Global Accounts Receivable Assistant

About the role
As our Global Accounts Receivable Assistant, you’ll be part of our Finance team, helping to maintain timely and accurate recording of supporter income across our global entities. This is a key role supporting the financial processes that underpin our fundraising activity and wider mission to end factory farming.
As our Global Accounts Receivable Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:
- Recording global donations accurately - Downloading and posting accounts receivable income received for all entity bank accounts, ensuring clear audit trails are maintained.
- Supporting accurate financial coding - Amending postings to reflect accurate campaign codes and responding to reconciliation queries around donation recording.
- Flagging issues and queries appropriately - Escalating refunds, disputes, discrepancies and inaccuracies to the right manager or senior colleague for review.
- Supporting improvements to procedures and systems - Helping to test system and procedural updates, query discrepancies in existing processes and provide constructive feedback where needed.
- Working collaboratively across teams - Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Finance, Marketing and Fundraising, and directing donation queries to the correct point of contact.
About you
To succeed as our Global Accounts Receivable Assistant, you’ll be organised, accurate and proactive, with a positive approach to routine administrative work and a genuine interest in supporting a purpose-led Finance function.
Skills and experience you’ll need to bring:
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, internet use and confidence using basic Excel formulas.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to set high standards for your own work and maintain accurate records.
- Sound judgement and the confidence to make timely decisions at the appropriate level, including knowing when to escalate to a manager or Financial Controller.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to plan and organise your workload and manage busy periods effectively.
- A collaborative and respectful approach, recognising the perspectives and values of others and communicating positively with colleagues across the organisation.
- A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn, support agreed processes and contribute to continuous improvement.

About the role
As a Bank Retail Assistant, you will step in to support the running of the shop as required, including taking the lead in the absence of the Shop Manager or Assistant Managers. In these situations, you will supervise and support a team of volunteers to maximise sales and deliver an excellent customer experience. You will help ensure the shop is well-presented, safe, and operates efficiently, maintaining high standards in line with legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures.
Please note: This role requires travel across the Shooting Star retail network, with locations across Surrey and South West London, as well as our Distribution Unit. Ahead of the charity's Centenary in 2027, we are looking for a fixed term Centenary Communications Assistant and Archivist to support with the planning and delivery of the charity's Centenary communications campaign by organising, digitising and managing archive materials. The role will ensure the charity’s history is accessible and effectively used to support storytelling, engagement, fundraising and communications activities, helping to celebrate and inspire audiences during its 100th anniversary year.
This is a fixed-term role for 15 weeks, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days per week at our Head Office in Snetterton, Norfolk.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Archive and digital asset management

Sort, assess and organise historic photographs, printed materials and other archive assets linked to the charity’s history.

What you will do
A year-in-the-life of our Largs-based Communications and Media Officer has two distinct parts. October to April - where it’s all about getting the word out there to support fundraising and encouraging young people to sign up for our life-changing adventures. Then it’s the summer - May to September - when the magic happens and you’re around the trips, interviewing young people and telling their stories. You can go sailing on the trips too!
You will be responsible for identifying story opportunities year-round, and writing press releases, media advisories or editorial content to pitch those stories to a range of media outlets, from local newspapers and regional broadcasters to national, charity, marine and other specialist publications, and facilitating inbound requests for interviews or other profile-raising opportunities.
You will serve as our go-to copywriter for print, online and digital marketing materials as well as writing other articles and feature content as requested. This includes responsibility for writing and overseeing the production of our annual in-house publication, Inspire.

The role

- Logistics & Coordination
- Liaise with the logistics team to ensure timely dispatch and delivery
- Help maintain accurate stock records and inventory systems
- Team Support
- Work closely with our amazing commercial team to support our ecommerce operation and our portfolio of shops
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and customer experience
Skills & Experience:
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience with ecommerce platforms – eBay and/or other resale platforms
- Experience of the circular economy/sustainable fashion/second hand market
- Experience in buying or visual merchandising, customer service experience
- Good written communication and basic photography skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for retail, charity work, and creative storytelling.

Job details:
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Location: Oxford (OX4 6JS)
- Salary: £25,087 per annum
