The Diocese of Chester is seeking to recruit a Diocesan Secretary who will be:
1) A senior member of the Bishop of Chester's core staff team,
2) The chief officer of the charitable business that undergirds the Diocese of Chester, and
3) The most senior, 'lay' officer of the Diocese of Chester.

Context and Background
The Public Engagement team is responsible for developing and delivering the strategy that will drive significant, long-term income growth by inspiring and engaging public audiences to support the work of the NSPCC.
This will be achieved through integrated, audience-led, multi-channel marketing approaches, including; mass participation, individual giving, and campaigns that generate sustainable funding aligned to the NSPCC’s strategic priorities.
Alongside income generation, the team plays a vital role in increasing public understanding of abuse and neglect and building advocacy.
The team will foster a high-performing, results-driven culture that values collaboration, innovation, and integration. By focusing on excellent supporter relationship management and purposeful engagement, it will deliver long-term, sustainable impact to support the NSPCC’s mission.
Job purpose
The Associate Head of Engagement Delivery will lead the planning, delivery, and optimisation of engagement and fundraising activity to key agreed audiences, ensuring alignment with the audience engagement strategy and campaign plan.
· Take accountability for Engagement Delivery team outputs, ensuring high-quality execution across creative, campaigns and channels
· Provide direct line management and coaching to diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, building capability, confidence and high performance across the full channel mix, while fostering an inclusive and supportive culture
· Ensure engagement and fundraising activity is insight-led and audience-focused, delivering effective engagement across a range of channels, with a strong focus on both warm/loyalty channels such as direct mail, email and telemarketing, and broader cold acquisition channels including DRTV, door drop, press, digital and integrated campaigns
· Take accountability for continuous improvement in campaign performance, working collaboratively with peers across the Engagement and Fundraising directorate to maximise impact and supporter value

● Reporting into the Head of Engagement Delivery, this role sits alongside three peer Associate Heads within the Engagement Delivery function: the second Associate Head of Engagement Delivery (leading the complementary campaign delivery squads), the Associate Head of Digital Engagement, and the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising.
● Line management of a team of 8: Engagement Delivery Managers, Senior Officers and Officer
● Member of Public Engagement Leadership Team
● Collaborates closely with other Associate Heads within Engagement and Fundraising directorate, as well as Brand, Marketing and Communications, to create integrated strategies for public engagement and fundraising.
● Pro-actively works closely with managers and staff in other NSPCC functions to further fundraising relationships and opportunities for cross departmental working.

Main duties and responsibilities
· Campaign Planning and Delivery
o Accountable for the planning and operational delivery of engagement and fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email and telemarketing to current supporter and DRTV, digital acquisition supporting integrated charity-wide campaigns, and advocacy activity.
o Oversee direct line management of campaign delivery teams, coaching and developing individuals to build capability, confidence and high performance across the full channel mix, while fostering an inclusive and supportive culture
o Oversee campaign briefing, scheduling, and performance tracking, ensuring campaigns are delivered in line with audience strategy and organisational priorities.
o Adjust campaign strategies as required to respond to performance, changing supporter behaviours, market conditions, and organisational priorities.
o Lead the formation, leadership and allocation of high-performing campaign delivery squads, ensuring teams are effectively structured, supported and empowered to deliver, ensuring each team is equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to successfully execute their campaigns, allocating resources based on audience insight and projected impact.
o Monitor and report on campaign performance, embedding structured feedback loops and squad retrospectives to capture learning and drive continuous improvement, using data to inform improvements and strategic decisions.
o Collaborate with colleagues across Engagement and Fundraising to ensure campaigns are insight-led and supporter-centric.
o Work with the Engagement Delivery Management Team ensuring that all activities are aligned with Digital Engagement and Direct Fundraising teams to ensure seamless execution and optimisation of campaigns to achieve the overarching objectives for the Public Engagement Directorate.
o Champion delivery standards, processes, and best practice within your portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organisation-wide Engagement Delivery standards set by the Head of Engagement Delivery.
· Strategic Leadership and Integration
o Working in partnership with peers to ensure that all channels are effectively utilised to deliver both standalone activity and integrated charity-wide campaigns, including collaboration with audience strategy, supporter experience, product, and insight teams, driving innovations across the income streams.
o Act as a subject matter expert within the organisation, providing expert guidance on campaign execution, creative development, and audience engagement.
o Maintain awareness of sector trends and developments in campaign delivery, bringing insight back into the team to inform delivery approaches and continuous improvement.

