Our ambition is not only to improve individual outcomes, but to demonstrate a better way of working with care-affected girls and young women—one that is relational, culturally responsive, asset-based and built around what they tell us they need to thrive.
As Sister System enters its next phase of growth and prepares to shape its future strategy, we are seeking an experienced and values-led Director of Operations to join our Senior Leadership Team. The role sits at the heart of Living Legacies: Collaboration, Community and Radicality, a four-year National Lottery Heritage Fund project that activates iniva’s archive and connects it with communities through exhibitions, events, podcasts, oral histories and digital resources. Working at iniva is dynamic, creative and purpose driven. As a small organisation, we value people who can work confidently on their own initiative while collaborating closely with colleagues, freelancers and partners. This part-time role (3 days per week) is offered as a fixed-term contract over four years, with responsibilities evolving across the project lifecycle — from strategy and planning in the early stages to website redevelopment, major public programmes and legacy outputs in later phases. The Website & Communications Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and wider team to support clear communication, shared understanding and joined-up audience engagement. The role plays a key part in shaping how audiences encounter Living Legacies and iniva more broadly, ensuring communications are inclusive, accessible and grounded in the organisation’s values. Experience supporting or overseeing freelancers such as PR consultants, graphic designers, photographers, videographers etc or external partners is helpful, alongside a collaborative approach and good organisational skills. We are particularly interested in candidates who bring transferable skills from other sectors, along with curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn. You should be motivated by working in a small, purpose-driven team and be committed to inclusive, accessible communication. This role supports a multi-year heritage project focused on the histories and practices of Black and Global Majority artists. We particularly welcome applicants with lived experience and/or a strong interest in these areas, and a commitment to inclusive, anti-racist and accessible communication practices. The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) is partnering with Robertson Bell on a retained basis to recruit a Director of Finance on a permanent basis. This is a rare opportunity to join a globally influential organisation at a pivotal point in its growth, leading the transformation of the finance function whilst helping drive the organisation's ambitious mission to eliminate avoidable sight loss worldwide.
This is far more than a traditional Finance Director role. The successful candidate will inherit a finance function ready for transformation, with the full backing of an ambitious Senior Leadership Team committed to investing in modern systems, stronger processes and strategic financial leadership. It is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious finance leader looking to make their first move into a Director position, whilst remaining close to the operational detail and leading meaningful organisational change.
The role
The organisation
The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness is the only global alliance dedicated to eliminating the world's avoidable vision crisis. The organisation has experienced significant growth in recent years, expanding to over 50 staff and securing substantial new investment to support its ambitious global agenda. This includes convening the inaugural Global Summit for Eye Health in November 2026, bringing together heads of government, multilateral organisations and major funders to accelerate progress towards ending avoidable sight loss for the 1.1 billion people currently living without access to the eye care they need.
With strong leadership, genuine investment in organisational development and a culture built around being ambitious, collaborative, inclusive and strategic, IAPB offers an outstanding opportunity to shape both the finance function and the future direction of the organisation.

The Survivor Support Fund ("the Fund") has been established by the Archbishops' Council to provide short to medium-term support to people who have experienced Church of England-related abuse and who are facing an urgent and immediate need for assistance as a result.
Funding decisions are made by an independent panel drawn from a variety of backgrounds, including professionals and those with lived experience of abuse, and chaired by a person independent from the Church. We are now seeking to establish this panel.
The Fund has three priorities: signposting to statutory agencies, local resources and relevant charities; grant for therapeutic support; and grant for basic needs.
The Fund will be easy to access, and aspects of the design of the Fund were co-produced with victims and survivors. Based on findings from consultation and co-production, the Archbishops' Council approved a Terms of Reference that set out the criteria and parameters of the Fund. Panel decisions will be regularly reviewed to ensure fairness and equity in all applications.
Panels are held as often as needed - it is anticipated that this will be fortnightly. With a pool of panel members, frequency of meetings will vary on volume of applications, and it is anticipated panel members will attend a meeting every one to two months. The Panel meetings will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
Decision Panel meetings are expected to last up to about an hour and a half, depending on the number and complexity of discussions required. Panel members are required to review panel papers before meetings.
Panel members will be supported by the two Panel Secretaries to the Fund (staff members of the National Safeguarding Team).
Panel members can come from backgrounds of different faiths or no faith.
Remuneration
This role is a working role as a contractor and consultant. This is not a voluntary role or a typical survivor participation opportunity.
Panel members (professionals and people with lived experiences) will be paid £125 per panel, including preparation, meeting time and any correspondence after meetings. The contract will be for three years.
Panel members will invoice the Archbishops' Council on a monthly basis and be responsible for their own tax arrangements.
A note on data protection
As an organisation, we have to comply with data protection law. Under such laws you will be a data processor on behalf of the Archbishops' Council, and we will be sharing sensitive and confidential data with you as panel member.
The role of data processor comes with responsibilities and obligation which you must accept if you wish to act as panel members. For example, you cannot use, share or alter information shared with you for the purpose other than your role as a panel member of the Fund. This is to protect panel members as well as the applicants who come to the Fund. We will provide mandatory training to ensure panel members understand their responsibilities.
Before you take on the role
Panel members will be required to complete a Basic DBS check and provide two references. These processes must be completed ahead of their first panel.
You will be offered a contract, and you will need to sign a data processing agreement.
Panel members will also be required to undertake mandatory training, including:
- Church of England National Safeguarding Basic Awareness training (1 hour and 15 minutes)
- GDPR(UK) training (40 minutes), and
- an online training day to meet other panel members, to familiarise themselves with the Terms of Reference and other important matters, on Thursday, 10 September (10am to 4pm).
Conversations and interviews
If you would like to have a conversation with the Panel Secretaries, please get in touch by writing
If you would like to apply for this role, please apply through the recruitment website and not through the email address above. In the application process, you will be asked to provide a covering letter that addresses the skills and knowledge required for the role. A CV outlining professional experiences is optional.
(The application system will include the standard text "you need to attach a CV. You can also attach other documents you consider important." At that step, you do not need to attach a CV. This is optional for this application. You only need to provide a covering letter.)
The deadline for application is 11.59pm, Sunday, 9 August. Shortlisting will be done shortly after and shortlisted candidates will be contacted as soon as possible.
Interviews for this position will take place on Monday, 24 August, Tuesday 25 August or Thursday 27 August. They will take place online.
The Church of England’s vocation is and always has been to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ afresh in each generation to the people of England.
