Working with landowners, farmers, volunteers, conservation partners and Freshwater Habitats Trust colleagues, you’ll coordinate high-quality practical work across the River Irfon catchment and help demonstrate a new, connected approach to freshwater biodiversity conservation.
You’ll help drive the scheme by:
· Planning and delivering pond creation, wetland management and river and floodplain restoration
· Coordinating practical conservation work with volunteers, contractors, landowners and partner organisations
· Managing habitat for priority species, particularly Freshwater Pearl Mussel, and developing further species recovery opportunities
· Building trusted relationships with farmers and landowners, including supporting innovative grazing approaches
· Keeping projects, budgets, health and safety requirements, records and reporting on track
We need someone who brings:
· Proven experience in freshwater habitat and/or species conservation management
· Knowledge of freshwater natural history and ecology, with the ability to deliver evidence-based practical work

· A relevant degree, good IT skills and a full current driving licence

About You

You will be confident preparing and explaining financial information to non-financial colleagues, senior leaders and trustees. You will also be collaborative, highly organised and comfortable working independently within a remote and values-led organisation.

We're a not-for-profit providing trauma-informed support for children and young people with SEN and complex, overlapping needs, through our Alternative Provision service in schools and settings across Gloucestershire, and our Stay & Play holiday clubs, giving SEN children a safe, sensory-friendly space during school closures.
Now we're looking for a Trusts and Grants Manager to secure the funding that makes this work possible.
The role
This is a brand-new, standalone fundraising role, and a genuinely flexible one. You'll own the trusts, foundations and statutory funding pipeline from end to end: spotting the right opportunities, writing applications that land, and keeping funders close so they come back again.
You'll work directly with our CEO to shape an income strategy built on trusts, grants and statutory funds, with real scope to make your mark from day one.
It's an ideal fit if you're an experienced freelance or part-time fundraiser looking for a role with genuine autonomy and immediate impact.

This is an exciting time to be joining this organisation, who focus on strengthening local communities and improving lives across Kirklees. Since 2015, the Foundation has distributed over £8 million in funding to local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups, and currently manages an endowment valued at £3.6 million.
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-quality pipeline of prospective supporters, with a strong emphasis on major gift fundraising, high-value relationship development and legacy conversations, ensuring donors are supported to give in ways that deliver lasting impact.
To be successful as the Philanthropy Manager, you will be a confident and credible relationship builder, skilled in engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders. With a proactive and outcomes-focused approach, you will be comfortable working to clear income objectives within a relationship-led fundraising model.