Person specification
1. Significant experience in strategic, integrated engagement and fundraising - developing and delivering multi-channel campaigns (direct mail, email and telemarketing, DRTV, door drop, press, digital and charity wide integrated campaigns) across the full marketing funnel, from brand awareness to direct response, in a non-profit or similar environment.
2. Up-to-date knowledge of direct and digital marketing theory and practice, including individual giving trends, regulations, and best practice, with a proven ability to optimise campaign performance and return on investment.
3. Strong track record of financial planning and budget management at scale, including setting and reporting on income and expenditure targets, and providing clear performance updates to the Engagement and Fundraising SLT.

Site locations
The SERT region, covers the south east of England, extending from Hampshire in the west to Kent in the east, with the northern border being south of the Thames, extending down to the English Channel.
Our office is based in Leatherhead which you will be required to attend approximately four days a month.
The amount of travel required depends on the role, and can be extensive. Most travel for an individual will be to work on project sites, which can be remote, or attending external meetings within the SERT region. The geographical range and frequency of travel is role dependent.
To support travel costs, SERT pays mileage at the current HMRC amount for travel within the SERT region. We do not pay mileage, time or any other costs for travel outside the SERT region, nor for any commutes to the office. Toll charges cannot be claimed.

This is an exciting opportunity for a community development professional who cares about tackling energy-related issues and working towards a more inclusive and sustainable future. We recognise that an effective engagement is a key component in ensuring the households at-risk of or in fuel poverty are able to access impartial energy advice.
As Outreach Team Lead, you will work with a diverse and supportive team. Ideally you will be locally based covering Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Bexley, with a strong interest in community engagement, working knowledge of energy advice and climate breakdown. Your role will be to deliver an outreach program in order to engage voluntary sector organisations and residents in or at-risk of fuel poverty through workshops, outreach events and community level publicity. Your role will also include maintaining and creating referral networks with voluntary sector organisations across SE London as well as supporting the Energy Advice Delivery and Partnerships Manager to adapt the outreach program to meet the needs of our funded projects, as well as those of our partners and local community.
The Role
· Lead and coordinate Selce’s energy advice outreach activity across Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Bexley, ensuring delivery is inclusive, well organised and aligned with funder requirements.
· Work closely with the Energy Advice Team and Outreach Team to provide a joined-up approach to engagement, referrals and service delivery.
· Plan, organise and deliver energy advice workshops, pop-up stalls, energy cafés and other community-based events.
· Build and maintain strong referral pathways with voluntary, community and public sector organisations, and train frontline workers to identify and refer residents who may benefit from Selce’s support.

About South East London Community Energy
South East London Community Energy (Selce) was born in 2014, when a group of people living in Greenwich & Lewisham became so concerned about climate change that they decided to come up with a formula that would help to create a clean and just energy future.
Throughout our first ten-years, we have set up projects that address inequality and seek to reduce our collective carbon footprint at different points in the energy systems.
To date we have built 12 solar arrays on community buildings in SE London and 11 buildings’ lighting systems to be more energy efficient. We are opening share offers this year for further lighting system upgrades and solar arrays on community buildings.
We’ve helped well over 4000 house holds with their energy bills and we are pleased to now be able to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient through the Love Lofts and Future Fit Homes pilot programmes.
About Our Energy Advice Services
Almost one in ten households cannot afford to heat their homes adequately. Our team of energy advisors provide practical guidance and support to households who are struggling to pay their fuel bills. They advise clients about how to reduce their fuel bills by switching suppliers or accessing discounts or changing behaviour or by fitting small practical energy-saving measures such as low energy light bulbs and draft proofing. They also support the householder to access funded home energy improvements such as loft, cavity wall insulation or heating upgrades.

