use of resources, monitoring expenses and reporting financial performance to the Board using Quickbooks as the primary accounting and reporting tool.
• Improve branding and awareness of Skillway and its aims and purpose.
5. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, community groups, donors, and business partners.
• Represent the charity in public and at events, advocating for the charity's mission and the importance of vocational education for vulnerable young people.
• Ensure the charity’s work is widely known and respected in the community.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the impact of Skillway’s work.
• Gather feedback from participants, staff, and stakeholders to assess programme effectiveness and make improvements.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Trustees, funders, and other stakeholders on the charity’s impact and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
• Proven experience in a management role, ideally within the charity or education sector.
• Background in vocational education, youth work, or a related field, with a focus on supporting vulnerable young people.
• Experience in leading and managing a diverse team, with the ability to inspire, support, and develop staff.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated ability in fundraising, securing grants, and building donor relationships.
• Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• A commitment to the mission and values of the charity.
Desirable:
• Experience in working with metalwork, woodworking, or a related technical skill.
• Familiarity with the challenges faced by vulnerable young people and the ability to create a supportive and empowering learning environment.
• Experience working with boards of trustees or governance bodies.
