An exciting opportunity has arisen at Action for Stammering Children for a Deputy CEO who is interested in combining their fundraising expertise with a dynamic leadership role. This is an excellent role for someone with a fundraising background to assist the CEO in growing and diversifying the charity’s income streams and gaining experience in managing day-to-day operations.
The Deputy CEO will lead on implementation of the fundraising strategy and support the CEO in managing operational matters. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have experience in donor acquisition and Trust and Foundation fundraising.
This role will involve working closely with the CEO who sets the strategic direction, oversees and evaluates the charity’s activity portfolio, manages the charity’s partners, and represents the charity externally. Sightsavers is looking for an experienced Projects and Events professional to support an exciting and high-profile event taking place in Q2 2026.
Salary: £27,526 - £32,384 pro rata
Location: UK remote - with occasional travel to Haywards Heath and London

About the role
We are looking for a confident and organised Projects and Events Executive to plan, support and help to deliver a high-profile event taking place in Quarter 2 of 2026. This is the first time Sightsavers have taken part in this event, which presents excellent fundraising and publicity opportunities; you will utilise your experience of managing and delivering high profile projects or events to ensure the event is a huge success, providing a distinctive and impactful platform for Sightsavers to promote our work.
Whilst the details of the event are currently confidential, we are able to discuss at interview stage, with communications made public in early 2026.
About you
As the Projects and Events Executive, you will be highly organised with excellent communication skills, including experience of diplomatic and professional liaison with external stakeholders. You will utilise your exceptional time, budget and project management skills in all logistical aspects of the planning and delivery of the event, including volunteer management, accessibility requirements and meeting deliverables and deadlines. A commitment to equality, excellent writing skills and an understanding of accessibility requirements will underpin your work.
Hours
The Projects and Events Executive role can initially be worked in a part time capacity although it will need to increase to full time in the month leading up to the event; flexibility is required in the lead up to and during the event to work occasional unsociable hours and travel within the UK.

Essential:
· Proven experience of managing and delivering high profile events or projects
· Demonstrable experience in a role that demanded exceptional organisational skills and communication skills
· Experience of managing volunteers and / or teams

The role leads on programme oversight across the full project lifecycle, from contracting and start-up through to delivery, reporting, and close-out, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and risk management.
The role involves close collaboration with country offices, partners, and internal teams, including Programme Finance, Programme Funding, and technical advisers, as well as acting as a senior interface with donors. The priority geographic focus for this post is West Africa, with particular emphasis on francophone countries, and the portfolio may include programmes linked to corporate partnerships and agricultural value chains.
Key skills and abilities required include strong programme and financial management capability, excellent donor and stakeholder relationship management, the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities, and confidence working independently while escalating risks appropriately. We're looking for a passionate and strategic Supporter Services Manager to join our Fundraising & Marketing Operations team. This will be a full time, 9 month fixed term position based at our offices in King's Cross, London.
The successful candidate will lead a dedicated Supporter Services team focused on delivering excellent customer service, whilst managing our relationships with fulfilment agencies which deliver our income processing and merchandise delivery. The role is a hybrid position with an expectation of minimum two days per week in our central London offices.
What you'll do
- Provide clear direction to the team regarding their individual and team based KPIs
- Nurture a productive environment with a culture of continuous improvement, in which the team is encouraged to reach and expand their performance ceiling
- Day to day management of all Engagement Operations third party relationships, including but not limited to Elovate, our primary fulfilment partner.
- Continually assess the performance of all third parties against agreed levels, addressing any shortcomings in a constructive manner.
- Monitor the performance of third-party fulfilment agencies relative to agreed SLA obligations and intervene as and when required.