About NUM:
National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is a UK-wide charity which delivers a holistic safety, wellbeing and economic support model for sex workers, combining digital harm prevention, specialist casework, mental health support and pathways to economic stability. Activities are delivered UK-wide via a digital platform, remote services, and in-person hubs. We run a wellbeing drop-in service in Glasgow and other in-person services and events in Manchester and London. We have developed Vocational Support Services for those exploring careers both in and outside of sex industries and we run a Racial Justice project and Youth Justice project that makes visible the lived experiences of harm among racialised and young (18-25) sex workers towards systems change.
NUM values those with lived experience in sex industries and work with them to shape services and responses, conduct research, develop education packages, and participate in policy advocacy to change the conditions that lead to survival sex work, gain rights and recognition, and improve the safety of UK-based sex workers.
Background and Responsibilities:
The casework team is at the heart of NUM. We provide vital support from assistance through the criminal justice journey to essential emergency financial support. We are looking for a Casework Team Lead to lead our casework team. If you are driven, have a keen eye for detail, can effectively motivate others in a demanding and emotive area of work with the ability to support people in an empathetic and trauma informed way then this could be the role for you.
This role will specifically focus on the day-to-day running of the casework team alongside carrying your own caseload. The work involves utilising and monitoring our digital platform and CMS maintaining and monitoring the documentation of cases and coordinating responses to ensure sex workers received the high standard of support they deserve, to prevent and recover from violence as well as seek justice and recourse. The Victim Support Casework Team Lead is responsible for maintaining high standards for all digital, individualised and in-person support provided by the casework team. All responsibilities can be grouped under five umbrella categories. The successful candidate will evidence suitability for the role based on the strength areas below:
1) Management: Manage the operations and administration associated with victim and vocational support casework.
2) Leadership: Lead and motivate the team of national case workers towards service excellence. The best leaders can also be led. 3) High Standards: Support good performance and quality outcomes for sex workers.

Managing your own caseload, providing individualised support to sex workers alongside your leadership role ensuring that sex workers are put at the forefront of all services offered. Maintaining our high standard of support.

Host or contribute to the ongoing meetings of the National ISVA/SWISVA forum and continue to foster useful and productive spaces for SWISVAs (specialist sex work ISVA’s) throughout the UK to share experiences, insights towards delivering quality support services to sex workers with maintaining high service standards and prioritising self-care.
Deliver weekly operations meetings, keep them short and concise to discuss operational updates NUM wide/internal. Analyse statistics and case work trends and discuss any issues or take aways with the Operations Manager to inform Casework Team strategy.
Communicate and collaborate with other work streams and projects at NUM. Contribute to organisational priorities and support initiatives that strengthen National Ugly Mugs’ overall impact.

• Experience of leading recruitment processes including creating job packs, promotion, shortlisting and communications to applicants throughout the cycle.
• Experience of drafting, reviewing and implementing organisational HR policy and procedures (HR expertise is provided by an external provider) and working with HR systems (we use Breathe HR)
• Basic training in risk management with experience of writing and implementing risk assessments.
• Good understanding of organisational health and safety requirements, including safeguarding and the knowledge and confidence of how to seek further advice and information when required.
• Experience of negotiating with and supervising third-party suppliers and contracts.
• Excellent IT skills with ability to use Microsoft Office to a high level and support others to do so.
• Experience of general administrative support including logistics, travel and events.
• Experience in CRM database management, preferably Salesforce, and a proven ability to handle and analyse data, and produce reports.

The Role
The Trusts & Grants Officer is responsible for delivering income from trusts, foundations and statutory funders through proactive prospect research, high quality applications, relationship management and timely reporting, contributing directly to FareShare Midlands’ income targets and growth plans.
