Key Responsibilities -

To plan and implement high quality support and advocacy services for women affected by domestic violence in Solihull. 

To provide one off support and case work to women accessing support in Solihull.

To work within a multi-agency framework to ensure the safety of women is prioritised.

Role purpose
The Operations Support Officer is a central support role responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of Music24. The role combines administrative coordination, bookkeeping support, and operational assistance, alongside light communications and event support. • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support across the charity.

About the role

The service provides accommodation and support to male and female clients; working with the clients in a recovery focused way to support them into independent living. The service works collaboratively with clients, supporting them in a safe and supportive environment in developing goals, plans and strategies to better manage their mental health, substance misuse and any associated risks.

In the role of Caseworker you will be involved in undertaking key working activities, taking referrals, conducting assessments, inducting clients into the service, supporting clients to access the community and promoting client involvement. Other duties include day to day housing management and health & safety tasks.

We are currently looking for highly motivated and committed individuals to join the team in Bournemouth as Support Workers supporting clients with complex needs in a dual diagnosis supported accommodation setting.

To succeed, you will have an understanding of the needs and support requirements of people with complex needs. This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Multiple Disadvantaged Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in Derby City.

The Multiple Disadvantaged outreach Worker will provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse, with additional complex support needs, in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles. The post holder will inform the survivor on the options and support available, empowering the survivor to make decisions and achieve their goals to increase their safety, confidence and independence. The role involves working with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies to advocate on behalf of survivors and promote access to services to meet their needs. The Multiple Disadvantaged Outreach worker will work within Derby City.

What does Support Work involve?

As a support worker you will help people with learning disabilities to live safe, fulfilling, and dignified lives in supported accommodation or their own home.  We work on a rota which includes working some weekends, early and late shifts. If you prefer to work nights, we also have some vacancies for waking nights. 

LDN London is currently looking to recruit several Support Workers in the Hammersmith & Fulham area.  The nearest tube station will be Acton Central station.  We need team members that can work flexibly because there will be a need to support people with learning disabilities through the day and night.

People want to be part of the community and to develop independence skills and so understanding the principles of doing with and not for is important.  

You need to be digitally confident in use of Apps and other systems which help people be more independent and tracking progress.

You will be working with people who need assistance with every aspect of daily living, supporting complex health conditions, assisting people with sensory loss and communication challenges as well as with people who are significantly more independent but vulnerable to coercion and control and who may reject support.

You will be part of a large team and working as partners with professionals and families and so your communication skills and level of professionalism must be at the highest level.

Being a team player who can take on additional responsibilities based on a key working model is also a requirement.

One of two Outreach and Project Workers pivotal to the delivery of an exciting new Women at Risk (WaR) project which will support women at risk of rough sleeping, homelessness and exploitation. Working across key areas of Enfield and Haringey you will, through a combination of nighttime outreach and daytime service provision, be critical to supporting a coordinated response across multiple agencies already engaged in this work.

You will undertake at least twice weekly nighttime outreach, support additional services and existing outreach provision and develop a daytime offer that meets the needs of women engaged through outreach and identified as at high risk of harm and homelessness.   

You will have responsibility for a caseload of women identified through outreach, referral and presentation at ours and other services. You will provide advocacy, casework support and connection and referral into other agencies which can help them address their needs.

Wintercomfort works with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or with a history of homelessness. We provide services to aid every stage of recovery -from immediate basic welfare needs to long term help in identifying and dealing with the problems which are undermining their stability, and enabling them to engage with education, employment and specialist health services.  National statistics rank the numbers of rough sleepers in Cambridge within the highest 20 UK local authorities. 

Wintercomfort is the only day-time service in the city, providing year-round advice and support for homeless or vulnerably housed people. Over the past three decades Wintercomfort has continued to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the homeless community. 

Our specialist Housing Team provides expert advice and support to help people successfully navigate the search for housing and crucially, support them to sustain life away from the street. 

About you and the Role 

As a member of Wintercomfort’s Project Worker Team, reporting to the Senior Tenancy Support Officer the Tenancy Support & Financial Wellbeing Project Worker is responsible for delivering Wintercomfort’s specialist range of 1:1 Pre and Post Tenancy Support, implementing proactive, holistic strategies designed to prevent people from losing their homes, whilst simultaneously providing them with the financial tools and capability needed to sustain stability, aimed at empowering Service Users to move out of the spiral of homelessness and back into mainstream society, preventing homelessness and foster financial inclusion.

Key Responsibilities 

• To provide emotional and practical support and assistance to prepare and assist Service Users to move into accommodation once a placement is confirmed, working with internal and external colleagues. To work in a flexible manner within Wintercomfort and the wider community to provide outreach and support services in person, occasionally in exceptional circumstances this could include in their own home when accompanied with external partners also includes via text, email, telephone and video calls.   
• To provide a wide range of resettlement-based support along with the Senior Tenancy Support Officer to ensure Service Users access the most suitable housing pathway for their individual needs. To take the lead on all housing related referrals for Service Users. To ensure all suitable Service Users are registered and supported on Homelink. 
• To provide crucial assistance to tenants, focusing on maintaining tenancies, managing money and debt and improving overall financial stability – including, signposting, budgeting, welfare benefits checks, rent arrears support, setting-up and managing utilities, housing related life skills, offering guidance and support to enable Service Users to maintain their own homes, aiming to prevent eviction and enhance quality of life. 
• To provide on-going long term tenancy support to Service Users moving into independent living, this includes private rental housing or alternative housing pathways without any on site support. To assist with hand over post tenancy support to accommodation providers at a suitable point in the Service User support pathway, with the aim of enabling long-term independence.
• To ensure all Service Users have access to external grants and any available funding to support their individual needs to maintain their accommodation. Signposting and assisting with applications for funding to assist people moving into accommodation are supported with the appropriate items: floor coverings, white goods, basic furniture and home furnishings. 
• To support residents to keep their current homes, including mediation with landlords, accessing legal support on evictions, addressing anti-social behaviour, identifying high risk groups targeting support towards vulnerable groups such as those fleeing difficulties, leaving prison, hospital or care systems. 
• To ensure that accurate records are kept, documenting the support services provided to Wintercomfort’s service users onto the Salesforce/Inform system. Ensuring that record keeping meets the requirements of internal and external monitoring of outcomes, assisting with reports and case studies to the fundraising team.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who excels in leadership, organisation and communication, with the ability to manage high-intensity environments and complex situations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

 •  Proven ability to support individuals in crisis, helping them develop self-management strategies.

 •  Experience managing small teams and volunteers.

 •  Strong understanding of mental health services and the recovery approach.

 •  Excellent communication and administrative skills. 

Desirable Skills:

 •  Mental Health First Aid or Suicide Prevention training.

 •  Knowledge of national suicide prevention strategies.

Job Title: Refuge Worker

Salary: £26,701.36 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Refuge Worker. The post holder will provide high quality support and safety planning to women and children in crisis. This includes enabling women to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice.  A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
